As the title say, my experience was pretty great, especially when compared to a similar company. Shipping was only a few days, products are fresh, in good condition and the website is very informative and clean
This was my third time ordering from Tokyo Treat and they never fail to amaze me! I got a subscription every time and loved all of them, will definitely be ordering more. My sister especially the younger one is always super excited to see all of the things and enjoys all of the candy we get. It's great for sharing with younger siblings as it's such an experience for them. Definitely recommend 10/10!
They were great until the pandemic came, then the true service showed. They refused to continue shipping box's even though i have a yearly subscription, and refuse to return my money.
They are simply keeping my prepaid money (which is over €350) and refuse to return or offer any compensation or other service which doesn't require me investing more money to receive a box.
Save yourself the hassle and use another service which actually cares about their customers.
So I placed an order for a 3 month gift subscription but I misunderstood where I was to enter the recipients info, and the email to claim my gift came to me instead. Within an hour of placing that order, I tried to cancel, but their steps to do so do not even take you to any page resembling their illustrations with a cancellation "button" - only a summary of the order. Finally after multiple tries their "customer portal" - which by this time felt like a more apt name would be "customer portal to a black hole", it said the order was cancelled, so I made a new order with the correct info - but no refund for the $100.34 for the 1st one. Attached is a screenshot of their latest response from customer service. This is THE most unbelievably insane statement I've ever heard From a company before.
Our second box arrived today and it is just as jam packed with goodies as our introductory box was. Amazing variety and quality. Enough treats for the kids and us to share. The best Japanese snack box I've found. Delivery is always quick and intact. A different experience each month. Never the same thing twice.
Every month when my box arrives is always so exciting, and the contents never fail to impress me! I've not received a thing I don't like. I'd highly recommend the premium box for the Kit Kat's and extra snacks and drink, it's so worth the money.
Tokyo treat is a reliable source of both interesting and new treats that you may not have tried before. It is like Christmas every time I get a box. In the past the shipping took for ever but was free and now the shipping cost money but the box gets to you lightning fast. Honestly I prefer how it is now. At the end of the day as long as i get to fry some new kit Kats I'm excited. Thanks Tokyo treat!
I've only gotten one box so far - but i'm really looking forward to the next one. Discovering the wide variety of different snacks and even figuring out how to eat them was so much fun.

Just received my first box and it was so much fun! Definitely more treats than I anticipated. Shipping was super quick too! It's been so fun trying all the items and I even got a few snacks that I had when I last visited Japan!
What an experience! Getting to try out these Japanese lollies; although sometimes I'm having to research to figure out the flavours; but nonetheless, absolutely yummy and enjoyable and I can't wait to see what's in my next box!
I've been a subscriber since June 2020. So far I've received three boxes and I've had a lot of fun trying all the different snacks! My first box took longest to arrive (5 weeks when estimated delivery time was 3-5 weeks) but the other two have been quicker, taking 3,5 weeks and just 6 days to reach me. I'm eagerly waiting for the next one already!
Do note that the subscription renews automatically if it's not canceled. You can easily check your next billing date in your profile after you've subscribed. :)
The shipment was incredibly fast in my end, aside from that the amount of amazing snacks, drinks, treats, and candy that arrive inside is immaculate! Having a theme every month really spicies up and gets you hyped for what other mysteries treats are to come!
I used to get these every month a few years back. Loved them but unfortunately had to cancel my subscription due to personal reasons, however, I have just signed up again as I couldn't resist. Super fast delivery, so many amazing treats, I feel like a kid on Christmas whenever I receive one. Definitely recommend for anyone, the perfect present or gift to you from you being a huge fan of anything Japanese related, this box is great to give you a little taste of Japan
I hear others are unhappy with customer support, but I have yet to need support, so I might be biased. Judging only by the product itself, I am very happy. The price is not much higher than if you'd buy these directly in Japan, and it brings me back great memories!
In 2022, I gave each of my 3 children a year's subscription to Sakuaraco (a branch of TokyoTreat Ltd. In December 2023, TokyoTreat Ltd. renewed my children's subscriptions without my permission and charged me $1,620 ($540 for each subscription). I have protested the charge, but TokyoTreat Ltd. says that their "system" will not allow a refund once it has been charged. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS, and potential customers should be aware that this company is no better than a common thief.
We specifically selected the "three month subscription" box option for our teen daughter for Christmas. All boxes arrived early with quality products and she loved it. However, when checking my bank account today they automatically charged us for another three months. I was not expecting this and they only have an email to contact them. ( No #). When you select a specific subscription box amount and pay for it upfront, they should not automatically re-subscribe & charge you for another three months! If that was the case I would've marked six months! I've yet to get a response and don't ever anticipate a refund. I'm so mad because this crap wasn't cheap (roughly $130 for three months).
I ordered the box just for 3 months, because I thought when it'll arrive it's gonna be really small box, so I don't want to be disappointed, but actually they put a lots of stuff in there and for the price it rlly fits and I'll keep on subscribing. + you get bonus every time something arrives.
Sharing or not, this box has enough goodies for a whole month and I love that it comes with a little guide to describe everything in case you need some help! The service is lovely, and I'm constantly excited for my next box!
Finally decided to get myself a Tokyo treat box and boy it did not disappoint. I know there is a bit of a wait coming all the way from Japan but I think its totally worth it. Also having a reward system in place as well just makes it even better. Can't wait to tuck into my treats. Highly recommended.
Answer: It is one of the worst ones out there. If anything goes wrong they refuse any sort of customer service. No refunds, no placements even if the box never arrives.
