VINTED UK, Avoid at all costs, zero buyer protection, it's like the Wild West
March 28, 2025

My wife and I had both used Vinted to purchase several low cost items over the last two years and had always found the platform easy to use and felt we were getting some good value out of the platform.
The last month my wife purchased a Blakely hoodie and leggings which were sold as 'new with tags' and 'unworn', the items arrived and this was clearly not the case. The items didnt have tags and had clearly been worn as there was a deodorant mark on the hoodie. My wife contacted the seller who didnt deny that they didnt have tags but said "it's in it's original plastic bag" (not the same) and that the deodorant mark was "just dust from them being in my wardrobe" and said if you dont want them send them back.
This is where Vinted's wheels come off, firstly the buyer has to pay to return the item even in these scenarios but worse than that was that I then read her previous reviews and the seller has clearly done this before as many reviews said the same.
My wife posted the items back the next day in the exact packaging that they had been sent out in.
Within another day Vinted contacted my wife to say she had inappropriately packed the item, one of the 2 items was now missing and therefore the seller would retain all of the funds (which was £90).
We then contacted vented support again, (which we had done at the start of the process but they said as she had offered a refund thats what we should do, immediately refusing to acknowledge the mis-selling of the goods in the first place by the 'new with tags' line being a complete lie) and explained the fact that this clearly isn't the first time that the seller has done this and that we are surely entitled to our money back as she mis-sold the item. They completely refused to acknowledge the mis selling of the items or her previous form and initially we were clearly dealing with only bots. Eventually after trading standards and the sale of goods act was mentioned a human responded though they were equally useless and ultimately after a few messages of the same type (always refusing to acknowledge that the items were not as sold, they simply said that the funds had now been returned to the seller and whilst they now saw our point, they could no longer do anything as the issue was closed. Ultimately I feel this seller is very possibly deliberately playing the Vinted system as it is all skewed towards the seller (unlike Ebay which has far better protection for both parties) and they are allowing it. They are clearly operating outside of the sale of goods act, can you imagine a shop saying "well the money has changed hands now so that's the end of it" it literally makes no sense at all. Ultimately Vinted are not at all interested in running a fair trading platform, they are quite happy for it to operate as the Wild West as long as they are getting their fees. I would avoid at all costs and go back to Ebay, yes the fees may be higher but now I can see why.

NO OPTION TO RATE 0 STARS
November 9, 2021

… hence the one star which is one too many for this company of dumb, clueless b*st*rds.

The latest sh*t they have done:

• Blocked my account for absolutely no reason.
• Accused me of selling counterfeits (concerning items that have every last bit of evidence as to their authenticity). Funnily enough, their site is littered with actual counterfeits which they are completely oblivious to! These disgraceful amateurs are far, far from expert authenticators, it's like they're a bunch of tramps who've been picked up off the street to work below minimum wage. No communication skills, no common sense and absolutely no integrity or business ethics.
• Withhold MY money from MY sale after being provided with crystal clear evidence of delivery AND the buyer clearly confirming receipt of the item. The assh*les firstly suspend the entire transaction and then go on to deny that they have the ability to release my funds. Upon being caught out they change their tune once again and start banging on about how they cannot release the funds until they've been provided with proof of delivery (which by this point, the b*st*rds have been sent multiple times).

This disgrace of a "company" needs to be shut down after being penalised heavily once and for all.

They are so damn shady and conceal their registered UK address just so nobody can take action, implying on their sh*tty app that they only have a base in Lithuania. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR CRAP. Having filed a lawsuit against them previously, I can tell you that their UK address is indeed registered with Companies House and happens to be a shabby little flat in East London. You can find details of the UK based directors on Companies House (see images attached).

When I took these b*st*rds to court, a *******@vinted.com responded with an offer for compensation whilst trying to deny that they were actually at fault and setting conditions as to how I agree to not expose them (see image attached). This is the extent of their dodginess and lack of business ethics. He failed to respond to further correspondence from myself outlining their disgusting and repetitive blunders that caused me untold stress, hassle and inconvenience as they are guilty as hell in every instance.

Prior to this, one of their amateur clown operatives emailed me telling me to remove my reviews and withdraw my legal claim as "it is against their rules". Well he can dream on. They think people were born last night and that they are clueless just like them as to their legal rights.

Diabolical website
November 9, 2019

Absoultely diabolical website. Not only does this site condone bullying, harassment and abuse but they actually encourage it! Multiple known scammers are allowed to operate on this site. Other members will take extreme lengths to bully other member to the point which I recieved PUBLIC death threats, which Vinted simply chose to ignore, demonstrating intentional amd sickening neglect of protecting their members.

After being scammed multiple times and recieving SERVERE verbal abuse, harassment, bullying and even threats against my own life, I reported to Vinted in a state of terror, but Vinted immediately dismissed my case despite compelling evidence.

Finally I was feeling anxious for my own safety, and with no support, I decided I needed to illuminate myself from the situation, and asked Vinted to close my account. Vinted yet again dismissed this refusing to close my account for me subjecting me to further harrassment, threats, bullying and verbal abuse!

A website so poorly run, and putting people's genuine safety in jeopardy is extremely calculated and sadistic, and trading standards have been informed.
This site is enough to push anyone's mental health over the edge.

Since Vinted refuse to discipline members I shall do it myself and point out the members you need to avoid due to either scamming or abusive members. All listed below:

This site is a no-go in the USA...
February 4, 2015

This site is a no-go in the USA... Bought a few things trying to save money before Christmas. Mostly bought things that showed pictures of new tags on them. A few things I bought came in horrible condition and were not new. When You go to return something Your refund is tied up and they really don't give a crap. They try to blow You off to credit You on the site so You can purchase something thats crap again instead of refunding You. Sellers are scamming on there, so beware. Buy nothing expensive: Coach purses, LV purses, any expensive item. Got Juicy Couture items that weren't real. Girl sold Me over $100.00 worth of China jewelry saying that it was sterling silver and real stones. She prices Her stuff real high in regular price which makes the buyer think the price She is asking is a steal deal. Well, they are scammers. My jeweler laughed and said the stones are imitation, and its the new 925 coated cheap silver that China is now selling to people on-line on Ebay. I found alot of people on this site selling used bras, used bathing suits, discusting. They owe Me money and refuse to refund Me by check after I closed out the Credit Card I used on their site. My bank says they refunded Me after My account was closed. They dont care. They dont have enough employees to watch what is being posted. Tracys closet was a point system, but that is down the tubes as well since they changed ownership and they owe Me money too for items not received. Poshmark is out of control as well. That is another story in itself, so beware of that site too. Vinted sellers are switching to Poshmark because Poshmark doesnt give a crap what You sell either and Vinted sellers tell You up front coded with spaces inbetween the word P O S H they are switching over to Poshmark... Poshmark allows: Books, cell phones, electronics, fake Coach bags and fake LV bags, magazines, perfumes over 200 sellers, VS Dogs over 400 sellers, childrens used clothing, childrens beat up shoes, and now mens clothing, shoes, underwear, sneakers, nic-nacs, You name it, its on there... and once in awhile they email one person out of the million sellers I was told to remove perfume but no one else... It is supposed to be a womens clothing and accessories site like Vinted and it is out of control... shame... no honest people today... more scammers on that site than You can imagine as well... Buyer beware... You live and You learn?...
