Decline in product quality and customer service, if i could give zero stars, i would
October 24, 2024

I have been a customer of Vistaprint's pro membership for businesses for 1-2 years, and before that I ordered from Vistaprint exclusively for my business, specifically for their stand up envelopes.

What has appealed to me in the past is their quick turnaround time, as our company works on tight deadlines.

Everything has changed the last 6 months, and the customer service has gone completely downhill.

Over the summer I had a situation where my item wasn't able to be delivered due to an error in VistaPrint's checkout system. I bounced around from customer service agent to customer service agent until the manager promised to directly call to the mail carrier and call me back by the end of business day. We were on a tight deadline and needed the items right away, so haste was important. Instead, she emailed and didn't get back to me for 2 business days. When I told her I couldn't use the items for this project anymore because our deadline was past, she refused to refund me the cost of my order and was argumentative and defensive. When I called back to cancel my account, a manager above her was able to apologize, refund me for the items that I never was able to use, and convinced me to give VistaPrint another chance and keep my account.

Fast forward 2 months later, and I had two back to back orders of stand up envelopes arrive in terrible condition. I had been reordering these envelopes for these products for 2 years and received consistent, high quality results until these orders. The bags were clearly much lower quality, thinner, were split and broken at the seams, melted in the corners, and the edges of the bags were jagged and sharp--one of my employees actually cut herself on the bag. We were able to salvage some of the bags to use in one order, and then when we went to salvage and bag the second order, we realized that the volume of the bag had changed completely and was unable to hold the same amount of product, specifically it held about 30% less product than before, even though it was advertised as the same dimensions and volume as before. The reason for this was that the base of the bag was heat sealed all the way around about 1/2cm in, which made the bottom of the bag not open up fully and so the usable dimensions of the bag changed. Clearly the company changed manufacturers because the quality and size of the product was completely different for these two separate orders.

When I called about the issue, the customer service was robotic and unapologetic. I spoke to 4 different people and every single person said they would look into it and get back to me and follow up, and not one of them did.

Meanwhile, while this is going on, I had several other pending orders for standing envelopes, none of the order statuses were updating on my end of my account. When I asked for an update, i was assured they would arrive on time. The scheduled arrival days came and went and when i emailed to inquired, i was told, unapologetically and without accountability, that the manufacturer had cancelled the order long ago, and i was never notified. So then I was calling vistaprint again, trying to get my order reinstated. Everyone told me the same thing, that they would look into it and try and get the order reprinted and rushed and call me back right away, and no one did. I even got disconnected from a woman, who did seem like she wanted to help, and when i called back they said she was on a new call already but would call me back as soon as she was done. She never called. Finally, I spoke to someone who did get the orders replaced, but he promised it would be done by the end of the day and it wasn't until two more days that i had even heard back about it, even though he knew the importance of our deadline.

And, guess what? None of the ten orders that i have placed since Sep 30 have updated their order statuses in the backend of my account have updated since i have placed them.

Needless to say, it's clear that manufacturers have changed, communication is sloppy, and product quality is poor. I will absolutely be cancelling my account once all of these products have arrived, no one will be able to convince me otherwise this time, and I encourage any business owner not to be fooled by the low minimums and quick turnaround times, you can get these products much cheaper elsewhere with way better customer service if you do a little research.

DO NOT CHOSE VISTA PRINT if you want your order in time.
October 15, 2022

I placed an order for 5000 cards on Oct 1, I paid extra for express processing and shipping.
I needed my order by Oct 17 so felt 16 days was enough to allow to have in plenty of time.
I received my first order with only half the cards 4 days AFTER I was suppose to have received and only half of them arrived. I called and was told I would receive the other half the next day. I received 200 cards in that shipment, WHERE WAS THE OTHER 2500 cards? Good question... I waited and waited and after another 5 days called and was told the remaining 2300 was out for delivery and I would receive the next day * which was Friday- yesterday) Yip you guessed it NOTHING! But last evening i received a message saying they HAD delivered 200 more cards on Oct 15-( keep in mind when I got the message it was October 14- so no way had they delivered the cards they were indicating in the message. This was an absolute LIE. I called again this MORNING - Now it is Oct 15 and NO CARDS- Vista print says now that the order will be delivered on MONDAY. NIGHT at 7 pm!. Two weeks after the promised date
Vista print is making no effort to make this RIGHT, even though on the site they state they guarantee their orders. This is NOT TRUE, They do not! I will now miss my schedule appoint with the mailer to get these out and this will be detrimental to me. I would not recommend them in any way to any other customers. They do not make things right to the customer, They throw up their hands and say oh well, there's nothing they can do. They didn't even offer to refund my payment when obvious they are not full filling the order nor even communicating with the customer. I have had to call them, not once did they make an attempt to contact me or tell me the truth that they apparently hadn't even printed the cards nor shipped them in time to reach me within the 3days that I paid for. PLEASE RECONSIDER doing business with them, and choose a different company. And PLEASE pass on to others. A company like this does not deserve our business.

Tip for consumers:

Not reliable company..
Think twice before ordering, you may end up paying for an order and never getting it.

Hardly even worth giving the business.
August 25, 2022

This will be a long and detailed review. They certainly do not make it easy. While trying to order business cards which I've yet to receive so I'm unable to comment on their quality; I ran into MANY unsavory issues. The first is the design process, and options. It should not be 9 dollars more for a piece of card stock that is a fraction of a millimeter thicker than its counterparts. The design menu is buggy and difficult to use. You must click things several times, and if your images or lettering touch anywhere an error bubble will pop up. Which makes it infuriating trying to move the box if it is small because you can't click on it when the bubble is in the way, and if you can, you have to click it two or three times then drag it somewhere else. The snap is hit or miss, sometimes it helps, not very accurately placing your "letter boxes" in a roughly "even" orientation which is completely negated if you choose any different fonts or sizes. Letter sizing also cannot be adjusted to decimals either, when you click the size it pulls up a number keyboard with no point or period. Carrying on, the snap also makes precision extremely difficult because every time you try to drag the box into its desired placement it snaps to some random increment somewhere you don't want it EVERY TIME. And do not try to zoom in or out on a mobile phone, the second that two of your fingers touch the screen it zooms in 25% and you can keep zooming in, but you just… simply… ABSOLUTELY CANNOT ZOOM OUT. It just does not work period. Again; it is infuriating. Finally, upon completion of your design it can be saved in your cart for a few days which is actually pretty handy but that's about where the fun stops. Click checkout and get a hit with a nice creampie of new problems. Firstly you cannot make a purchase without an account. Which means whether you like it or not, they have and (because of their cookie policy) they sell your information to all those scammers in India who keep sending you emails from amzazon and gogle with 18+ links and surveys. Claim your 500 dollar prize, Xbox one, Dewalt power drill… etc, now. Ridiculous. Team red anyway. So go ahead then and give them all of your personal info so Kardeep in India can steal your credit card information and sell it back to you. Then you get to pay for shipping. Which you might think would have a free option for 500 pieces of 2 by 1 green paper with some words on it. But if you thought that like I did, you, like me, would be a fool. Actually you get to pay 10 dollars for the cheapest shipping they have on an item that weighs 2 ounces and costs them half a dollar to ship. Which by the way, will not arrive for 15 days. Business days mind you. Or you can pay 15 dollars so it can arrive in 10. Or you can just pay 30 and have your cards in a week. Next day does not exist to them and do not think that if you pay more that you'll get a better price for shipping. Because they actually have a nice link you can click where they explain that if you're paying for 200 dollars worth of product shipping will be like 60 dollars. Unless of course you buy their membership! Which is a low low price of X dollars per month, pure profit, which they will then give you the option to do something we now all know they are capable of doing anyway, free shipping. Every step of the way was an ad, a paywall, or some buggy "feature" that just made the process abundantly difficult. Had I not spend the time designing the card I wanted, I'd have gone and spent 20% less, got free shipping, had my cards in 5 business days, my internet security, and maybe an hour or two of time I could have spent laying in a hammock, or petting a dog or something. Or anything that was not the misery of trying to just order some cards for my business. Order 500 it's like 5 bucks more expensive than 250. Thanks for coming to my rant. If you made it this far you probably think this is pretty funny or you're a good business owner. Either way Love y'all. Unless you are Kardeep from India. Then I, and all my new friends who are reading this, do not love you. Image attached of the dog I could have been petting instead.

Tip for consumers:

There is no free shipping unless you buy a membership, and you have to create an account to buy literally anything.

Business Cards Ordered Mixed With Other Clients Cards
July 12, 2020

Hello Everyone, I wished this forum provided negative marking. As far as I'm concerned most of the people unhappy with the service do not post a review for others to know what they can risk. I was hoping to be offered a solution to the problem but was left with no reply to most of my emails. The problem involves 3 people who ordered 500 Business Cards from Vistaprint. 250 of my cards arrived to a gentleman in Gran Canaria that had the decency to inform me that his order was 250 of his cards and 250 on mine. By the way I am in Tenerife. Vistaprint told me to wait until mine arrived and inform them. I did so when I received 250 of my cards and 250 of another company, that deals with properties like me in Cataluña. I have no idea if Vistaprint is certified by any ISO or other entities. Mistakes shouldn't occur but yet they do.

Offering a solution for the problem would be the least and not leaving the clients waiting more than 2 weeks now. Not even a reply to my yesterday reminder mail. Most probably I will get a reply on this review that would say that they are sorry about what occurred but believe me clients DO NOT need any excuses or sorry. A reply that your delay is due to the many mails you have to deal with is not the client problem. If you are short in stuff or facing too many complains is your problem that you should fix. I have been using VistaPrint for 20 years now, when you still offered the free cards with your website at the back. I regret having to find another printer that offers a better service. I will have no ethical respect in your regards and will place in this and other forums the options of other sites that offer the same items at a better service. I just need to try them and see if they are reliable.

A short note to be careful of Nacex. The tried to charge me for customs documentation and other taxes when they shouldn't have. My order was less then 20 Euros and no documentation is required for that value. They held my order for over a week until I had to threaten them that I would be suing them and reporting them to the authorities, which I am doing. Also tried to explain this to VistaPrint being the ones providing this service and they don't want to know about it. I will get back with other options for those who wish not to use VistaPrint any longer. Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully my bad experience is useful to anyone.

Bad service
July 6, 2020

I ordered 4 masks and 2 sets of extra filters on May 1st with a 3 week delivery date of May 24th 2020. On My 26th I received an email with a delay. Delivery day 5-11 business days. This would be June 11th. On June 11th I received another delay stating (in bold print) that they would be shipped no latter that June 19th! I called customer service. He said there is no compensation and certain colors olare on back order. I asked why they didn't ask me if I wanted a different pattern to get them quicker. He advised me to cancel my order... he said that is the only compensation you will get. I received 2 emails that day after the phone call. One saying they are sending out free masks of their choice pattern until ours are ready to ship so we will have something. Ok, now I was happier. June 19th came and no compensation masks and no original order. Just another delayed order email, this time with no expected delivery date. I emailed the company and got a fake heart filled pre written email that was tweeked to fit my issue. She said one of my masks were shipped out and overnighted. I did receive one mask the next day, but NO FLITER! I emailed her again. Another representative responded again with a fake apologie and said the filters were on back order too and so were our compensation masks! What? That didn't make any sense, and she said our order would be delivered between June 30th-July 11th (today is July 6th and still no masks). Then on June 26th I receive yet another email saying one mask has shipped and gave a tracking number. For the last week I have checked the tracking number and it only says "Check back for scheduled delivery date". Honestly I think Vistaprint set up a shipping label, but haven't sent out the product. Thus, looking like they actually shipped something and only generated a lable. Today is July 6th! We ordered on May 1st! Yes, I am upset and would leave a 0 star review if I could. We have waited 3 months now for a 3 week delivery date. I hate to cancel now after waiting all this time and I am reading reviews saying they aren't receiving their refunds either! The one mask we did receive was of good quality, but useless without the " Special " filter. I researched masks and this company seemed to be a good reputable company that works with a lot of businesses so I felt confident in ordering. I've only been lied to again and again. It is very frustrating. I would never order from this company again and I would never recommend this company to any of my business friends in the future. It is sad they have made a bad name for themselves over this. I understand the unexpected orders they received, but please be honest with me at least. What really gets me is after waiting 3 months for our masks (all solid colors) they are STILL SELLING MASKS! If they are this behind on orders then WHY are they accepting new orders? Their website doesn't say when they will be delivered now either, so if you don't mind waiting 3+ months (or maybe not getting them at all) then feel free to take a chance on them. Personally, I wouldn't and won't ever again. I can't say they are scammers as I have ordered business cards from them in the past, but I can say they are horrible at their customer service and good at lying to keep people from canceling. I am about ready to cancel but afraid I won't get an actual refund.
Thank you for reading.

Wow. Their service is an embarrassment.
June 5, 2020

I used Vistaprint a couple of years back. I had no real issues with them, one package was late but they rectified it immediately. Overall, I found the service was good and as a result, I returned to make a purchase almost three weeks ago. What an absolute nightmare it has been this time around. I placed an order for return address labels on the 20th of May. Everything went as normal and I received a confirmation email that they would arrive by the 27th of May. This date passed with no sign of my labels. I contacted Vistaprint and they apologised and reissued the labels from their end, claiming they would arrive by express post on the 2nd of June. AGAIN, this date passed with no sign of my labels. Throughout the entire ordeal, the excuses from Vistaprint were extremely inconsistent. I was told that the issue was due to technical issues with the website and then I was told that the issue was down to the shipping company, that they had lost both parcels. Most recently, the representative I dealt with Mohamed claimed that he could not reprocess the order from his end, even though he had already claimed to have done so for the second batch of labels to arrive on the 2nd of June. I was issued a full refund but encouraged to go back onto the website myself and make another order. I pointed two issues with this to Mohamed: firstly, I would not be out of pocket for a new order while waiting for my refund to be processed and secondly; why would he expect me to have a shred of faith in their website and systems after two failed attempts of the labels being sent to me? I then received A THIRD confirmation email out of nowhere from Vistaprint stating that my labels had been dispatched and would arrive on the 6th of June. A couple of hours after receiving this confirmation email, Mohamed contacted me to once again claim that he could not reprocess the order from his end and to again insist I make a new order! You could not make this stuff up! Whatever the issue is with Vistaprint's system, they need to get it sorted as a mater of urgency. I am removing all of my personal details from their website as a result, god knows what other automated disasters are happening within their company. They have lost me as customer because of this, it is the worst level of customer service I have experienced in some time.

Like working with stupid children
May 23, 2019

This is a review of Vistaprint's design service.

I recently ordered a set of business cards using Vistaprint's design service, and honestly, it was like working with children - stupid children. It was a simple design - I supplied an image to be centered on one side of the card with 2 lines of text centered on the other.

For starters, they changed one of my lines of text. The first line was the business name and the second read, "thanks you for your business." Apparently this did not make sense to the people working on the design - they do not speak English as a native language - so they changed it, dropping the "s" in "thanks." Fortunately I noticed the change in time to correct it.

Second, they had a great deal of trouble with the concept of centering the image and text within certain quadrants of the design. For example, "center this image on the left half of the card" produced a design with the image in the upper left corner. It was the same with the text. I would have thought the basic aesthetics alone would have been enough to convince them that "centering" does not mean one line at the top of the card and the other at the bottom.

But there are actually two problems when working with Vistaprint's "design team" - and this is completely ignoring the change they made to my text. First (and most obvious) is their lack of English fluency means they do not understand basic terms like "centering," and second, they are not trained designers. They have no art training whatsoever.
Consequently, when they can't understand the instructions, they have no aesthetic sense or training to suggest to them that something might be wrong with their interpretation.

After the second failed attempt to get the basic layout correct, I decided to finish the revisions over the phone. The woman I spoke with was very polite, but had no notion of what I was talking about when I spoke of centering elements within quadrants. I was able to get the design completed only by frequently checking her uploaded revisions and making changes by saying things like, "A little lower and more to the right," or, "Try to get the second line directly below the first line." A real designer would have been s$#*!ing for days over instructions like that.

My issue with this process is that the design fee, an admittedly modest $10, only includes 3 revisions. We went through one revision simply because the "design team" didn't understand the instructions. We went through two more revisions over the phone because they couldn't understand that "centering" applies to both horizontal AND vertical. The fourth and final revision was to correct the change they made in my text. I wasn't charged anything extra for the final revision, but by then I was beginning to wonder if they weren't deliberately misconstruing the instructions in order to force me to pay an additional revision fee. I am still wondering about that because I just don't see how anyone could, in good faith, screw up such a simple design so many times and in so many ways...

The reason for the 3-star review is that I was, in the end, able to get the design I wanted. But it was far too much trouble to get there.

An honest review - Wedding invitation set
March 29, 2018

So I have given a three-star rating for Vistaprint, for the following reasons:
We'll start with the PROs!
-It was very easy for me to customize my design
-Delivery was much faster than estimated
-The final product looks quite nice
-I had a question regarding my order, and when I called around 8 pm at night, I was answered almost straight away (but I don't think their call center is based in AUS, as I wasn't talking to a native English speaker)

Now I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the CONs...
-The first package arrived with a part of my order, but I was disappointed that the RSVP cards came without any external envelope or protection, the stack was just loose inside a much larger cardboard package. This meant that the edges were slightly damaged (but not unusable).
-Later that same day, the second package arrived with the rest of my order. Upon opening, I was glad to see that this bigger cardboard box came with air pillows around the cards, but I soon realized that these card stacks too were merely put in the box with no covering, so again the edges were slightly damaged.
-I had expected both packages to be delivered to my door (my packages always come this way normally, even if I don't sign for them), but both were put in my letterbox, and as the second was too big, the lid of my letterbox was just left open (it was raining earlier that same day!). Any small amount of rain would have ruined the entire order, as the card stacks had no protection aside from the cardboard box they came in.
-The envelopes that came with my order were glued together crookedly (though I can't complain "too" much, as they were free).
-the return address labels weren't white as advertised, instead, they all came in a Karki/cream colour, therefore don't really match my white invites and white RSVP cards.
-I paid extra for Linen, but the invites were a lot thinner than I was expecting.

So in summary, my items are definitely usable and the invites still look nice (luckily you can't really notice the edge damage when you hold a single invite), but a little more care taken to how everything was packed and sent would have been good. I got everything cheaper as I used a 50% off coupon code, but if I had paid FULL price I think I would have been less satisfied with the end result, given the cost.

Beautiful set of Bridal Shower invites with small hiccup that Vistaprint fixed in a snap!
July 20, 2017

Beautiful set of Bridal Shower invites with small hiccup that Vistaprint fixed in a snap! I ordered matching invites, thank you cards, address label return stickers, and matching envelope sticker seals.

When I received everything, I noticed the Thank You cards looked beautiful on the outside and were perfect for the way that I requested them. However, on the inside (middle of the cards where you write) and back side of the cards the bride's name was written in small font. Well, I at least needed the name removed from the inside of the cards because it was in the way of where the writing should be, but I thought even though I didn't ask for her name on the back of the cards, it wasn't important enough to make a fuss over. It might not even be noticed anyway, and I wasn't worried as much if it were left on the back of the cards.

At the same time, the bride to be didn't like that on the Thank You cards, I chose to add the words "from (bride's name)" on the front of the cards.
So I emailed Vistaprint, and I explained the problem, as well as, the bride's request, and I asked if their was anything they could do to assist me (being that this was for my sister). I mentioned everything was beautiful, but that I needed assistance with my dilemma. I fully expected to need to pay something for at least the part that I chose to add on the cover of the cards that my sister didn't care for, so they could be reprinted to her liking. I did order a total of 50 cards after all.

I received an email back stating that they received my concerns, and they would contact me back as soon as possible but it may take up to 24 hours. Shortly later, I received an email from Ms. Kerenza Claudine, Customer Support Specialist, stating that she apologized for the situation and to speed things along, she was express shipping free of charge a new set of cards right away. She was removing the bride's name from the center of the cards, as well as, removing my typing, "from (bride's name)" on the front page. She thanked me for my business, congratulated my sister by name, and even included that I was an awesome sister for doing this for my sister!

I never even spoke to Ms. Claudine just sent the request for assistance. She automatically fixed everything free of charge with no hassles. I can't say great enough words to thank Vistaprint and Ms. Claudine for such a beautiful product, professional and caring representatives!
