Pricing is NOT accurately reflected on sign-up page. Actual price of their so called comprehensive reports needed to verify email, property details and phone info are ALL ex post facto upsells. Should be disclosed and given option to upgrade prior to subscribing.
Looked at one family member and found phone number from residence sold in 2002 still attached, though they moved to different state! So much of this information is readily available FREE via genealogy sites and are current w/ cited sources.
Properties purchased through a trust will result in Zero Information Available, but the Name of the Trust pops right up in Google.
Another relative's former S/O (lived together but no shared utilities, never married) is listed as #1 Associate of said relative's father.
Looked up my own parents and dad's 44 year career w/ global firm wasn't listed. He does not list it on LinkedIn, either, so clearly: If you don't list information by choice or design, you can manipulate search results.
Permutations of your name to trace who is selling your information will, ironically register as "Known Aliases" next to your *possible* legal name.
I came to test accuracy of established facts and information for myself and family members. The listed information is poorly formatted; former residences appear multiple times via the timeline feature and cite them as current.
I am not going to post pics, because then I'd be outing my fam and friends. Homie don't play that. Don't feel like posting screenshot of proof of purchase, even with info scrubbed, and laundered through Swiss VPN and private email on Swiss Server.
Like milk, this one month subscription was a bad decision - and the contents are just as outdated. Good luck running down all of someone's known aliases for the confirmed same person. I attempted w/ a family member's information that I know is current and active. There was conflicting and incorrect information on each report, none of which were identical.
It's the interwebz - don't litter, and always pick up after yourself, unless you want your *******@hotmail.com address for posting on CL for, you know, Freecycle Items and definitely not to Crete the Grindr account your wife doesn't know about. Proof of purchase posted so it's obvious the pricing is not transparent.
All of the information I found on family (current, checking for accuracy) was out of order. Duplicate records and so many aliases pop up. There are better sites: free, public information, real estate sites - all free and much more accurate.

I got tired of the dramatic build-up as I waited through pages and pages while the site "was searching records." Reflecting on this, that is a lie in and of itself. The information they provide, which is inaccurate anyway, can be found in a few seconds. What is the worst part is they are not upfront with their charges. You'll have invested at least 20 minutes of your time before they ask you for your credit card information, and tell you the price is $28 for a monthly subscription.
In the meantime, I bet they are collecting information about YOU and selling it somewhere. Read the reviews by customers who actually subscribed and then are given the runaround by customer service reps. This company needs to be run into the ground by a grassroots spreading of the truth about THEM, that their company is a hoax, a waste of people's time, a grab for people's money, and possibly collecting and selling information about its customers.
By the way, most of the sites that pop up offering reviews on them are clearly marked as SPONSORED sites. In other words, they invest part of their earnings into buying fake reviews. I'm a busy person but I took these fifteen minutes to contribute to the cause - may the TRUTH win. They stole my time, now this is the way I'm making them pay for it. I hope they will go bankrupt and their admin will find more worthy ways to earn a living.
UPDATE:@Chris E.: I understand that you run a business with a goal to be profitable. The problem is the WAY you are seeking your profits. We can run your Truthfinder check on anybody we know well (such as ourself) and can affirm that the information given has some accurate data and some inaccurate data. It's more or less what you can find that on a dozen other websites.
My objection is that you should not make people actively interact with the site for 15-20 minutes before getting to that information, and only then talking price. After 20 minutes, I feel I have already "invested" enough and I might as well depart with whatever money you want, not to lose the investment I made of my time. Time is our most valuable asset in life. Pricing is an upfront discourse with honest companies. Your company uses a "sneaky" technique.
I beg your pardon if I am getting anything wrong now - if so, the reason is that SiteJabber complimented me for this review so I came back to re-read it months later. I may have forgotten details.
Btw, it is really rare that I leave a negative review. I usually just clam up when I see mistakes, we all make them. I prefer giving good reviews. There is so much good in this world, and it is nice to point it out. Best wishes that TruthFinder finds its way to providing information as accurately as possible, as timely as possible, and with a pricing scheme that is honest and upfront.
P.S. I am a public high school teacher in California. Besides teaching my credential subject, I'm helping your kids find their talents and strengths, and helping them learn to communicate in a way that leads to win-win situations.
Do not waste your time reading their drama. Close the window and find another background check service immediately.
Background check
Truthfinder is full of old news and untrue information. I have contacted them three times to tell them I am not this person they have me listed under and to remove this person whose birthdate is in 1900 from my profile. The person lives in Austin And I emailed at least four times to tell them that my middle name is not Nichole. I was born in 1978 and I have never been to Austin.
Even after I cancelled my debit card because I got tired of them billing me four times a month, they somehow are billing my account even after the card cancellation.
I went through every email to use to make sure that I didnt have any accounts I may have forgotten and each one shows I havent been billed since 2018 but my bank account states otherwise.
They will not do refunds even if you have not used their site. This site, Been Verified, Spokeo, as well as Intelius and a slew of other sites like these are ripping people off and taking advantage of convicted felons who allready face adversity by claiming they can keep your felonies from showing on your record which is fraud and of course is a lie.
Folks your wasting your money with these people. You can log into your local county or district clerk or dps.org if your in my state, Texas and get the same info for free. It is after all public record.
I have tried canceling my account which they make difficult for you. You shouldn't have to call customer service to cancel a subscription. People today do not have the time or energy for that. I am sending them my fourth email today to let them know.
From now on folks, remember to use your county clerk, bop.gov or the district clerk or other. Gov resources which are free. Trust me. Where do you think these people get their info. It's obvious the owner of these sites and or the people who own them knew someone who worked for a government entity or is some sort of hacker (whether ethical or not) which enabled access to this info. The other theory I have is this is just someone who knew like myself about free govt background check resources whose info is way more Thorough and up to date. Their system lumps you in with peoe who are not you which is unfair and potentially damaging to ones credit that is if any creditors are dumb enough to partner with these sites.
Been verified, intelius all of them are no good. I didnt realize this until I started studying computer science because I was wanting to change my life and not get left behind by technology. These people are part of what creates a blanket of fear and paranoia in America. Yes i am a convicted felon. My felonies in most states are misdemeanors. Possession of a controlled substance less than a gram which is a victimless crime but organization s like these take advantage of people and they are the real criminals.
Do not use this site. Your wasting your mo ey with these parasitic piggyback industries. I cant believe these white color criminals get away with this.
Other than the fact that more people should question their validity and check the info on them and compare it to that on their local government sites just to see how inaccurate the majority is. I used the full background package which is supposed to not be billed in three separate parts but one.
Gonna add my 1 star to all the others to make this unanimous! Do NOT use this service! Wish I had checked out their reviews before using them. Much of their info is "happenstance" (e.g. This person has same last name) and completely irrelevant. Then they provide you with "answers" like, "no record that this person ever lived at this address," and it's the place where the person lived for most of their life. Or "criminal record found," and they produce something on someone who has the same last name (like Smith or Jones) and the person bears NO relation to the person you are looking up. How do I know this? I checked it out with my own family and myself. Suffice to say, the software they use is either shockingly outdated, and seems to include just enough inaccuracies or implied relations to people who aren't even remotely connected, to make you think you should investigate further (i. E. pay for the "confidential" report). Here's my guess about how they suck people in: their software identifies someone with the same last name as you (or person you're looking up), who has ever lived in the same state (very high likelihood you''ll find someone with a criminal record who has same last name if you have the most remotely common last name) and has a criminal record. Then their computer algorithms repeatedly present this person's name, even though each step during the "inquiry" process, you mark this person as NOT related. So when the results are presented, the "truth" finders database tells you, "there are no criminal records," even though the prompts keep telling you they've found criminal records. Meanwhile, despite multiple efforts to expunge the name of the non-related person they keep including in the list of family members (impossible age and location, not to mention we have all the names and records of family members born in this country from that side of our family). But "Truth"finder's results still lists this one person who has the same (common) last name. All this despite multiple times saying "this is NOT a family member." So guessing they keep including this person because they DO have a criminal record, and this prompts searchers to keep looking and paying for information about loved ones and family members who have died suddenly, without warning.
But here's the real kicker. I've held a state professional license for 35 years (all in the same state where all my other identifying data is listed) and anyone who has a 5th or 6th grade education (or less) who knows how to look something up on the internet, could pull up this info. Yet "Truth" finders.com says, "this person has never applied for a professional license! Go figure. All's I can say is, "don't waste your time and money with this organization and their fraudulent service.
I'll give them credit for one thing and one thing only: When I confronted one of their supervisors with my experience with their database, its inaccuracies and omissions, and the fact that they never posted a fee in their interface with PayPal, he quickly refunded my money. I surely hope PayPal is not in on this scam, though I intend to contact them separately to about this. Now I'm also wondering how to convince Google to cease advertising this business since that only makes them look as though they're rubber stamping fraudulent business activities -- especially given the unanimous 1 star ratings!
