My account creation had been pending for over a week and Elena was super helpful and helped my activate my account and answered all of my questions!
Elena went above and beyond the call of duty to help me with my rental listing after I found a tenant. She recommended how best to communicate this in the system, helped me calculate fair rental value of my unit using the web site and other things which made my experience easy.
I spoke with Elena and she was very sweet, nice and helpful. Look forward to talking to her again!
Very good support. It took time and resolve my issue by looking at all issues.

This site barely works. It always gets stuck. It lags always no matter what browser you use. Avoid this site if possible. They need a need web designer to just redo the whole site
This website fraudulently charged my account $79 although i didn't purchase/subscribe anything from them. I called a few times but couldn't reach anyone at their office. So i left voice mail messages.
It seems as though you are getting several interested renters however most of the contact info you are sent by the site are dead ends. Out of 200 or so potential renters I may have made contact with 3. It seems to be a collection of empty email addresses and phone numbers. On top of that they run the recurring charge scam. They will just keep charging you into perpetuity whether or not you log in or engage with them. I wasted my time and money with them hopefully those that read this review do not do the same.
If I could give 0 or negative stars, I would. For almost a YEAR - with multiple attempts to resolve this, they have been ignoring MAJOR issues like the inability to update a listing. They either say "everything looks good on their end" OR acknowledge many technical issues but do nothing about it! Keep charging. They are a scam because section 8 voucher holders are stuck using just this website, no other choice is available. This website charges landlords a lot of money and does NOT serve the public. The customer service denies the problems - ridiculous. The worst website I ever used, and the sad thing is that we are FORCED to use it. Give us gosection8.com back!
I also am a 2 time victim of a scam on affordable housing. I would never have imagined that the system would have allowed the low income the disabled the veterans the elderly and so many other unfortunate souls that are down on their luck to be had by tow-bit crooks. Other companies have secure websites for their customers. I don't understand the main reason in this scenario but I do see that the people who are on housing are placed in a situation that can cause ruin! I have struggled so much just to find a place for my family my dogs and I to call home. I am on section 8 and just in the last 6 months alone I have experienced eviction discrimination continuously rejected I've been subjected embarrassed harassed I've been served I've been made a fool of by scammers now Im broke the health of my family and I has declined and for what so that these petty thieves can get a coffee from Starbucks with their big earnings of stealing from vulnerable people? I kind of have an idea how they come across our information. It's weird that they knew exactly what I were looking for and where! I'm going to start to research some of my suspicions and if I come up with the answers to our problem I think everyone who was wounded by these scams will receive a compensations from their enablers!
This site allows so-called owners to advertise their rental properties on this site without anyone doing research on the owners and allowing the owners to scam people out of their money thinking that this is a reputable website and a trusted website which neither is true have been trying to reach out several times to make contact with somebody so I can get assistance and I have sent them the information of the homeowner that has misled and scammed me under the pretense of them being with affordable housing website Merry Christmas to me and my son. Can't move now with lease ending in January.
We are sorry to hear what happened to you and your son. I wanted to assure you that we screen all owners/landlords that sign up on the website using advanced fraud prevention software and do our best at keeping scammers out of our system. DO NOT ever sign up for this website. It's used to be gosection8.com and changed it to affordablehousing.com. It 's SCAM website, and will take your personal info, and money if you give credit card info to them. DO NOT EVER go there. There are many trusted websites such as zillow.com, trullian.com, craigslist.org... to look for house rental.
BEWARE! THIS SITE IS A SCAM.DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! I HAVE BEEN SCAMMED TWICE! NONEOF THE PLACES ON HERE ARE AVAILIABLE. These same homes listed are listed in other places as well with higher rent because they arent the home owners on this site. Dont let them fool you they can override the key pads for entry and allow you to view properties that they dont own. They will take your app fee and take the rent higher knowing you wont qualify. If you see the name Atieh Ardameh run as fast as you can she takes application fees then raises the rent so its unafordable. Then she moves on to her next victim. I wouldnt say beware of this website I say avoid it at all cost!
If I could give the place zero stars I would. Please retrain your people from the bottom to the top
As a home owner and user of this service to get tenants... its ridiculous the level of help you don't get from this company... DO BETTER... THIS COUNTRY NEEDS YOU TO DO BETTER BECAUSE ITS ENOUGH NEGATIVE PEOPLE WALKING AROUND HERE DAILY..
I am in an emergency situation for voucher housing, and they're search engine doesn't even work. I can't set a min or max price, or any other information. What is the point of this trash site? It's not to help disabled people like me.
They are giving scammers your information. They have a pre screen feature to apply. I just found the place I wanted with a different address same pictures on a distressed property rehabbed by the state. Beware!
Slow, not working website, customer service is useless. It's a SHAME that so many low income participants and landlords providing affordable housing DEPEND on this website, and the website is absolutely useless. Seems that their problem is with IT- so there is no normal service for months in a row. Not recommended. (I represent a property management company with 90% of sect 8 tenants) If anyone knows who, what GOVERNMENT authority should we all contact and ask them to make this website actually serve its purpose, please contact that agency and DEMAND to use a different vendor. I would greatly appreciate it.

On September 2021 I Posted my house on their website and paid $79 for one month service. After 20 days they suspended.my account. I called they said back in October of 2017 (4yrs ago) I opened an account and never paid. They were also upset that I reported them to BBB back in 2017. I finally managed to talk to Ula. She said you never paid for service in 2017. I said I did pay for October of 2017 and then you charged me for November as well. I called my credit card company and reversed the November charge and on same day you (11/21/2017) you suspended my account. You can't suspend my ad and ask for payment for a service you didn't give me. So Ula said. Ok then send me credit card statement showing you paid for October 2017. So I did. It shows October I paid. November I canceled November payment and their service stopped same day (11/21/2017). I emailed it to Ula repeatedly and called and left her messages repeatedly. But she is ignoring me. Funny how she was available right away to say I owe them money. But now that I have proof she's not answering. Interesting part is I paid them for service up to September 2021 (30 days) they suspended my account after 20 days but want the entire 30. Day payment. What a crooks. Even more interesting is that the account from 2017 and 2021 have 2 diffy names, phone numbers, and email address. But they link them together.

I really don't like writing negative reviews But I have to warn you guys. I was recently approved for a voucher I was super excited and was happy that someone was helping but it turns out he was a scammer smh then after him 3 more landlords more scamming I'm glad I know what red flags to look at now. I really thought this was a safe site and landlords were really wanting to help they didn't get me for much but I did pay 100.00 in application fee with out even seeing the house in to blame I just excited and to trusting. Iam a single mother and I live off of a fixed income and the fact that these landlords didn't care to rip you off was soo sad and disppointed! This is why I have trust issue my voucher is soon to expire soon and I honestly don't think I will find some real help on that site. So much for really getting excited about having a home for me and my kids. Please be aware you guys this site isn't Secure..
