Lifetime warranty adventures *updated
October 13, 2024

** updated 11/1/24 ** added a star back - Xidax Operations reached out to work on resolving the issue/ customer recovery - have to give them big ups for taking the initiative to reach out, as this is not a simple situation... will update as we resolve
(did finally receive pc back, with upgrades ordered along with a cpu upgrade, courtesy of Xidax to offset delay (to be fair, they still did not have the ordered cpu in stock at the time, so it was a bit of a punt at that point) - delivery via fedex was a nightmare, fedex customer service has continued to get progressively less honest/ competent as fedex has added additional obstacles to customers actually getting service... pc rode around on fed ex truck from 5am to 10pm, passed 20 feet from porch on way cross town at 930 that night. Then delivery updated to monday (instead of friday) based on 'operational delay' [fedex code for we REALLY screwed this one up] - managed to pick it up myself from depot saturday evening, after being sequentially misled by fedex customer disservice... extended ridearound managed to knock the AIO cooler loose from rails and bend rails, i was able to re-seat and secure (damage is cosmetic, just another sting - ON THE UP SIDE - pc is well built, runs like a dream - absolute nerdgasm on the build, only negative was the bad taste the Sisyphusian task of getting it fished out of the void, repaired and returned has left in my metaphorical mouth.)

Originally purchased a pair of gaming pc's in 2017 from Xidax and the builds have performed well - quality components, solid builds. Have done a few component upgrades on one over the years, finally hit the point where we were pretty effectively bottlenecked at cpu/ motherboard and was looking at upgrade options when the cpu, overcome by existential ennui, self immolated (in a contained fashion)... so, definitely time. Contacted the Xidax team and paid return shipping, followed directions on having UPS pack it and off it goes...
Case gets broken in transit... looks like we're upgrading that too... mind you, this is a mid-line x-6 unit, kind of the bread and butter of their offerings... signed off on a significant mobo, cpu upgrade (along with new ram, fans, cooler) and paid the tab... knew that there might be some delays since i had opted for an AMD cpu, was told they should have them in a couple days... here is where things gang aft a-gley...

No communication, no follow up - not even able to get through on phones for 3 days running (other than the 'if you would like a callback on this number...' - tried that - got an unmarked call, no message... not sure I'm gonna score that as a 'callback'... did manage to engage with a sentient today, and the 'may be delayed' has become 'we're still waiting on those (two weeks later...)' - to best of my knowledge, micro center, newegg and amazon all have those chips available from recent searches, though I'm sure team X is using a more professional vendor... with delays...

So, the wait continues and the dude abides - while I have been absolutely ecstatic about the quality of their product overall, their service focus and logistics seem to leave a lot to be desired... will update as the story unfolds...

We are currently 4 weeks+ into the adventure - spent almost 2 hours being ping ponged in their 'livechat' friday, through 5 different reps, spoke their customer service manager and was assured that I'd have shipping info that day... still waiting... apparently, the rot is all the way through. Sad evolution of a company that used to rock the house.

Tip for consumers:

seems to be a significant amount of churn/ chaos at xidax. both internal and external communication seem to be extremely poorly executed - might need to try to get team on same page... again

Products used:

initial purchase was 2 machines, an x6 and an x2... warranty/ repair/ upgrades in current situation were to the x6 machine

Bought TOP-of-the-line Pre-built (~$4900): Everything sent to me malfunctioned!
July 17, 2023

I purchased a RTX 4090 / 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-*******K / Maximus Hero MB/ Ect.
Sent to me completely broken, all malfunctioning to the BSOD almost immediately. After several attempts to fix an assumed software issue, Xidax insisted I pay $100 dollar repair charge, print out their label, and send it back for examination. After 12 WEEKS without update (I tried 8 times to contact them) I was finally told they replaced my AIO, GPU, and CPU. He also had the gull to say "There you are! You're a hard person to get ahold of! :)" Of course I insisted I speak with a manager/supervisor to refund my repair costs at the minimum but what I really wanted was the same pre-built PC with all new serial numbers (same model prebuilt), as well as a once-over by the tech team before sending me another faulty machine.
The day I was supposed to be called by them (they've never called me but promised 9 times at this point) I received an email update that my PC has been shipped back to me. I was upset but I figured if it all works fine, I'll be pissed about paying 100 extra bucks to repair a brand new machine they sent to me broken, but I would just charge it to the game and be happy with a functioning PC for the massive price tag I paid. Guess what? ITS STILL BROKEN! I was just working with microsoft tech support and they "strongly recommended" that I reach out the the builder about malfunctioning sound cards and bluetooth card.
Obviously, this is the last straw, I am here writing a review (I never do this) to save you all from a very lazy and possibly sleazy PC builder. With so many great options with great reviews, why would you risk it with Xidax? For those of you that choose to ignore this, Good luck!

**RIP to my $5,000, I am currently waiting for a reply for my request for another repair/replacement as I type this review.**

Tip for consumers:

God help you if you actually need real support for a product you purchased from them. Also, don't expect them to care about your future business.

Wtf is wrong with people? They started my build the SAME day after I ordered during COVID..
March 31, 2022

I don't understand what is wrong with people these days. Sure your mad/afraid over whatever it may be, the PLANdemic or the war with Russia and Ukraine. Maybe their wife is leaving them because they are a horrible human being, whatever the case it's wrong to channel that anger towards Xidax. I'm just a customer with zero affiliation to them, sure some won't believe me but that's irrelevant. I still feel the need to give them a positive review and I haven't even got my rig yet. Hats off to Xidax for starting my build literally the SAME day after I ordered EVEN during such a weird time, I have screenshots to prove that. They get it. Even though they know there will be delays during this PLANdemic they still do their jobs and obviously don't use said PLANdemic as an excuse to cut corners. It's embarrassing as a human being to see so many reviews cry over such trivial things. One review literally cried over Xidax forgetting to include manuals, uh really? Manuals? You can get literally every bit of info those useless manuals have online usually in greater detail from multiple sources with a 3 second Google search, all of them. Look I get it, you don't know anything about PCs and is yet another tool in a sea of tools who buys a prebuild because of course they couldn't build a PC even with someone holding their hand showing them how to do it, so they need some manual written by a Chinese guy in extremely horrible English. I bought a prebuilt because I'm lazy and rather not go through the stress of building one again. It's very simple to do. The wires literally connect only a single way and some are even color coded so even the braindead idiots can figure it out. However people who are less than braindead come on here and say they are "disgusted" with Xidax? Really? "Disgusted?" Uh what? I get being disgusted with cold food at a restaurant but a PC building company? Are you slow or something? If I had a kid that spoiled I would immediately drop him off at a random intersection and watch him run for me in the rearview, seriously. Some people in this country deserve it. You grow up to be extremely dumb and cause a perfectly good company to lose out on business because morons read what other morons raged about in an extremely unfair review. So you were mining and fried your gpu, how is that Xidax's fault? They don't sell used graphics cards, you're just biased and have zero common sense. It's no secret kids these days are trash in every way a person can be. I'll bet everything I own every negative review is from a child or someone with the mental capacity of one. This review won't negate all the unfair reviews but it will negate at least one of you bums. I am so glad I didn't listen to any of the negative reviews and used critical thinking and made up my own mind. Critical thinking is a dying art. Decide for yourself, listening to the negative reviews will ultimately cause you to buy a PC from a company that actually is as terrible as your reviews suggest.

Tip for consumers:

Don't listen to the crybabies, you'll thank me later.

Faulty Rig With Constant Problems Also Scummy Customer Service
November 26, 2021

I bought a new gen rig after I was referred to them by a friend, it took well over a month for the thing to arrive after they had told me it would only take a week. And when the PC finally did arrive, it arrived damaged. Someone had hit the box repeatedly on one side and the tempered class cover was cracked ( THIS IS WHY NO ONE SHOULD USE UPS!)I took pictures of the box for insurance purposes but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and set up the PC because I needed to get back to working from home. Everything seemed fine when I was browsing the system, but when I fired up a game it started to get really hot, so hot that after an hour before noticing it had shut itself off because of an overheat. I figured maybe I or the PC set some stuff too high, nope the game's setting were on lowest of the low BY DEFAULT which was odd. So I ran out of time and tried to log in to my work program which uses some graphical rendering to function, the system began to fry and shut itself off again. So I contacted customer support the same day and told them what was going on, and they tell me to send it back to them. I asked them how I go about doing that since the machine was under warranty and they told me I had to pay for the shipping. WTF!? Shipping was covered by your warranty, why in the hell am I paying for shipping all of a sudden!? Maybe I misread the statement, so I sucked it up and spent like 60 bucks sending it back to them. ONE WEEK LATER they finally get back to me saying it was a motherboard issue and was being sent back to me. FIVE DAYS LATER the PC finally arrives, and it arrived damaged, AGAIN. I took more pics and I contact customer service saying that I asked them not to use UPS and you said you wouldn't and lo and behold you lied to me and did it anyways. Then the guy got snarky and said "We always use UPS so whoever you asked to not use it didn't pass you the memo. Haha" This dude really just laughed at the end of that sentence, wow. So I hook the thing up again while I was still in the chat with this guy via tablet, turned on the PC and everything seemed fine. I decide to load up another game from my Steam library, an older game, nothing graphic intensive, about 20 min into the game it shuts off from yet ANOTHER OVERHEAT! I go onto the chat and said "Dude, I just hooked this thing up 30 min ago and it's still overheating! You said you guys fixed the problem WTF!?" he responds with "Oh no! Send it back to us and we'll fix it up!" I respond with "I am not paying another 60 bucks in shipping to send this back, and I went over the insurance agreement before I messaged you and it states that you ARE supposed to cover the shipping so you owe me for the shipping from last time." the response to that: "I am pretty sure we don't cover shipping but I'll ask my boss anyways." 20 minutes later he comes back and says they emailed me a voucher to print out and bring to the post office. Great, that should have happened the first time but whatever as long as I get that money back and the thing is fixed right? RIGHT? WRONG. Another 5 days rolls by and they contact me saying this time the problem was with the RAM and that it was faulty so they replaced it. So I said "Great, how much longer is it gonna take to get it back here?" The guy responds with "As soon as you send a payment for the shipping it we will get it out to you ASAP." I am struggling not to yell at this dude over the phone at this point, so I say "No sir, I am not obligated to cover shipping costs as that is not in the insurance papers. Nor should I have to pay shipping after you sent me a damaged rig twice after I told you both times not to use UPS. And I feel you still owe me for that 60 I spent unlawfully on the last shipment" He responds with "I'm sorry that you feel that way, but our insurance policy does say that shipping is not covered by us." Me: "No sir, it clearly states that you cover shipping costs I am physically holding the paper you sent me in my hand reading it out loud to you." Them: "Oh that must be an error or an old version of our policy, we no longer cover shipping costs." At this point I have had enough "I want to speak to your manager, I want a refund." Extremely unprofessional experience this was, and I bet that rig was gonna come back damaged a 3rd time had I kept that going. Xidax is terrible now, maybe they used to be good in the past but something happened and now they are scum. 0/5 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Tip for consumers:

Make sure what they offer matches the paperwork, and try and get them to not use UPS or you may experience what I did.

God damn bull$#*! spiteful $#*! people
August 3, 2021

I order a high end pc. They give me different parts than what i asked for and when it arrived it was overheating. And to top it off when i try to get ahold of the incompetent $#*! $#*!s that built my pc and they talk to me like im $#*!ed like them. I end up seeing that my fans on the radiator didnt spim n they didnt believe me and acted like im doo doo dummy. I ended up fixing it myself bc im a g. But wait theres more... i told my friend about this cash money website like YO YO YO GO TO $#*!DAX THEY GIVE YOU FREEBIES AND HAVE A LIFE TIME WARRENTY YO YO YO LETSSS GOOOO! He gets it. Same issue with over heating but unlike me he got a way more blingy and pricey compooter but we couldnt fix it. He ended up sending it back twice! And theyt reated him like $#*! on the floor. And they broke his cpu by running a benchmark for ta thread ripper (he has a amd ryzen 7 5800x) and $#*!ing melted my mans $#*! like the water in his aio was boiling bc it shot to 104c. They ended up realizing they cant hear or read, the iliterate bastards had his order number wrong and after realizing he ended up taking a $#*!ing $#*!box to the drag strip and melted its $#*! hes like " yeah imma need you to send it back for repairs. Sorry" and they wouldnt refund him. And when they sent it back the first time it had the same issue so they either lied about 'reseating the cpu, ram sticks, aio. Updated bios and software. And applied new thermal paste' "apparently" yeah but the real kicker is these apes been doing this for 20 years?!?!?!? Smooth brain, exotic cricket looking asses need to take their goofy asses back to disney. Hyuck.

Tip for consumers:

dont unless you can fix it yourself. please i beg of you never use these liars for a pc.

Great For The Tech Savvy
December 4, 2020

I understand some complaints as there were times it seemed some like customer service employees didn't care once I had paid, but these were actually outweighed by times where the actual salesmen were amazing - especially Nick and Drew. Nick didn't try to upsell me. In fact in some cases Nick pushed CHEAPER parts because he said I wouldn't need the more expensive ones (For example, he said a 3090 would be overkill for my planned uses and a 3080 was fine since this was my entry into PC gaming). There WERE a few times he pushed more expensive parts since I was willing to make my first gaming PC one that would last, ultimately seeking a mid-range rather than entry level, as well as needing a PC that would render raw 4K 360 videos I shoot, but as a as a tech savvy guy he was able to work with me, and explain the ins and outs and importance of each piece and provide me 2 or 3 options to pick from.

I called multiple times. I built a machine that was a perfect fit for me. And ultimately because of how this company works, I actually spent about 230 LESS then if i built it myself because they get the parts cheaper and added a sale discount (I paid 2870 for a 3100 dollar PC). The main parts ALONE were 180 less not including stuff like wiring and glue.

So the trick is that you DO have to let them install Xidax software on your PC. But I'm not gonna turn my nose up at a free anti-virus. Or a free annual PC checkup. Yes that's mandatory or your warranty is void, but I'll gladly do it if it means a lifetime warranty on my PC.

And i understand I'll have to buy parts from them to keep the warranty but... I had a great experience so gladly will! The issue's didn't actually arise until shipping. After a couple months waiting on a 3080, it came in. It wasn't communicated to me how one of the SSD drives was also backordered, and they had no estimate on when to expect that. They said one week, but it took a month before they finally offered my a similar options. Good news there was while waiting I was able to get them to swap out my CPU from a 3950XT to the new 5900X and I'd been waiting so long they swung it so I broke even.

They made it hard to get, and they couldn't set a shipping time (I worked on the original arrival date). They finally said they would pay to reroute it to my local UPS store since it requires a signature. I got confirmation it's in so finally get my monster tomorrow!

So ya... I technically haven't used it yet... But I can update this review if anything goes wrong with the PC (If there's no update within a week of this posting, assume everything went right... In the end.)

Absolutely Atrocious. Laptop overheated to 134F and can't even handle Warzone.
July 5, 2020

I bought a $2800 laptop from Xidax in 2018 and have had problems with it from the beginning. Running Far Cry 4 - yes, FAR CRY FOUR - it overheated to 105F and shut off. I called them and had to send it in. They sent it back. I then tried activating G-Sync, since I ordered a G-Sync display in it. Well, it turns out they sent me a laptop without a G-Sync display in it. It even has a G-Sync sticker on the laptop! I have updated all of the drivers, tried everything, and have found that this monitor does not support G-Sync. I mentioned this to them, and they did not offer to replace it, they offered to give me STORE CREDIT of ~$700! I was absolutely blown away. So I tried playing Destiny 2 when it came out for free last year, and my laptop got SO hot that I LITERALLY could not put my hands on the WASD keys. I took my temp reader for my bearded dragon and lasered the laptop and it read 134F on the surface of the laptop. I did not type that wrong - 134F. I was blown away at the fact that this laptop was running this hot and hadn't shut down yet - and five seconds later, it shut off. I called them again, and they told me "these new gaming laptops are made to run this hot. It must be another program you are running." I know it's not another program I'm running, because I don't run any programs that run in the background. I have an Elgato, Audition, Movie Studio, Chrome, Photoshop and a few games. That's it. Nothing that would run secretly in the background and interfere with a game. So I just decided to try and run Warzone today for the first time (since I'm usually on PS4) and I barely dropped into a match when my laptop shut off. There's no way I could not write a review on this horrible company that claims to create "the best gaming PCs in the galaxy". Do yourself a favor and STEER CLEAR of this website. I bought a CyberPower Laptop 7 years back and it was absolutely insane. Lasted me 4+ years, probably only got shut down when I went to and from classes. Got a laptop from Sager PC for my girlfriend and it was okay, but it wasn't a real gaming laptop. It was low-end and I never used it to play anything - So I guess what I just said about Sager PC is completely pointless - honestly throw that opinion completely out the window. Anyway, for what it's worth - steer the Hell clear of Xidax. It's cheaper for a REAL reason. I'm still paying off the credit card bill two years later, and I have a gaming laptop that I can't even play a game on, and a payment I can't even make a freakin' dent in. So yeah. Thanks Xidax.

Go anywhere else but here
January 11, 2016

I was shopping around for quite some time. Xidax SEEMED solid so I ordered a XM-10 laptop for a little over $3333. 75. I had it rush delivered because I was excited to get it. Absolutely no issues. It was built and shipped quickly.

Before I even opened the box, I checked out their website to find an XM-11 with thunderbolt and dual graphics. I wanted thunderbolt. I messaged a rep and asked if I could send mine back and have it configured. The rep said that I could send it back and they would build me a NEW XM-11 which was cool. I paid the difference of over $500 to add thunderbolt and the dual graphics and the rep made it clear that as soon as my XM-10 is received then the guys at Xidax can start building my XM-11. I ship this laptop back immediately and bit that cost of +$50. It was slated to arrive on November 30th but it arrived December 2nd. Thanks USPS.

A few days go by and I'm thinking that my order is being built and I'm getting excited. I hadn't heard anything from Xidax however - I received no build photos - no updates - nothing. I message a rep on December 9th to then find out that the XM-10 was never accredited to my account although it was received a week prior. He said that the person who dealt with accrediting orders was out sick so it never happened - yet he was able to do it right there and then during our conversation? I was pissed off. Fortunately, the rep was nice and accommodating. He said that he would expedite the whole order and that I was likely to receive it on Saturday the 12th. I was leaving the country for a few days on the 14th so I was excited that he'd be able to make that work. He also gave me 2 game codes. He gave me my tracking info so I could stay in the loop with my order. Thursday I get an email that the laptop cant run Windows 7 for some reason so I agree to Windows 10 Pro. Outside of that I see no updates on the Xidax Order Tracking page - and to my amusement I see that my order was supposed to ship on the 8th! HA It was the 10th and there still werent even build photos. I message a rep that night and he has absolutely no answers for me. He said he would message me Friday, 9AM Central time. I never hear from the guy. So I message them AGAIN. I ask the rep whats up with my order. I explained to him that I was supposed to receive the laptop on Saturday - guy has no idea whats going on. Finally he emails me. "Your order will be shipping on monday!" I am so pissed off. I let him know that I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Xidax. He doesn't even bother answering me and this guy is supposedly the Vice President of the company. Saturday I start seeing updates on my order. I ask the same rep if he would be shipping out my laptop expedited since Xidax $#*!ed up so many times. Doesn't bother answering. The laptop then ships monday evening. I check the tracking number and it was sent out GROUND. After all the bull$#*! I had to deal with they ship it out ground.

I receive my laptop on Monday 21st. The first thing I realize is that Xidax had FALSELY ADVERTISED. The website had a video of the XM-11 that shows a laptop with a Thunderbolt 2 port. I ordered this laptop thinking that it would have TB2 because I have a lot of hard drives with it. What arrived was a laptop with TYPE-C USB/Thunderbolt 3 - XIDAX NEVER advertised this on their site. I was really annoyed. I messaged a rep with my frustrations and suggested that they be more specific on their site so that they don't deceive other customers and they have yet to do so. THEN I realize that I DONT HAVE THE DUAL GRAPHICS CARD. I am furious. I messaged a rep immediately to make sure and he tells me that they gave me the Desktop version of the 980 graphics card. He says that I can send it back at no cost and they will fix it and send it back. But WHY THE F*** would I want to keep working with this unreliable company? I was so fed up that I just told him I wanted to return the laptop. At this point he asks for my number and calls me. We speak and I tell him that I wouldn't want to have a computer from an unreliable company. He doesn't even really try too hard to keep me as a customer and says that he will send me the return info. The real kick in the teeth is that they refused to cover shipping. That is poor customer service. I wouldn't be returning the laptop if Xidax hadnt messed up. I bit the shipping cost again. It arrived January 4th and I've emailed them and have yet to hear back. A week later and no one answers me emails - again. I call twice and finally get a refund receipt.

Anyone looking to invest in a laptop LOOK ELSEWHERE. This ordeal has set me back on work and personal projects. I work in the NY film industry which is a tight knit community and you better believe you me, I will never recommend Xidax to anyone. Congratulations Xidax on spoiling a relationship with a customer and ruining a chance to gain many more.
