Title sums it up. Great design set up - but then nothing works and you can't get help. Premium was supposed to include free email and domain, but then they are charging and it turns out it was only for one year. I am leaving.
For the issue that I had, i was told to email 'abuse' (I am assuming this must reflect the treatment the customer will receive!). I did, but the problem was not resolved, so I wrote back explaining why, and they simply wrote back with the SAME email (bot response?). I called customer service, and was put on hold for 30 minutes to talk to a 'supervisor' who immediately started yelling at me and repeating, you got it, the SAME email. I tried to explain that this will not resolve the problem, but he simply spoke louder, interrupting, and repeating. 1 hour later, nothing was resolved. I called back, nicer person, but nothing was resolved. There is no way to speak to anyone who actually has both the knowledge and authority to troubleshoot and solve a rather simple issue. Too bad, because my experience with building the website was generally positive, but without customer service and respect, there is no reason to use this company.
My dissatisfaction comes from couple of things:
1. You can't call them, they'll call you! Try hard to find out how.
2. Their costs for the plans are switch & bait. You save initially until subscription is about to expire. When you renew or try to save with another plan, you lose subscription time, both on the hosting and the domain name - weeks and even more than a month. So you're not truly saving if you're paying for less than the 12 months for the yearly subscription.
Even if you renew on the date of the subscription, for ex. June 30th 2022, the expiration date isn't going to be June 30,2023, but rather May 14,2023.
Time rethink my strategy …Godaddy?!
Singed up for a 14 day free trial then 17 a month if you stay. Not even hour later I was notified that Wix charged 600.00 to my account. Tried finding a no. For customer service, there is none! Tried there chat for customer service, I stated that I did not authorize the 600.00 charge they billed on my card, the only option I was given was to view my invoice!
Whoever this idiot is that "helped" me with my problem did nothing but crash my computer! She told me to go to a website to check what windows I had and my computer locked up! The screen went blue then it told me I now have a virus. When I told her what happened she said well don't you have virus protection as if to blame it on me. Now I can't use my computer until my IT guy can fix. After calling my IT guy he said she never should have sent me to a website like that and that anyone who has anything to do with IT knows this. He said I do have the antivirus software and this website and others like it will do this to any computer even with virus protection. He told me I won't be able to open the page I had open that I was having issues with saving and called them for in the first place. This is ridiculous! Complete unprofessional horrible service!
Wix updated my payment method without my consent. I don't even know how they got this information. I just received my card in the mail and activated. I check my transaction and there was a charge from Wix. That is actually scary! I have no idea how they received this information. I will be checking in with my bank. I did not update my new card information that should be against the law.
About the only company that will not allow you to transfer site AWAY. After initial decent introductory price they keep on jack up the price year over year. The key is they do not give you ANY option to transfer the site you build on their servers to another host (like pretty much all other hosts do).
The same goes for the domain name purchased from them. The do not allow use of different server names.
Sucky site editor and lack of support are minor flaws compared to holding you a hostage with their sneaky tactics.
I am angered because I pay for a business unlimited plan, and my website is slow and they can' t seem to tell me why. Many times my site is offline and the service is crappy. Now I have to figure out how to move everything to another host. I am so tired...
I got suckered into paying before I could continue exploring the capabilities of this platform, due to the fact that I had a domain I needed to transfer over. Was unsuccessful in transferring the domain. And then ultimately I did not find their model as user friendly as other platforms. Could not find a customer service number anywhere to speak to a live representative for any of my problems. Finally found where I could request a refund only to receive an email shortly after stating it was denied, but did not offer a reason. Very disappointed with this company. Honestly, sqarespace is much better. I'm out hard earned money for nothing but I'll chalk it up to a blessing in disguise.
WIX took $168 from my credit card without my knowledge. When I called the ph no shown in the billing statement, I was direct to a customer website that doesn't exist. They need to be reported to BBB for their fraudulent dealings
Suddenly the editor didn't load after renewing my website. There's no direct chat support so I had to go many times through a chart to find the issue I was dealing with. The questionnaire couldn't help me and requested me to send an email + screenshot. When I wanted to send it, it gave an error and requested me to come back later. This cost me 4 hours.
Who orders an items looking prior at the shipping and return policy? While buying, Wix charges shipping cost for every item, however small the item cost be (e. G for a $1 item too it has $1 shipping). And while returning every items, it does not cover the shipping cost. And the shipping address I was provided with was in Canada. Imagine how costly would it be to return every item there? A big chunk of my refund will go in that. So I decided not to return even if I did not like some of the items and keep them as it is, eventually going into the garbage.
This company is extremely unprofessional. I had one customer to report a fraudulent claim. I showed documentation showing that the queen was fraudulent. And for the last two months they've been holding all of my deposit with people who are booking with me. They keep making excuses on why they won't release my money. I've been in business for five years and using wix for a year. They asked me to send over all of my documentations from the state that I live in to show that my business is legit I did. They also asked me for my social media business information I sent that in also and they are still making excuses on why they won't release my money. But still charging my account each month. Everyone that I have spoken to has been rude and unprofessional. And won't tell me what's the excuse on them. Keeping my deposits that my customers are booking with me.
After the user spends days creating and editing a presentation, podcast, video, website, etc, with audio, personal narration, or a music soundtrack - Wix will withhold the audio, until you upgrade and bombard you with screens to upgrade - just like a cable TV service. There is no "free" version if you cannot save or listen to the very content YOU have created. You will have no control over what you can do with your content, if you didnt pay. They want you to save to their cloud - more ongoing monthly/yearly fees. There is no customer service to talk with NOW - how about when it goes out of business? You will have no access. Wix can sell your brand, logo, and ideas... No thanks.
Would not recommend this to anyone thinking of selling digitally.
Wix is still in the dark ages and has not yet reached the 21st century.
I wanted a Refund because Wix can't deliver on the digital solutions for web shops. I have spent days with their support which is extremely slow and now the period for refund has ended. So now I won´t get a refund.
I have applied for refunds but it has been declined. But if I can get even one potential customer to go to some other Supplier. I have at least help one person not to get get ripped of.
I was using wix for free for over 7 years as their free plan, and when I upgraded to their premium plan, it promised everything and gave me nothing but the same things as the free plan. The only thing it did was add my url onto their site but if I wanted anything extra, I still had to pay. Any new customers that try to contact me just get disappeared and lost and I have had no success with contacting people. I'm planning on moving my site over to Weebly.com or somewhere else. Wix is no good! Sorry wix!
I decided to download the wix app to track sales on my website, it seem so easy to see full orders, including what the customer ordered and their address. Wix app showed several orders which i shipped out in a 2-3 day time span. All customers received their orders. Congrats to me! I go check my payout status a few days later on the website and noticed multiple payments have failed ( the app shows all customers have paid) wtf! I've sent people orders that have not paid, i've lost so much at this point ad contacting support is a dead end. They're actually agreeing the payments failed but not acknowledging that they show the items say paid on the site and accepting the fact that i sent the orders out. They need to be held responsible. Like this is the worst experience ever as a first time business owner to be losing money and products.
I paid my annual fee of $324 as a starting new company. Company closed six months later. Called to get a refund of half since I only used half of the services that I no longer needed. They denied my payment. In other words if you use half of the service they get to keep the rest.BS! They need to be reported immediately. BBB.
I am not great with computers but I managed to build my band's website and it was very easy.
Prices with wix are good, the site's never down, I like wix and thoroughly recommend it.
Happy customers

Has an issue with an automated billing on my account. The Wix service team attitude was terrible pushing me back to the terms and conditions of their site rather than attempting to resolve my issue. I had the same issue with Squarespace 3 years ago and their team went out of their way to help. I found the tools worse than Squarespace as well.
Answer: There not bad, but they offer really poor customer Service skills. Doesn't matter how long you do business with them the only thing they care about is your money. So if you dont stay 100% on top of things on your end your screwed.

Answer: No no no
Answer: I've been trying them for days now, with no luck! The recording first said, that "due to call volume, i would have to call back when they next opened on Monday (feb 13th!)" which means that they haven't changed their answering message for days! Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..
Answer: Hi, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We'd like to assist you in resolving this error as soon as possible. Please contact us at support@wix.com for further assistance, or call us at 1-800-6000-949.
Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
Answer: Please don't. It's just a scam to take your money and give no service.
Wix has a rating of 1.3 stars from 655 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Wix most frequently mention customer service, credit card and premium plan. Wix ranks 149th among Website Builder sites.
