I purchased a mini split from Alpine in January. It was installed in March and worked great for a few months. Unfortunately, the mini split stopped working in June just as the summer heat started up. I had a an HVAC technician come out who diagnosed the problem as a broken evaporator coil in the system which caused a refrigerant leak and the unit to stop cooling. Alpine agreed to send me a new part, but replacing the evaporator coil will cost me over $800 for labor.
Alpine told me to eat the cost and they could do nothing about it because of their policy for parts only. I would encourage anyone considering anything from Alpine to consider other options. The evaporator coil on a system should never break within 3 months and Alpine simply won't help with any repairs. I was clear that labor was not covered when I purchased, but it is an awful feeling to pay more than the cost of the system to replace a part that was essentially brand new.
I rarely write reviews, but I can't believe how little Alpine cares about their consumer. Policy should not get in the way of making a wrong situation right. I will NEVER buy anything from Alpine again.
Had mini split 10 months got around $6,000 dollars in total in it been waiting over 3 months for a part I'm not sure they can even get. Had to do most of winter freezing because of it now summer about here.
Alpine is great at helping answer questions about the process, the size of system, what is needed for installation and how to get everything set up. From diy or hiring someone.
Received a courtesy call after placing order verifying that I ordered a scratch & dent furnace. Shipping was quick. Would do business with Alpine Home Air again.
Ordered 2 air conditioner filters. Website said in stock. Received a "we received your order" email. Waited 3 weeks, giving the COVID times, no contact. Called customer service gave an order # then found my order but didn't know what happened. Sent me to products department, no one answered. Hung up. Next day call from products department. Stated out of stock and no plans to get any more. Asked what happened he said "I don't know someone dropped the ball. I'm just helping out by making this call". Nothing I can do. I asked to please refund my money next week not in 3 weeks. Really no one has any idea. Give me a break!
Don't believe this site. Alpine Home Products provides ‘Zero Support' after the sale. Bought two furnaces, one okay the other noisy as heck. Have asked multiple times for support but have been ignored, blown off.
They have a guy named Andrew who sends you sweet notes before the sale. However, it's BS. Buyer beware...
Mr. Gore was very informative about the Units purchaed and made me feel comfortable in making my purchase.
Been using Alpine home air for many years now. Always great service and always great availability with equipment!
I bought some replacement air filters for our furnace and air conditioner. It was an easy transaction with prompt and fast shipping. It is for these reasons I'm a multiple repeat customer with Alpine home and air and I would recommend them this company to anyone. They have good prices too.
Line sets are sent out ‘pre-flared'- flares are terrible. Pressure specs in manual are inaccurate- says check with nitrogen to 250 but after your $#*! blows on heating mode & you call in, tech tells you that he pressure checks to 500 psi. Also, missing codes in the code key in the manual. That's 3 strikes. Just want their piece of crap off my property now but they gaslight me & act like I'm the problem. This company needs to be held accountable. I will be contacting BBB. I have the hyper heat, 2 zone 18,000 btu mini split
I have bought from Alpine for several years and have found their Professional ism and knowledge of the products they sell to be no less than amazing. I have been an HVAC contractor for the last 45 years and have dealt with a lot of manufacturers and distributors and all of their products are what I would expect to see at the best supply houses. Most problems I'm reading about are due to poor shipping methods and rough handling. This is heavy equipment And usually requires 2 men to lift off a truck if you don't pay for lift truck service.
To quote famed baseball announcer Harry Caray, "Holy Cow!" I feel like I hit a home run with Alpine Home Air.
With no air conditioning and my furnace approaching 20 years of service, I decided a mini split would be the perfect addition to our home, not only to provide cooling for what appears to be a warming world, but also to provide backup heat in case of furnace failure. There are many, many good companies in the business of selling mini split units, and most of the units being sold are pretty much the same, so I introduced the cost into the formula, and Alpine Home was the best deal I found. That said, I expected cut rate service but wasn't worried because I feel I am competent enough to handle any problems and placed an order with them. I am happy to report that everything from ordering to shipping to technical advice was miles and miles ahead of anything I ever expected. The team at Alpine Home Air are, in my experience, without peers. "Wow" nowhere near expresses the support I received. What a great team. I hope they are well compensated because this group is the best.
Bought two units, split air, one unit, the circuit board fuse fault, solder in? Wow, make it to where can be push in fuse, they wanna sell me a $ NEW circuit board, heck, they dont even sell the fuse to solder in
Bought a 12k DIY mini split. Suppose to come fully charged, no need for Ac tech. Wasn't cooling well finally after hours on phone I had to pay $400 to properly charge system. Can't even get customer service to return phone calls. Been misled and out right lied to from start. Don't believe anything they say.
I bought 9 units and only 2 units work. Each has a different Error code and i as never able to fix them. I've called customer service on different occasions who of course want me to have a professional fix them. Even with an AC company calling, we weren't able to fix them. These units work for a few and then brake down. I live in Vegas and these units are not for here. I don't recommend this company or this brand.
This is my second Union from Alpine I purchased a mini split last year and a furnace this year mini split works great only had the furnace for 2 weeks so so far so good
They intice you to purchase equipment and then will set you up with a contractor after the sale but then when no contractor will warranty or willingly install the equipment. You are unable to return the equipment or are forced to lose money with restocking fees and shipping costs. Very bad business model and company does not treat its employees with respect from what I have seen.
Works a treat cools the room beautifully. Many thanks
We have legitimate warranty claim and it's their policy for the customer to ship at customer's cost ($200) the broken part to the company before they will ship a new one to the customer, again at the customer's cost of another $300. That's $500 to just get the part that is supposed to be covered under warranty. No labor is covered either. So, the customer is completely out of pocket on the whole of the repair.
Alpine is a bad company to buy from. They have 22 BBB complaints with another from us to come. A stab in the side, the part is sitting in a warehouse nearby us, but our contractor is not allowed to pick it up. Shame on you Alpine Home!
Ordered an air conditioner via phone on March 15th. My credit card was charged (over $3,000) and they told me it would be delivered within five business days. On Friday the 19th, I called to get an update on the shipping status. I was told the unit was backordered and would not arrive until sometime in May! I asked, "When were you going to tell me that?" and he said they should have told me when I called to order it, because it was on backorder then! Now waiting on refund. I can't go for two months in FL without air conditioning! Very poor customer service.
Answer: They're legit. Like most minisplit vendors, their units are either rebadged Midea or rebadged Gree (depending on the product line). Customer service good, units work with no issues.
