This company is cooked. Had an account for a while. I always had the autorenew box unchecked. Look at my bank statement and they renewed. Called the same day hours after the charge and an idiot named "Allan" said that it was non refundable. Asked to speak with a manager and said they would call me back in 2 hours. Well "Allan" is a liar much like this company. Save your money and get a more accurate card price by looking at what it sells for on ebay
The customer service at this company is amazingly bad. I think I'm going to cancel my subscription to the price guide and never send another item to them to be graded or authenticated again. If you're a good customer, they don't care. And I think it's not done on purpose, it's just total incompetence on the part of the company's employees, to the core. So I think I'm going to take my business elsewhere.
In late May I bought my 8-year-old daughter a subscription to a horse magazine published by this company. In late July the company told me she would not receive her first issue until September three months! I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Within days the company contacted me to say they were sending the first issue immediately. This is a very poor way to do business.
Unless ur grading a card that has potential to be 1k++ in worth don't grade ur card here. They make empty promises on there timelines. The companies website is outdated and they are a greedy company. 3+ months is now going on 10 months. They took submissions with false narratives of timelines. I hope people realize how unprofessional and outdated this company really is.
I sent (1) Fathers Day AAron Judge card and (1) Mothers Day card to be graded. They sent back (2) graded cards both with the title of Mothers Day. Simple typo mistake. No not with these guys, It's been 3 weeks and they still can't figure it out. Sent front and back scan of card but still nothing. One look at original order as compared to what they sent back and they should be able to figure it out.
Sent in 100 cards on a 30-day economy and was highly satisfied on the return with the box being safely padded with bubble wrap inside styrofoam, inside a cardboard box. That was my biggest worry, but it was great to see the cards after a near 9 month wait in these COVID times. Sure, the pandemic slowed things, but luckily I did this before the price increase. Have had all great experiences with Beckett. Cards look so much better encased by BGS than those skinny ones of PSA. Props to BVG/BGS.
I am heartbroken and disgusted with Beckett card grading. I bought a rookie hockey card over twenty years ago for a several hundred dollars. I was planning on giving it to my son and I wanted to know what it was worth. My son told me that the best card grading company was Beckett.
Well it has been over three weeks that they finished grading my card and the lost it. I have called several times and asked for management without any response.
I recommend you do not use this company. The apparently do really care about the customers only about the money. I spent over $300 to certify mail it, grade it and ensure they secure return mail to result in them losing my card. (9/14/2021)
The Star Wars price guide has so many products with no values listed. What good is a price guide with no values! On the back of the periodical it states "what's your Star Wars collection worth? Find out by reading this book!" How are you suppose to do that with no price values? Had I known how few values were listed, I would not have purchased the guide!
I am very disappointed in this company... there was no reminder email stating that my subscription was about be renewed. I called customer service and a snobby Brian, said that even though the charge was just yesterday that he can't do anything for me. I don't want this service, it is not helpful, it is expensive, and the prices listed for the cards do not represent the true market. I will do my best to instruct anyone I know that collects sports cards or is thinking about collecting sports cards to not use Beckett, don't buy Beckett magazines, and do not trust anyone that uses Beckett pricing to assess card value.
The worst customer service. Literally got a call and got yelled at from a rep in the east because I sent a check in email to the wrong person. Delayed turnaround times. Do not trust what you pay for, for grading turnaround times. Wildly disappointed lately.
I signed up for a 1-month subscription to price my card collection. Little did I know that I was signing up for an indefinite subscription, FALSE ADVERTISING in my opinion. They automatically renew your subscription without knowing it, as they bury the "policy" in their Terms. I called and they will not refund my money. This falls into the category of deception, lying, and stealing. A evil, heathen, anti-human company. I will not support them again and I hope you won't either.
I signed up on December 29,2011 for a ONE-MONTH subscription. I was never sent any e-mail notifying me that my account would auto-renew. I just noticed a credit card charge today and realized I had been charged for 7 additional months! What a joke and so sad to see a brand name, that I thought I could trust, ripping people off like this!
I just received your September issue and the only thing that is going up in value is every single Trout card. That's $#*!ing bull $#*!! There are plenty of players killing it it like: JD Martinez, Mookie Betts, Scooter Gennet, and the most under estimated player of all year: Jean $#*!ing Segura. Beckett is a lame $#*! source for valuing cards. Plus they're out sourced to some place in Malaysia. What in $#*! do they know? $#*! off!
I spent $77 to get an autographed baseball authenticated by Beckett. This was a baseball I personally purchased from the team store at the stadium for $250! The idiots at Beckett said it was "not authentic".
What a gigantic waste of money.
I had the exact same problem as the reviewers mentioned--auto-renew errors. I specifically unchecked auto renew, but was charged for 8 months of unused subscriptions (granted I should haved double check this before 8 months). I called "customer service" and was basically told it was my error.
I ordered a bronze package and when I asked about the submission form and I was a little confused I was told this
Bronze package has a free grading for a 10 day turn around service, however since we suspended the 10 day service we suggest to hold it off until our 10 day service is back. Submission under this package is valid for 1 year.
On the other hand, we have a non-guaranteed turn around service which would take 9 10 minimum to complete. $10 per card. You also have other options to choose from, 5 day service at $30 per card and 2 day at $40 per card.
After paying 117 for this service and now not available they still will not refund my money.
I ordered the hockey price guide and a baseball almanac during a promo for buy one get one thru their website.
They sent me the hockey guide and a football guide. Spoke with customer service and they said they had almanac when I placed order but did not have it when they pulled order.? Rep said they sent me football guide instead. He told me to return football guide ( I pay for return postage) and put a note on guide on what guide I would like instead of the one I ordered. I said I did not want another - I ordered a baseball almanac. If they were out of them the order should not have gone thru. I would not have purchased anything if I knew they had no almanacs. It is just a scam having a buy one get one when you don't get what you ordered. Will never deal with Beckett again.
I sent of 2 cards to be graded and only 1 card came back. I had insurance on the card but the claim was denied by FedEx because Beckett could not prove they actually shipped the card. Beckett tried saying someone from FedEx stole the card out of the box but the box was completely sealed and Untampered. Now they want to give me back $122 VS the 1000 to 1500 dollars the card is worth and was insured for. I chose Beckett over PSA because I thought they were better. I was so wrong and will never send a card to be graded with Beckett again. Be smart use PSA! I wish I would have…
The graders that work for Beckett are obviously amateurs at best. I sent in a 2019 card that was not even a day old from a pack and the card was returned as "trimmed" cannot grade. Are you serious here? Who trims a 2019 card? The problem is I sent in a single card on a 2 day service and I did not spend enough money with them. Google this problem and it is well known in the sports card community. This company is only in to take your money.
I wanted to purchase a price guide and accidentally purchased the organizer (thinking it would give me prices as I organized). The next day, when I realized it wasn't what I wanted, I purchased the price guide I wanted and asked for a refund for the organizer which I didn't want. They refused!
Answer: Its sad that a company that was a HUGE part of my childhood has turned into such a pathetic display. I used to get so excited when my Beckett arrived. I would love to see them crumble and be bought out by someone who cares and enjoys the hobby.
