Lying Transaction
October 22, 2023

I ordered a tire from them through Walmart. I then found one cheaper on line and canceled that order which they approved. I then tried to order the tire from another provider on Walmart at which time Walmart said there was suspicious activity on my card and canceled my order and put a hold on my card. Fine. Stupid, but fine. Three days later, I then ordered the tire directly through Tirebuyer with a different credit card, which was approved, and I have the order receipt and number, etc. The tire never arrived, so I contacted them, and they said it was canceled because my card was declined. This was a lie as there is nothing wrong with my card or my credit and the charge was approved immediately, hence the receipt. Apparently, they saw the same name and address and the previous cancellation and some lackey or bean counter decided to cancel that as well. When I asked them directly if they were refusing to sell me a tire, the rep said I should check with my bank. What ridiculous customer service. My credit is good, my second card was NOT on hold, and the rep was about as rude and condescending as they can get. Never will I buy anything from this company, and I recommend that others pay close attention to their customer service.

Hi Dan! First and foremost, I want to apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced during this process.

I understand that you initially placed an order through Walmart, canceled it, and then encountered issues when attempting to make a subsequent purchase through Tirebuyer. It appears there may have been some confusion regarding the payment process, and I would like to clarify our stance on this matter.

Tirebuyer utilizes a third-party payment processing company to handle transactions, and this company is responsible for verifying and approving credit card transactions. Unfortunately, in your case, it seems that this payment processing company declined the card for reasons beyond our control. We do not have direct access to or control over the decision-making process of this third-party service.

I understand your frustration, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. We value your business and strive to provide excellent customer service. I regret that our representative's response did not meet your expectations, and we will address this matter internally to ensure better communication in the future.

I want to assure you that we appreciate your interest in purchasing from Tirebuyer, and we do not have any intention of refusing service to our customers. It was not our intention to inconvenience you in any way, and we genuinely hope that you will consider us for your future tire needs.

First time buyer
April 21, 2024
Updated review

Since I've downgraded my assessment to 2 stars I'll start with the cons. I selected TireBuyer because they were referred by my local tire store. However, they did not have the local store of installer in their approved installers list, so I went to live chat to ask about that. It was confirmed that only one of the 3 stores owned by the installer that I wanted to use was in their system. The chat operator suggests that I have them "delivered" to the store of my choice, but the live chat froze and I was unable to continue the conversation. So I decided to order and send the "in stock tires to my house. Second issue, I ordered two 15" and two 16" tires for a custom streetrod. The two 16" tires arrived a day early and the two 15" tires arrived several days later even though the shipping label was created the day after the order. Third issue. The two 16" tires are almost 3 years old and the two 15" tires arrive looking like they were stored outside (even the UPS driver commented "they're really dirty"), but at least they were less than a year old.
Now the pros: The TireBuyer website was fairly well done and made it easy to select and buy tires.
In conclusion, I will not buy tires from a company that sells 3 year old tires. Anything less than 2 years old might be acceptable, but 3 is old stock and should have been discounted and noted at the time of the sale.

Did not have the closet store of installer in their approved installers, so I went to live chat to ask about that. It was confirmed that only one of the 3 stores owned by the installer that I wanted to use was in their system. The chat operator suggests that I have them "delivered" to the store of my choice, but the live chat froze and I was unable to continue the conversation. I decided to just send the tires to my home address and arrange the installation after they arrive. Other than that, I have no complaints about the shopping experience, and I would have rated it a 5 star in the absence of the glitch as noted.

I purchased 4 tires for my mom's Yukon and 27,000 miles later all four tires have broke cords in them. I was unaware that it had been driving very poorly until my dad informed me. Thinking it maybe a tire out of balances he takes it to a tire shop only to be informed he has 4 bad tires. Thinking they are trying to pull on over on him he goes to two other tires shop only to be told the exact same thing.I started trying to make a warrant claim on the 18 of October. Each email they would tell me one thing only to send me to another step each time telling me they would reply in 24/48 hours. The last time I called and was told I would be put to the top of the list. And 22 hours later I got a reply not with answer but only to inform me that if I hadn't heard back from them in 4 days to get back with them. For 3 weeks my mom's Yukon has been undriveable due to these bad tires and a business not willing to stand behind the products they sell. I have been using this brand tires for the last 15 plus years on very vehicle I have owned and have never had one mins trouble. I have bought almost every set from tire buyer. But with customer service like this I will never buy from them again. I am 3 week into this warrant claim with still no end in sight. I only gave them a one star because it is the less you can give. I would hope this review would help other buyers from buying from someone who does not stand behind their products.

So if you want to buy from a marketing company, NOT A TIRE company, that only cares about getting your money, please be warned. They don't stand behind anything.

I bought a complete set of 60,000 miles rated tires that were defective and could not be balanced anymore at 11,000 miles and they said basically "TO BAD, SO SAD".

I had to buy a new set elsewhere, to dangerous to drive anymore. They do not stand behind the tires they sell. They are an Internet marketing company, not a tire company.

Having experienced their true mission, I could never recommend to a friend such a sad example of professing to care about you and your business! Hope you are smarter than me to trust them and I even was suckered into their foo foo marketing and bought from them for years.

NEVER AGAIN will I be deceived by a marketing company pretending to be a real product/customer company that doesn't stand behind everything they sell!

Message me if you want to learn more about this no caring company and what really happens when you have a problem. Know they pass the buck to start!

So yes, maybe an OK company I guess if nothing goes wrong?

But isn't this why we choose a company to give our money to? To feel or be protected when something happens.

What if I had been killed because of these defective tires. (Think Firestone) I know this much 111%, I could have never warned you in advance!

Reviews seem to be 50/50 for this site so naturally I was a little skeptical ordering from them. They were nearly $30 cheaper per tire (5 tires, each $275) so I decided I'd give them a shot. They list all the installers near you and their price to install so I got to pick who the tires were sent to. I called a few local companies to see what they could order/install the same tires for. Long story short, I saved over $400 going through these guys. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones who got their order right? The right tires came in, delivered quickly, and the install price was correct that was listed on the site. I also dealt with customer service, (5 stars to them) not sure why so many negative reviews against them. My email I received after purchase had a place for a tracking number but the number wasn't there. So I emailed them asking what it was. I received an automated email immediately stating I would be contacted within two business days... Well, I was emailed less than 10 minutes later with the tracking number and they also went out of their way to go ahead and look up the estimated arrival day/time of the tires and added that to the email as well.

Flawless transaction, I recommend at least trying them out once regardless of the reviews. Like I said, maybe I got lucky? But I'll definitely be going through them again. I couldn't find anybody online or local that could even come close on price!

This place is absolutely incredible, I couldn't possibly sing their praises loud enough.

They had the cheapest Nitto tires by $30, FREE SHIPPING, and they were not only exceptional in response time (5 minutes) but they had the tires at my door in 15 hours.

I still don't know how it was possible, but I am beyond elated!

I purchased 2 tires for a great price. The delivery to their recommended installers occurred in a fairly timely manner, but the installation was completely botched. After I took the time to review the installer on TireBuyer.com's website, I came to realize that a critical review would not be posted by TIreBuyer.com.

I was also disappointed in the limited inventory, because when I returned to buy the other 2 tires to match the first two I purchased, they no longer had that tire. Of course, I wish I had purchased all four in the first purchase, but I had not used an online tire retailer before and wanted to see if it would be an extra headache. I only wanted to buy the second pair because the installer wanted the opportunity to make amends for the first botched installation.

That said, if I had purchased all four tires when I made the original purchase and the installer had not messed up the installation, I would have been really please with TireBuyer.com. I'm annoyed that they repeatedly asked me to review the installer and then when I did, they censored the review.

Worth It
January 28, 2019

I bought a full set of 235/55/19 Continentals. I did my due diligence and researched the tires and the companies selling them online. I would definitely buy from TireBuyer again. They had the best deal on a set of tires that cost $800 and up.

I'm fortunate to be in proximity to a warehouse. I ordered 12:20 AM on a Wednesday and the tires were at my installer, waiting at the door when they opened at 7:30 AM. Wrong tire, but they were delivered lightning fast. Called TireBuyer, proper size was reordered, no cost to me, and shipped, no cost to me, since the mistake was theirs. Right tires were delivered again first thing in the morning the next day. Had them installed Friday 1:00 PM. Start to finish, Wednesday, 12:20 AM to Friday, 1:00 PM, even with the size mixup. Never left my house once until they were installed and never had to personally pick up a single tire.

Couple of notes. First of all, you need to know what tire you need. You order the wrong thing, that's on you.

If the tire is defective, that's a manufacturing issue, not TireBuyer's fault.

I recall reading, maybe mistakenly, that the installer would be in touch when the tires were delivered. Not in my case. The Monro I used didn't reach out upon delivery. Also, if you wait until you get the delivery confirmation email from TireBuyer, at least in my case, that's 5 hours after the tires were actually delivered.

I'll be a repeat buyer.

Rohan was the chat representative who assisted me in a professional manner. I recently purchased a brand new set of Falken ZE950 A/S tires 225/50/17 for my 09 Acura TSX. The online purchase process was simple, Tire Buyer applied my Military discount using the ID.me link, and boom affordable tires. They shipped the tires the next day and arrived within a few days. I had them installed the following day. After three days of driving & less than 500 miles, I had an unfortunate tire puncture from a bungee strap with a metal S hook on the highway. It was on a Saturday and getting late, but luckily I was able to get my car towed to the nearest Firestone to get it fixed. Unfortunately, the tire had two bubbles on the side after being patched and aired back up. So that's when I contacted TireBuyer via chat and spoke with Rohan. He assisted me with fixing the problem and sending me out 1 brand new tire and emailed me the steps to return the defective tire. Always a pleasure having someone listen to you're concern and take the necessary action to help with fixing the problem. I've purchased other tires from TireBuyer in the past and will continue to do so. After my positive experience with their customer service ensures that I will return as a customer. Thanks again. *******

I noticed AMEX had a 8% rebate on a purchase from Tirebuyer. I have been a customer of TireRack since 1985, but I decided to give Tirebuyer a shot on winter tires. Their online site was easy to use, found in-stock Pirellis (the only winters that were not out of stock), choose Spiffy as an installer, and paid. Received an email acknowledgement. It was two days before the install date with nothing from Tirebuyer or Spiffy. I started a chat session with Tirebuyer, after 15 minutes I was told that my order was canceled. The chat rep never answered my follow-up questions, so I decided to call them. It was an overseas rep, and she could not explain why the tires became out of stock when their site still had them in stock. Something about "not being responsible with inventory." Fine, never going to use them again... I did get call from Spiffy the next day, and had to tell them the situation. "Simone" needed to get with their stateside Tirebuyer rep and promised to give me a call back. No surprise, I never got that call back.
