I have used Booking.com for years - BECAUSE IT'S EASY. Problem is they seem to be playing both sides against the middle for max profit. You cannot really rely on reviews, as most, if not all, appear to be "rigged" or written by someone who didn't stay at the same place you did! Owners are as greedy as Booking.com! I will never pay "in advance again" thinking review ratings and photographs are even close to being accurate reality - HA, they are not! I wonder how or IF they screen owners who list rentals. Some of them are downright scary, putting people in uncomfortable compromising situations.
Customer services are absolutely useless, using the chat service you get a different agent for each reply and no consistency. Make a booking, get given a price then have 130 dollars added on after confirmation. Avoid at all costs
In fact if there is provision for giving negative rating, that would be most appropriate for the kind of services offered by Booking.com
Not at all professional, stay away from them if you do not wish to land into trouble, humiliation and problem at eleventh hour.
What a bunch of thieves, charged me twice for the same thing, can't call them, hotel doesn't pick up and says you contact booking who don't pick after 40 minutes on hold.
Complete con artists, what a massive mistake, avoid them at all costs.
Price gouging criminal. Rather than welcoming guests, the bait-and-switch operation lures travelers seeking a clean room, only to leave them as dissatisfied as Sopranos finale viewers. A simple reduction in charges was all that was needed
Booked two rooms at a basic hotel that didn't take reservations over the phone. Made to use online booking. Got to hotel and it was literally scariest place I've ever been. Was told by people in parking lot that it was under investigation for drug dealing. The hotel had also just had a recent shooting. We left without receiving a refund. Called booking.com customer service lady was nice but put me on hold to call the property manager. I waited on hold forever then the phone just disconnected. The hotel was not a safe place to be at let alone sleep there. But the property had already been paid so they didn't care we left. Still waiting on my refund. Would not recommend using this online booking agency that offers reservations for such a shady place.
Never ever use a third party booking service, if you book direct changes are done with no fees. Booking.com ignores emails, blame the hotel for ridiculous inflated fee charges for changes in dates etc. make no effort to help you in any way shape or form, don't care that flights are delayed, deaths in a family etc. they string out contacting you so it takes weeks to get simple answers from them. They only h e contact details for their office in Amsterdam, fat lot of good that is from Australia. DONT USE BOOKING.COM
Chasing a refund their auto system advised is coming. 50 emails over 3 weeks still nothing from customer service. Total shocking poor bad service. Take a risk if u book with these booking.com anything goes wrong expect no support. Its really really bad.
No help, no refund when airline cancelled flights. Bought the insurance. They don't process claims. 30 days later had to dispute through my credit card company. First night stay was to be reimbursed, no refund. Never. Again. Wish I could give negative stars.
I have booked multiple properties recently which have either not been up to standard or booking.com has confirmed on the properties behalf that amenities are available when they haven't been. There is no way to get your money back or receive any quality assistance with these bookings. You're best to book directly and cut booking.com out completely.
My recent encounter with Booking.com was nothing short of a nightmare. I had diligently booked round-trip tickets from Vancouver to Toronto and back through their platform. The trouble began on the second leg of my journey when I arrived at the airport only to discover that my flight had been rescheduled without any prior notification, despite my ticket clearly stating an on-time departure.
To make matters worse, the airline staff at the airport shockingly denied me boarding, leaving me stranded with no clear guidance. In my moment of desperation, I attempted to contact Booking.com for assistance, but instead of providing support, they conveniently shifted the blame onto the airline. This complete lack of support and communication from Booking.com only compounded my frustration and disappointment as I missed my flight.
This has to be the single worst customer service for any company I've experienced in my life. Called at least ten times with people that. Once I communicate with someone they promised to call or email be back and never did. What they did was charge my cc right away instead of the date they had stated they would. I have never been treat so bad when spending 7000. 00 dollars. Will be my last experience with them ever!
Storm Eunice hit and all trains cancelled which consequently led to us not making it to the hotel. They refuse to give us credit to even just stay another day or give refund. With prices soaring it's disappointing that a massive corporation refuse to help a customer out. When I used to book as a business and they were very flexible because they only think about money. Don't get me wrong if everything is going smoothly, they are fine. Very disappointed
Watch out! Booking.com does NOT have your back with their zero cancellation fees. They will give you the run around just to make their commission. This is a scam and a waist of money! I have been dealing with booking.com for almost a month now trying to receive my refund, and they want to blame it on the hotel. What a JOKE, and total run-around scam of a website. I also tried calling and how convenient, their number was busy. If I could save someone else from getting ripped off please take this into consideration. Book only on the actual hotel site.
My daughter and 2 of her friends booked a trip to Italy through booking.com. Bottom line they booked a hotel in London through booking. Com because of major flight problems, $450 was taken from my daughter's checking account and when they realized she was 19 they cancelled her hotel, kept the $450 and refused to refund it and then tried to charge her a no show fee for an additional $300?! Those steps were done by the corrupt hotel who I strongly feel was taking advantage of the 3 young girls! Booking.com offered absolutely NO SOLUTION AT ALL! It's disgusting to basically steal from someone with no recourse! Myself and my wife booked an anniversary trip for September through booking. Com which we will now cancel! We are also going to go through legal channels now! Just unforgivable disgusting!
It's been now 4 months since I had made a booking and the hotel cancelled on me last minute. I've called them so many times and their email address never works, still no refund after so many promises and email claiming that it was done. At this point im just glad I've deleted my account, because I've wasted so much energy, time and money on calling them over and over to get this right. Stay away from them.
My only regret is that I did not come to check the reviews here before this experience, now I know to stick to airbnb
So I'm watching MSNBC on a Wednesday night when Bookings.com comes on with an advertisement making their last statement of "and we have free cancellations too". The owner of this company operates out of the Netherlands so don't believe what you hear cause it's fake news. If you gotta have a third party make reservations for you please find another one!
I reserved a hotel last October in Ostend for Easter 2022, They offer free cancellation and no pre-payment necessary. My wife used her debit card to reserve the hotel as I usually pay on arrival with my Clarity card which is fee free. My wife has just got her statement which shows a bank charge of £11.12 for an overseas transaction and the hotel inform me that booking.com took the money the day after we made the booking as I had not selected the pay at hotel option. Very sneaky and underhand. If you make a booking with no pre payment necessary you do not expect to be hoodwinked in thinking it was at the hotel and have to make another selection. BUYER BEWARE.
Asked a refund for a cancellation flight. Got the mail, called several times the customer service. Was assured being refund in two weeks. We are at almost 7 months. Now they don't reply anymore. And they have the courage to advertise trough all mass media?
We were charged twice for a 4 night stay. We also only stayed 1 night because the hotel room was infested with bed bugs and cockroaches. We were bitten at least 100 times. We informed Booking and sent them pictures of the bites, the roaches and the double charges on my Visa. They kept saying they were not receiving our emails and basically refused to help us. We ended up paying for 8 nights, stayed 1 and were in a horrible room. They did nothing. Expedia would have been far more helpful.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
