Service worked half the time, chat is with idiots who solve nothing, Spoke with real person to cancel they claim NO record of call(s) and keep billing me, have called numerous times. Company with ZERO integrity. CROOKS!
Worst customer service ever. It took me a really long time and several attempts to get the service canceled. They will not do this online (but they will hook you up online). It took me 4 calls to finally get it canceled. For each call I had to be transferred several times, and in 3 out of the 4 the final transfer had bad quality and dropped off. The final call I had to beg for them to not transfer me or drop the call to get it done. They finally did it, like they were doing a huge favor for me. I hope this get to someone in,. Centurylink
I've had several issues with Centurylink over the years. I have a modem that's still pretty new and it quit working. I was told a technician was coming today between 8-5 so of course I had to take the entire day off of work because they couldn't give me a more specific timeframe. Well, a technician never came. I contacted Centurylink 4 times today, the first two times someone assured me that a technician was still coming today, even though by my second call it was already 5:30pm. The third call I made I got hung up on and then SURPRISE! It was out of business hours to talk to a live person. So then I did the chat feature. He said the soonest a technician could come out is FOUR DAYS FROM NOW. How is that acceptable?! I will never recommend Centurylink to anyone. Ever.
My brother had Century Link and when he passed away I called them to cancel his account. They told me that I couldn't cancel his account but instead had to transfer it to my name which would make me responsible for the bill. I refused and told them what they were doing was illegal. Two years later I was still fighting with them. My lawyer also contacted them and they still tried to force me to take responsibility for the account. Finally, the account was closed for lack of payment and the estate was declared insolvent. They received 1/17th of what they claimed was owed.
I am not happy with our service from this company. We live out in a rural area, so there are very few options available for internet. Actually, this is the only option we have where we live. And it is terrible. It is overpriced for the crappy service we actually get. The highest plan you can get is 10gb, which is not much at all. It is supposed to be high speed, yet we still have to have a phone line to be able to use it. It frequently is out for no reason, and I have to reboot the box at least once a week, if not more. I feel like I am back to using the old AOL dialup crap, the amount of time I spend waiting for anything to download. Forget about watching tv shows or movies online, you'll be waiting forever for it to even load to the point you can watch it without it buffering multiple times. I really wish there was a better option for internet where I am.
So our internet has been down for about 4 days they said they came the other day but they couldn't access it outside; issue is there were no footprints in the snow no one came to the door, my kitchen faces the front door and I spent most of the day in the kitchen waiting to see someone come but never did when I contacted support they said that someone came and they couldn't access it and the soonest they could come is Monday mind without me about a week without internet I informed them I have a child at home that needs the internet for school and was told "well we'll try to make that a priority." $#*!en try that's not a thing. If I could give them negative stars or zero I would
Today I received a letter from Century Link that my bank had turned down a payment I made to them over the internet on 5/ 13 /23, the letter was the kind of letter you would get from a collection dept, it was condescending, rude, and insulting, saying that because my payment was turned down from my bank, which it wasn't, I needed to send in a cashiers check or money order. I called and finally got a service rep, and was told by him that Century Link rarely gets complaints and I get on the internet and I see that they are getting hundreds of complaints about their service, which is absolutely awful. Century link really needs to revamp it's service and improve it's technical abilities, it's a bad news company.
We have been CenturyLinkcustomers for over 3 years. We had to fix(upgrade) our modem once since our internet was very slow. We bought the modem from Century link, now we are experiencing no wi-fi at all or extremely low speed (8Mbps instead of 100Mbps promised). We called the customer service. They checked out modem number at it appears that it doesn't support Fiber connections, which suppose to provide fast speed. Technician just said:"That's weird". Wow! Exactly what I want to hear from you! They told us our modem has to be changed. One of their agents actually came up with a proposal and little credit for us in order to keep us as their customer but next day when I was going to schedule the appointment for installation they told me it was missunderstanding with previous agent and they can not provide me the plan he described! What?! New plane they can provide us is twice more expensive. No thank you! We are cancelling our membership!
"Price for Life" is a new plan from CenturyLink.com for those of us that are tired of contracts and the constant need to renegotiate our bill due to constant rate hikes. The brochure offers High Speed Internet up to 10 Megabytes per second (MBPS) for $45.00 per month for as long as you keep the plan. Since it's a good deal I called to take advantage of it. That's when I find out that their High Speed Internet is really Low Speed Turtle Net! You don't get the 10 Megabytes advertised! You get 10 Megabits (Mbps) or a blindingly slow speed of 1.25 Megabytes. Surprise Surprise!

So we set up a date to have our internet installed and that day came and the technician called and said he wouldn't be able to make it so it got pushed back to the next day... Next day came and no technician so the next day (day3) i call centurylink and they assure me the technician would be there at the end of the day... Never happened needless to say called multiple times they lie and say its already hooked up when its not and they toss you from person to person if you call them waited well over a week to get my internet set up with them mainly because they are the cheapest where i live and theres only 2 options here. Horrible customer service and horrible buisness.
After 3 attempts to report a problem with my phone and being told there was no problem with CenturyLink line I finally was transferred to another representative who said he would send out a Tech after explaining I had this problem o & on for 46 years! Repair Ticket ******* and a few days later CenturyLink Tech. Neil arrived! Told me there was a "BIG PROBLEM" with the CenturyLink line. Turns out the problem was at a switch box about a mile away. Neil not only was a very pleasant person who explained the problem but obviously is very skilled. He not only restored my telephone line but also restored my confidence in CenturyLink. RLM,
CENTURY LINK WAS THE ONLY "game in town" for awhile. Not anymore. Just calling to ask questions is a horrific experience! Their phone service and tv, internet etc service is AWFUL You find yourself arguing with their belligerent, rude, downright mean, uncooperative staff. I'm not sure who is "training" these people, but whoever it is OR THE. CEO should definitely get out of business!
I WAS ON THE PHONE 60 MINUTES LAST WEEK, HUNG UP, THIS WEEK 40 MINUTES TO TALK TO SOMEONE IN BILLING. THE AUTOMATED SYSTEM HAD ME PUT THE ZIP CODE 5 TIMES FOR MY BUSSINESS.THEY CHANGED THE ACCOUNT NUMBER LAST MONTH BUT I HAD ALREADY PAID, SO I GOT A LATE NOTICE SO I PAID AGAIN SO NOT TO LOSE SERVICE I NEED FOR BUSSINESS. I WANTED TO CLAIRFI THAT THEY WOULD PUT ONE PAYMENT FOR NEXT MONTH, FINALLY GOT ER DONE, THE AUTOMATED SYSTEM GUY JUST RUNS HIS MOUTH ABOUT THE ONE HUNDRED OPTIONS A CUSTOMER HAS,, I HAVE NOT BEEN SO UPSTE WITH A COMPANY TO GET SOMETHNIG SO SIMPLE. GOOD LUCK TO THE REST OF YOU ALL.
Lousy...service lousy customer support.no internet for a week they added things to my bill which now they state cannot be removed.Sneaky
In SALT LAKE CITY
My internet has been out for 2 days and I'm being told it will be out for and additional two more
When you call the customer service line all you get is a recording
It's hard to get an actual person and when you do they do not know anything... they only repeat the recorded message
I have had centurylink for over a year now and just canceled. We were receiving stone age speeds at FULL price. Our DL speed was riding at about 10mbps and our upload at. 5mbps, that's right, not even one mbps! We were constantly talking to reps and being transferred around or completely hung up on or dropped by the terrible international customer service they employ. Finally we had enough and canceled and behold another bill after disconnect appeared. They claim they bill in advance, but when you ask them what that means to them they will describe that they actually bill in arrears, and will continue to bill you after you disconnect. An absolute trash company, ripoff, poor service, poor customer service, and corrupt billing. Would never recommend.
CenturyLink is the worst internet company EVER. Constantly in a "equipment failure" situation and DOWN more than it's UP during any month. HORRIBLE customer service. Then the company sells out to BrightSpeed, who is even WORSE, without giving their customers any choice at all. If you are looking for a good internet connection anywhere in eastern NC, then go with a DIFFERENT COMPANY. CenturyLink is HORRIBLE!
Worst experience ever tying to just start service. Went to the main link to purchase/schedule an install (easy), tech comes in and tells me they don't do apartments (huh?), he they writes his update/feedback and talks with a rep to say they will get it fixed and send the correct tech tomorrow (I have a century link modem/router already in the apartment that is fixed from the apartment). I then call customer support the next morning to confirm if I can activate the current modem/router and was informed I should wait for the tech to come in today. 1 hour later, I get an email that says my account was cancelled. Called into customer support and was told I didn't go through the correct portal (where was any of this told to me in the last 3 interactions), then told it would be more expensive, doesn't qualify for the promo as an apartment, and then also told that there is nothing more that can be done to help remedy my experience. So went with Wave G, I was at least helped and got it taken care of in 10min and I'm not required to pay $15 /mont for their "better" modem/router. We all know thats a lie. All in all go with someone else if you think you will need any real customer service help, as they just do not train well and just don't care if they have you as a customer or not.
Have called 4 times and spoke with 4 different Ladies who ASSURED me things would be taken care of with my outrageous bill (Like talking to a FUC*ING Wall).
I guess thy're trying to be up there with the Big boys like Comcast as the most hated industries..
Customer first that what I was taught, nope not these days. Customer pays gets $#*!ty service complains about it, and nothing. High speed internet as long as you don't have 3 smart tv, printer, 5 cell phone. Oh and don't get me started on the grandkids tablets and games.
What do I hear from CL. Sir if things aren't being used turn them off.
For what I'm paying! Your kidding right? Have you every told a teenager turn your tv, game, or cell phone if your not using it? Good "Fbomb" luck with that.
CEO's MIGHT WANT TO GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES!
Answer: Don't pay your bill. Centurylink has the worst customer service on the planet. The best way to cancel anything with them is to cancel the payment. Don't give them a dime and eventually they will get the message.
Answer: Don't bother with either. Centurylink has the worst routers on the planet. Literally designed to fail. No matter what router you get from them, it won't last more than 6 months. If you are stuck with Centurylink and need a good router, go to Best Buy and ask them for a Netgear router. They can help you set it up.
