Wanted to follow up on a part ordered and for several days no one answered the phone. Drove several miles to check on it and waited out turn to ask. The guy at the computer was not pleasant at all. We asked about the part, which happens to be a different department and he had no access to the information. In addition, that department was closed! Needless to say, a wasted trip!
For anyone buying a trailer, RV etc. they are quick to help you here, but if you have any kind of repair you will have to wait Several weeks before you get it back! Oh, that's if they answer the phone so you can make the appointment!
You must sit down with a sales rep and go over all your financial numbers before they begin to show you any RV's and most of the time it is what they want to show you and not what you may have in mine. I been told by their sales rep, if you don't have the money today, your wasting their time. I was very Shocked by that comment! I had my travel trailer In for service and just wanted to look around. They said no! What are they hiding! They have a great service department is the only reason I go their. Camping World of Minneapolis (Monticello). James
Recently purchased a new 2024 Forest River Wildwood X-Lite trailer. Purchased extended warranty after swearing I wouldn't. Finance guy is very persistent. Three days later I requested cancellation of extended warranty and was told it would take 4-6 weeks. Going on 15 weeks and nothing but lip service so far. Don't let them include it on top of purchase price either.
New trailer had rear vent on top but no vent inside, and bathroom vent is lop-sided and un-even and flashing curled on inside. Paid to have MaxAir vent covers, and they put Camco covers. (main difference is one has a 1 year warranty and the other has a 6 year warranty) Antenna wiring was screwed up and then they only wired the front TV and not the rear. USB ports don't work. The Fresno service Dept. is nice but still put wrong covers on.
I'm contacting the Commission on Insurance and the BBB next week. Someone is dragging their feet and someone is collecting interest on my money that is in limbo.
Whole thing has left bad impression, and I don't see myself buying my next trailer from here or referring Camping World to anyone I care about. If they're still in business.
I had an outside LP gas leak. There hourly rate is advertised as &159.00 an hour. When I got the bill there were additional charges (like 40.00 sanitary fee) because they went in the coach, the employee needed covid gear. There was another charge, for materials ( rags to wipe their hands?). BEWARE, there are hidden charges, not mentioned beforehand.
Bought a 5th wheel from Camping World in Dec 23. Camper is still under warranty but I have a few issues. They want me to bring the camper to them. One of the problems is I cannot open the back door to fold the ladder in for it to be moved. Sorry we don't have mobile maintenance, call another location. I did, they farm that work out to a 3rd party. So know I don't even know if I get these repairs done it it will void my warranty
First, You can only believe some of what the salesman says.
Like, the camper will be cleaned and detailed.
That it will be all checked out before I take it off the lot.
If anything is wrong it will be fixed in a Timely manner.
I'm making my second payment and my oil light keeps coming on. I was promise this would be fixed.
I have had trouble getting the title in my name. Still Not, Hope that will happen today or tomorrow.
The AC/Heater vents have something blowing out of it.
Its starting to be more like work.
I don't want the camper now.
I have called multiple times for appointment info.
Like all exchanges in business particularly when you're dealing with the complexities of recreational vehicles when you encounter people who are professional kind and net worthy you really need to highlight them. Susan Johnson and others were extremely helpful. I also observed people who were acquiring extremely expensive recreational vehicles and they could not have been more attentive with them. What I demand is transparency in these type of exchanges which I received. There are always glitches when you're engaged in these complex devices which get more complex every year. Noteworthy where the people in finance and I enjoyed it very much. I will receive my RV on Friday.
I ordered my grill, and when I received it it was damaged. I sent it back, and they sent me a new one. FedEx re-delivered the damaged one to me twice within 1 week, so I called camping world customer service talked to a young lady, then I asked to talk to a manager who's name is Zachary, and he was very direct, and very rude in his approach, and every time I would try to say something he would tell me not to cut him off. If I remember right, I am the customer, and I was trying to voice my opinion, and he wouldn't even give me the chance to say anything. Someone needs to teach him how to treat customers the right way, or fire him Based on his interaction, I would not refer any of my friends to camping world after this experience.
The sales and service were both good. They even delivered the camper to us which I thought was above and beyond. Getting financed and sitting there for 4 hours was not good. The manager was awesome but the financing in my opinion was very pushy on products that were not needed and did not like that at all. Camper is what we were wanting works good and happy with the purchase.
Lake City, Fl Camping World
Made an appointment to have two recliners repacked under warranty. I initially spoke with Krista in service who scheduled my appointment for the next day.
Upon arrival I spoke with Krista who had all my paperwork ready for signing and we did a walk around of my unit. Within 30 minutes they had the unit by the bay ad were getting ready to install my recliners. Approximately 1 hour later I received a call that the recliners were replaced and the unit was ready to be inspected.
I went inside and noted they had installed the new recliners. There were some foot tracks from going in/out of the unit, which should have been cleaned since I brought it to them clean. But overall the recliners looked great.
I saw the Old recliners they took out and disassembled in the boxes the new ones came in. Not thinking about my remote controls which were left in the storage compartment of the old recliners, I hooked up my unit and drove home.
When I got home and parked my unit, I went to do a further inspection on the recliners, upon opening the storage area I remembered this is where I kept my remotes for stereo/tv/outside tv. I immediately called camping world and told them the remote will be in the center console of the old recliners. About 15 minutes later I got a voice mail from Krista advising they found one remote. I advised her that all 3 are kept together ALWAYS, and to please have someone go thoroughly through the boxes to ensure they are not overlooked and thrown out.
It has been 1 hour since I last spoke to Krista, let's keep our fingers crossed they find the other 2 remotes, doesn't make sense you find 1 and not the other 2?
I will keep you all posted, as of this review I will give Camping World of Lake City 4 stars out of 5, if they find my other remotes they will receive a 5 of 5
Total Rip off / Deceptive Sales Practices
Salesman Jori Stewart was willing to endanger my 7 year olds life for an over priced sale.
He and Camping World took full advantage of my lack of knowledge on RVs, towing, and my situation of facing homelessness to sale me a Camper trailer that He promised my vehicle could tow. I went to pick the trailer up and thankfully my vehicle has a safety feature that did not allow Jori Stewart to hook the trailer up to my car.
My towing limitations were laid out in our very first communication.
Camping World General Manager Austin Thornton said that the best he could do for me was trade the trailer in. Trade in value being $28k when they sold this trailer to me for $60,555.66.
They are expecting me to take a $32k loss for a Camper that I was never able to pick up. I requested to rescind the loan 24 hours after signing and realizing I could never tow this thing safely.
Beyond frustrated and disappointed! We dropped our camper off 2/17/24 for warranty repairs and as of 6/12/24 its still not done! I have contacted the corporate office and this has not helped. I can't seem to get timely replies to emails of phone calls, always excuses from them when I do get to speak to someone. My extended warranty for exterior issues(peeling graphics) were denied because the service department didn't submit it before the warranty expired in April, even though I dropped off & reported in February. I.M.O. Steer clear!
Worst ever! Bought a forest river 2023 new. Made it 20 miles down hiway and the roof peeled off, a 10 yard strip of aluminum and hit 3 cars behind us. Awful mess, towed it back to CW and they said no returns sorry. They would take it back on trade off course it depreciation 20K in 20 minutes.
This place in Concord nc was the worst place we went to look at the campers and to get prices and was treated horrible and now I know my family wasn't the only one I seen other reviews and I see why now why they push u so hard to buy buy buy now I seen reviews that they sale crap...oh and the sale rep had us on golf cart about thew my daughter and husband and I off it because we said we was just looking at this point lucky my husband had my 2 year old or would have been lawsuit
I have a whole list of grievances with Camping World. But even after talking with corporate for the Thor motor company, which is the type of rig I purchased there's still giving me the runaround at Camping World. I called Camping World corporate. They called Camping World Vacaville and they were supposed to take care of everything. I had an appointment with the finance manager and she said I wouldn't have to pay for any of the fixes. They were going to take care of. It went back and dropped off my camper today and they are trying to make me pay for it now. The first time I needed some work done. I dropped off my rig to gentleman that sold me my RV took my key said here I'll take it back for you and get it set up for you for the repairs three or four days into the repair that they had my rig, I got a call from the service desk and said we found an extra set of keys. We're gonna send them to you, so when I got to set of keys it was my set of keys that I dropped off with him not an extra set at all, so how in the world are they going to work on my rig when they sent me my keys back And it had already been like five days. Unbelievable. I called and talked with him about this right away. The gal said well hold off. Let me see what I can do. Give us a few days so I waited another four days. Never got called back nothing ever happened. Nothing ever was fixed so I went and picked up my rig and took it home, I found out from them A girl in the service department said oh well just because I didn't see upfront that the service there was an order was put in. I went to the back and they said they had a service order for me. That was a lie because when I went back to pick up my rig. Gentleman said nobody ever put a service order in for you, etc., anyway I'm pretty much done with Camping World do not buy from them. They are horrible but make up your own mind. I have a whole list of things that I could list here mistakes that they made but whatever.
On our way to Clear water, Florida with non-changeable reservations we hit a tree that destroyed our roof air and a vent to the point of allowing rain inside the travel trailer. Seeing the billboard ad for Camping World Lake Park, GA we just took a chance that they could at least try to waterproof the damage. Sara in service set everything up for us by not only offering to make a temporary cover but replace the whole unit as they had one in stock. Mathew Bennett removed the old one, inspected the roof for other damage and sent us on our way in an hour. Outstanding employees that made a bad day much better. Our thanks to them and the company the work for!
Camping world does not assist customers with defective products leaving them to deal with manufacturers themselves. Absolutely awful company on every level. Truly awful company and another example of how what used to be good companies are being put out of business. I would never consider buying actual RV from them after seeing how they fail to stand behind the products they sell.
Long story short. Had our rv picked up in February. Said we could pick up three weeks later. Went to pick up. One our later no rv. Where's it at? We had to find it. We could hav taken any rv out there. Brought home. They fixed one item out of five. Left screws out. Put tape on fake would. Peel it off and there goes the wood. Now it gets interesting. They continue to contact us to come pick up the camper. It's bin two months and they hav no clue.
I emailed the ceo of the company and nothing. Do not buy from them. Never again. The company needs to go away. The worst. Didn't want to give a rating because there is no minus.
Drove into camping world and bought a new set of entry stairs. Wrong ones.
Went back into camping world with grief,
Expecting the worst. However met Ray b.
Very pleasant sales rep at the counter.
She went up and beyond for us.
Life is a little easier when you meet nice people. Thank you Ray b for your outstanding customer service.
About a week after an expensive tent arrived (shipped from UK va FedEx to US), I got a duty bill from FedEx for 25% of the cost ($450). The purchase said free shipping, apparently not duty free shipping.
There was no way to calculate the duty fee. Customer service tells me they have a calculator on the site, but it's a joke. Unless you know where the item was made (which was NOT on there site) its impossible to calculate. A simple tent, bought in the UK, that was apparently made in china, has a huge tariff.
I was straight up told from customer service that it's impossible for them to know where every item they sell is manufactured... well guess what, if you don't have this info, the end user gets stuck with a bill. They simply don't care. Will never buy from them again. 0 Stars.
Answer: Honestly, the more I look to find answers on Camping world, the more negative reviews I see, had an RV dropped off a Forklift while I was signing papers! Try to beat that! New RV and dropped off a forklift. Worse yet, the corporate managers DID NOT WANT TO MAKE IT RIGHT, that folks is the legit truth! It's one thing for accidents to happen, it's another to not make things right, bad management!
Answer: Yes I have emails to show. That I have been promised a refund waiting this line I expect a full refund and the run around is with it. If would like I can forwarded you the emails and you can ask where's my check.
Answer: Terrible - didn't seem to care and basically told me I was on my own
Answer: The people at camping world will tell you that they will call you. BULL! They never called me, so I tried calling them FIVE times! Not one return call. Not very reputable!
Answer: Just keep writing letters to all of the local politicians.
