I'm pissed! The website cancelled my order without my consent, and now an item that I was counting on for an event is no longer available. I called their customer service number, and the woman could not help me at all. PISSED!
Just called Urban to discuss a product and they were super helpful, and went beyond to help me. I've always received amazing customer service from Urban in their stores and online and this last time really raised the bar. Love Love Love Urban Outfitters and know why my girls are obsessed with this store!
Their online ordering is simply awful. Either you will get your product super late, or, like me, not at all. My order was cancelled without notice and the price of the item taken out of my bank account. Not worth the risk for the money you will lose!
I've ordered from Urban Outfitters in the past and deliveries have been fine, however... things seem to have gone very downhill lately. I've ordered maybe 4/5 times from them within the past 2 months and something has been wrong with every order: overcharged, the wrong colour item sent, items missing, missing deliveries, charging my card 2 weeks later after the order (causing me to go into my overdraft), posting to the wrong address - you name it, it's happened!
Their refund process is horribly slow as well, only refunding once you chase it up. Getting a response from their customer service team is a whole other issue, getting passed between different people and taking up to 2 days to respond sometimes and even then they don't take your complaint seriously.
I would say DO NOT buy from them online, maybe instore. But even then the clothes are so overpriced. It's not worth it!
In the past 4 weeks, I have had 2 shipments with someone else's stuff, with my receipt delivered. The box of crap has merchandise worth maybe 10 bucks, I made orders for over $200. Noone will respond from customer service, and it is Christmas Eve. These gifts were supposed to go to my kids. UO should be sued
Terrible experience with Urban Outfitters. I purchased a pair of blue tooth headphones in April, by the end of July they malfunctioned and stopped charging. Urban outfitters basically refused to help in anyway as it was past their return period. Be careful when purchasing expensive items as they state that they do not offer any warranty so if something stops working within months of purchasing, they will not refund or offer a replacement or even offer store credit, so you will be left with an expensive item you can no longer use and out of pocket. They only were prepared to offer me a measly 20% off the price and a free express shipping code on my next order, 'as a gesture of goodwill' This does not even cover half of the cost of the blue tooth headphones. Needless to say I will never shop with them again.
I don't have complaints pre COVID but wow are they awful right now! Calling customer service is usually a 15-20 minute wait event. They have lost orders. Their systems says things were delivered that were not and upon investigation the delivery is to the wrong address. Everything ends up on back order and the dates keep being extended. For the overpriced merchandise, it's starting to be not worth it.
Don't even bother. I ordered an item with the expectation it would be delivered by 11/19 per checkout and email confirmation. After talking to three different customer service representatives, I was finally able to find out it didn't ship until 11/18 (ordered 11/13) and wasn't estimated to get delivered until 12/1. Absolutely ridiculous and all they could say was sorry for the inconvenience. Well now Im left without a gift for a friend going out of the country in five days. Never shopping here again.

The only issue I've encountered is the packaging itself. One of my recent orders was a small concealable wall shelf (no more than 6 inches long/tall). It came in a 2 foot long box, which I thought was a bit unnecessary and weird.
Submitted an order for a pair of shoes, and 2 days later, the order was cancelled for no reason, other than it "could not be fulfilled at this time". Tried ordering again and it went through. It's the 6th business day since I've ordered and it STILL hasn't shipped. How can you charge for shipping but take your time getting it out? Won't be shopping with UO anymore.
Went through a 2 week struggle and fifteen emails to return two tank tops which weren't actually as pictured. The colours were so off, e.g. the "black" colour was a grey and quality was less than poor. All I wanted was my money back without being charged for the return ($5) but my issue was juggled between three different service reps which did not help the case, as a few times I emailed just to have the returns policy spat back at me. Having to explain myself several times was even more frustrating than the original experience. So after actually getting a free returns label and sending off the items, they charged me $10 - that is the returns fee per item rather than per order. It took a rather colourfully worded email to get that returns fee refunded and after that no condolence was given whatsoever. I don't know how they expect to keep a loyal customer base with such a crappy attitude to service. I used to shop at Urban Outfitters but will not waste my time there again.
I ordered a piece of furniture from UO. It was on sale, then I had an email coupon for 30% off. I was so excited to receive this piece of furniture as it was a really good deal and perfect for my living room. The checkout process goes smoothly. I ordered it late Thursday night. It is Monday and I am only now receiving a cancellation email, stating that the item is unavailable. Why did you let me order it if you didn't have it in stock?!? They need to update their website on the availability of products so no one is ordering things they'll never receive. I'll also be sure to check my bank statement because reviews here claim that they don't like refunding money either.
Order 3 albums on November 27th for Christmas gifts. Two came and the third is still not here on January 17th. Got an email saying it would ship on January 7th. Every time I call or chat with them online, they say they will look into why it hasn't shipped yet. Charged my account even though their website says they will not charge until they ship!
I ordered a cardigan online. Payed for it and the order said it will ship in 7-10 business days. When I received my email, it told me my order will not be shipped for another 3 months because the cardigan is on "back order". The store did not tell me this until AFTER I had payed for the item. I called customer service and there were zero help. Don't know why they would still have the item on the website if it is not available? Overall not impressed.
I've been trying since Christmas to get a refund for an e-card which was cancelled by UO as I notified them that my goddaughter may have unintentionally deleted it, i was advised I had to purchase another which I duly did. I must have exchanged about 20 emails with nearly as many UO customer service operators since, regarding the refund which still has not been issued. I have asked repeatedly to be put in contact with the head of customer services in order to lodge an official complaint but still just batted from one operator to another via email. The last one guaranteed a resolution by yesterday, but nothing, and no reply to my follow up. Absolutely shocking customer service.
Their emails start 'Thanks for reaching out' I would like very much to reach out to these people in a different way! Place order and not allowed to cancel? Returned order $5 fee now they cannot find the amount of refund taken from my bank. Over 10 emails with different person each time telling me they need more info. Have complied with their requests but still they continue with repeated questions. Had to ask my bank to dispute charge for item charged for that was cancelled. UO are not are not worth dealing with.
This company is a joke. I ordered in Australia and the price came up as 87.00 Australian dollars on the bill though 119.00 was taken out of my account. 8 emailed 9 emails asking for the items not to be shipped and a refund, and asking for a reason to the different amount coming out of my account. I didn't received any responses until I used messages and got the rudest and most unhelpful response. "was oh it's the currency exchange hope you enjoy your items."
After waiting a day at a time for a response they said it was to late and I was getting my items. I still haven't received them 18 days from ordering! Even though it's clearly states 14 days after ordered. No one will respond to my emails or my messages. They wouldn't even give me a refund when the bank contacted them. They have the worst customer service and are a $#*! business! Never had a worse my experience ever. DO NOT SHOP
While in-store UO experiences have generally been good, my online experience & subsequent interaction with customer care was so horrible it will keep me from ever doing business with the company again. I will advise my clientele to do the same.
If I could give a zero, I would. My daughter ordered pants from this crap store and returned them because they didn't fit. For 6 weeks I have been calling (and waiting on hold for at least 45 min each time) to try and find out where my refund is. Each time I got a different story about where the return was and that they would have to investigate. On my fifth call I was told that they were returned and that we got a new pair of pants in exchange. We never exchanged the pants and certainly didn't receive another pair. They are crooks! Don't order or shop at Urban Outfitters! My kids used to shop at Urban quite a bit (note used to) we will no longer spend another dime at this $#*! store.
I bought a £149 chair mid April and by 10th June it was in pieces! Very poorly made - the legs caved in under me - they were glued in by manufacturer. UO refuse to take responsibility. Poorly made and dangerous! UO customer service awful! They are saying it is my fault. I only used chair as a chair - not sure what it is for if not for sitting. Chair also has all the screws on show so looks ugly and not consistent with style / wood / ratan (they do not show these on the photographs). You have to assemble most of it - not easiest thing. UO refuse to advise on regulatory process to resolve claim, emails just get passed around. You will never see your purchase or money again! Real shame.
