Trulia could be great with just a few improvements. But those improvements are huge detractors to its usefulness.
The biggest is school info.
It's so helpful that they send a list of new homes that match my search (Zillow doesn't) BUT then I still have to go to a computer (it's too hard to do it all on your phone) to cross-reference every home Trulia sent on the Zillow site to find out what the assigned schools are!
Does anyone actually work here? I'm a marketing Director for a Real Estate Company. Our account is populating incorrectly from Postlets onto Trulia. I have emailed Trulia's "customer service" countless times with not a single response. There are no phone numbers that will take you to a human being. So, your listings sit on here screwed up forever and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. TERRIBLE SITE with worse/non-existent customer service. Truly awful.
This company and its sister companies are not worth wasting your advertising dollars on. I called last month to cancel my account which had expired the previous month. Now today I got my credit card bill and once again they charged me. When I called them they have no record I called in July and won't refund my money. DO NOT allow yourself to be sweet-talked into advertising with them!
I was able to find a house through Trulia and find a real estate agent as well. However, a lot of the houses in the area that were already bought are still listed and the status is not changed online, which makes this difficult. It was accurate for some areas and not others.
I only used this a few times and when I say a few times it was only for looking. I attempted to rent a place from them, to find out later it was a huge scam - thankfully I did not give any money or information to this person and I alerted the realtor's right away. I haven't used it since because it lost my trust. I can't give it a one star though since it does seem to have useful information and it's easy to navigate. I would personally recommend Zillow.com or Relator.com, but if you do decide to use this site, be careful with your information.
Delivered nothing of what they promised! Bad leads with wrong numbers. Good luck trying to cancel your account, was patched through people to people to finnally being placed on hold for 45 minutes! Do yourself a favor spend your precious ad money someplace else or just burn your money its the same thing.
This is in response to reviews from successful buyers who liked the site. Post-Zillow-Merger home shopping consumers may find homes if they are able to see one unsold by the agent on the sign--who also works for the Seller. The buyer-agents who advertise in an effort to offer exclusive representation as a Buyer Advocate are the ones who are less likely to be reached. All of the changes happened mid-February, and Zillow doesn't seem to be able to bring the same site around for all of us. There are now apartment rentals, tons of advertisers popping up everywhere--not the same product pre-merger (in my experience). So just to clarify for this perspective. Am glad Jacqlyn was an exception in and has a great home--always the ultimate goal!
For the past week when I click on any property in the two to three daily emails I receive from Trulia, nothing happens. A small green "dot" spins and spins and the pics of whatever property never materialize. Time to try another website.
Trulia is useless. It's wasting of your time. I should have check the reviews before I started my search. I have been looking for an apartment for a year. The managing company don't answer your call or reply to you email. Don't use it and waste you time.
Why the hell should I have to "sign in" to ask them a question? Trulia is a lousy search engine, there are NO contact emails to website administrator. Does not hold filters when doing a search. What a joke.
I have been fervently looking for a home on a budget and all the homes that i look at and would be a good opportunity have been sold like two weeks ago and are still listed on here as actively for sale and several had actually changed brokerage realities and been sold off yet still listed by the previous realtor... way to update
I used to enjoy reading Trulia to learn about the real estate market and what properties were on sale. I even used to read Trulia about other far away cities. However, now for some unknown reason Trulia has grossly enlarged all the pictures and print so that you cannot get everything on one page Now, I don't waste time with Trulia. I do not have time to spend hours trying to manipulate the picture on the computer so that I can make sense of it. Thus, a rather interesting and useful feature on the computer has been rendered completely useless and a waste of time.
This website intentionally deletes reviews submitted by legitimate customers. They don't even bother to explain their reasoning. This complain shows up over and over again, making this website counterproductive. Don't waste your time on it.
I was looking at a house posting. Next thing i know im getting a phone call saying i inquired about this house using my email account. Ok but how did you get my phone number. He insisted i inquired so i had to enter it! I think i would know if i entered my phone number! Sounds like a privacy issue. Immediately deleted the app!
We have a real estate company and have been dealing with Trulia for over a year. We keep trying to get info regarding our agreement and do not get a response just someone saying that they couldn't help us but yet they keep charging $299 monthly... We have sent multiple e-mails and logged no telling how many hours on the phone and all they want to do is send us to someone else who ends up just trying to scam us out of more money... We are now having to put a block on our credit card just to stop this... Hopefully they call after that. We will see. This company is a Joke...
I've been looking for an apartment for months. I find all these great rentals on Trulia but when it comes to actually getting a call back or viewing it it never falls through. They either don't pick up, don't call you back or say that apartment isn't available. Wtf why are you putting it up there then. These people are effing idiots.
I had tried contacting multiple places, both by requesting to view each apartment, and requesting again a week later and not a SINGLE reply. I even tried calling all of them and they apparently don't seem to realize they have a phone in their office, and it doesn't seem to matter if I call it different times of the day they never pick up. Unprofessional and irritating!
This company will promise you leads but then send you renters! This is a horrible company! They won't let you out of your contract! We had to cancel our credit card to get out. If a company doesn't want to release you from a contract that means they cannot stand behind their product! Do Not use this company! Danger danger!
I can't even log into my account anymore. Password reset link is supposed to send password but sends link that I tried multiple times to create password. Never works. No way to contact them. Site is not well maintained, as "Contact Us" just redirects to account creation page. Pretty useless, I give up.
I was promised leads from sellers and buyers with a high share of market representation based on my zip code, 3 months passed and all I received was suspects instead of prospects or leads. When I called them to ask for the agreement and what they promised all their response was " Our leads are based on online search, we cant promise you will get leads but you still are responsible to pay us" That is what scammers do! They dont have any updated information since Trulia use the realtors for properties we list in the MLS that we pay, then we favor Trulia paying more, for them to use our listings for their benefit.
Answer: Losing a loved one can be very devastating. I lost my dad who was my best friend about 6months ago. I drowned myself in alcohol in order to forget my sorrow but to no avail. Before I realized myself, my life was already a mess. My credit which was at 761(three years of hard work) had already dropped to 498, all my cash spent and all my card maxed out. I had so many negative items (late payments, inquiries, collections, judgments and garnishment). A good friend of mine recommended METRONET CREDIT SOLUTION; they helped me raise my credit 784 from the initial 498. I am very grateful for this great help. If you've messed up your credit and you really need quick assistance, then I recommend them. I reached them via metronetcreditsolution@gmail.com. Thank me later
Answer: They won't delete your email but you can block them from sending it to you. Just click that it's spam email and it will go to your spam site.
Answer: Remember these are SALES staff, they will lie to get your business and they couldn't care less what happens after they get their commission. Do NOT fall for Trulia's lies to Realtors- learn from my very expensive mistake! You will get nothing except poorer.
Answer: Anyone who owns a house or apartment will entrust a friend or management company with the responsibility of managing the property before going out of town for an extended period. If someone claims to own or manage the place but cannot grant you a walk-through viewing of a place (not just pictures sent through email--anyone can do that--they must legally own a copy of the key) and FOR FREE, then it is a scam. I agree with Julie. Do not use sites like Trulia to try to find a rental. They do not verify 'property managers' and most of the rentals you will find on Trulia are scams. I found my apartment by contacting well established local realty management companies. The apartment I chose is owned by a company that was recommended to me by a friend. Never ever send money. If it's a legitimate owner/manager/leaser, all transactions will happen in person.
Trulia has a rating of 3.1 stars from 160 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with Trulia most frequently mention credit score, negative items and late payments. Trulia ranks 17th among Real Estate sites.
