Terrible app
February 20, 2019

2 days of working with this app and I had to get rid of it. It delivered messages 1 1/2 hours late and really messed some things up between me and my ex wife. I would not recommend it for any co parents!

My wife and I are 3 days into using this app, and being the narcissistic gaslighter that she is, she has only included words that clearly reflect that she cares nothing about our young daughter. Her goal is, and always has been, to use my poor baby to hurt me. Let me add, she has a recent DUI (her second) with a suspended license. Where is the Justice for dads who truly care about their children? Coparent, in my case, is a word that is 100% useless when one parent thinks that everything should be done their way and only their way. While I thought that this site would have rules and be monitored if someone is NOT in any way interested in coparenting, to me this app is useless too. PARENTS***** if your "Coparent" treats you badly, they are going to do the same to your children as they get older! ITs A GIVEN!

I've sent a couple of emails to the "contact us" address on the Talk Parents website. My message show up as "Right Aligned" instead of the standard "Left Aligned". As these notes will be submit to the court for review, I'd like the format to be corrected before the info in viewed. I sent couple of emails, I haven't received a response nor has the issues been addressed. Where can I find the customer service telephone number?

Talking Parents is a very frustrating company to deal with. I have had great difficulty connecting with the other parent. I emailed them more than 5 times and asked to speak to someone about my issued and I asked to be walked through the set up to which I received only email responses. Then I asked if they could delete my information so I can sign up anew to which they again sent a generalized email response. I am still not connected or able to sign in and I am still waiting for help from them! It's terrible and shameful that I cannot receive technical help from them after 3 weeks of asking. I wish they had a competitor, it would be easier to get my court order changed to a different parent communication APP.

Sad
November 22, 2018

It's 3 am the night before hankagiving and I've spent half the day on this app, reading my wife's paragraph long abusive dishonest message she wrote to make her look like mom#1. I haven't seen my kids in 5 months because my wife lied to the police and courts. They just empower her and her desire to alienate me from my kids has her successful. The bond i had with them is broken (ages 3,3 and 2). She gets to talk down on me in this app, continuing the abuse I've endured for the last 4 years. She uses it to try to trick me into contacting her. How does this company feel about being part of an evil American enterprise. I miss you boys so much, i love u guys and hope we'll be together soon. -dad

No notifications
November 12, 2020

I'll start off with the negative: Big problem for me is that I don't get notifications through my app when a new message is posted. This has huge consequences and should never happen!
Now on to the positive. I like this app, it has saved me from a daily load of horrible text messages by my X. He is now holding back in his ugliness, and when he does send me nasty messages, it is recorded and unalterable. The complete communication is one click printable and useable in court, as opposed to printing out separate emails and text messages. So it costs some money, I think the convenience offered and time saved is definitely worth a few bucks a month.
I would add wording in a court document that states communication should be about children's logistics only, this way there really is no room for anything else, making it (almost) impossible for narcissist to spew their gall. All in all this is a great tool to keep nasty X-es at bay yet still be able to communicate about your children.

There many other no charge site, Yahoo etc. where you can keep your, the only plus side is you know when the other party has read your email (similar to outlook email receipts)
They do charge if you want copies of the conversations ie emails, $40

Hi Ralph. You are correct that there are free ways to communicate, but they are not as in depth and as accurate as what Talking Parents can provide. Talking Parents was created by a team with a law background, so they know exactly what information can be brought into court. There is a fee to receive records from us, as these records have been certified as accurate by our team and can be brought into a courtroom. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do to serve you.

"Toxic"
May 25, 2021

This is the worst and most toxic app I've ever heard of. I has nothing to do with coparenting, and for some it gives them a false sence of empowerment. Like it's some sort of shield. And the lies that fly, it's just all together horrible. Oh and they want you to pay for it... No sir.

It's a website to just check in and if there's any importance that needs to be communicated regarding the child but the man I was married to uses it like a smear campaign hopefully one day the judge will see through it using it for years now

This is a necessity in high conflict cases. The format is very readable. Also nice to have in parenting situations with a lot of records such as special medical needs.

Narcissist Abuse
February 6, 2021

I'm the dummy that requested an app to use for coparenting with a mentally, emotionally, verbally abusive ex and am now paying the price. It's given liberal access to my ex and his girlfriend to constantly message and bash in an attempt to paint a horrible picture of our situation. As soon as our agreed upon year is up, I am not using it any longer. If anything attempts at coparenting have been made worse. There should be some sort of monitoring for harassment. I feel anxious every time there is a new message.

Attorneys and court systems tout this website/app as being great for coparenting but as a user for three years, I would strongly suggest you find an alternative means of communication.

The app is not free on your phone, but the website(with serve limitation/ software bugs is), this was poorly explained to me during the mediation process, and had I know the limitations of the app, I would not accept that for my coparenting agreement.

The software/ application is poorly supported, buggy, rarely updated and inconsistent with how messages are sent, received, etc. You can send messages that do not get received by your other partner for several hours. Same goes for dates.

As this app is relatively new, and most coparenting agreements will span the adolescence of children. I highly doubt this app will exist for 18+ years without being purchased or absorbed by another company, leaving you at the mercy of whatever the developer chooses to do after they have extracted as much cash as possible from unsuspecting abs confused parents.

If the app works for your specific situation, great but for most situations is a cash grab from insiders of the divorce legal world, that don't have anything substantial to offer.

Fantastic!
August 8, 2018

This is an amazing app/website used in the uk. I've used it to correspond with an abusive ex and so far it had delivered and has been great. I printed off the correspondence for the court at a nominal fee of about £3. I would recommend this esp those who are dealing with controllers, manipulators and narcissists. Everything is logged if you've gone no contact with everything else. Excellent work and more advertising!

I really liked using this app. My ex is an extreme narcissist and everything that I always say gets misconstrued and turned around in telephone conversation. This puts the power back in my hands and lets me have more control over conversations and showing when he's not being honest or decisive. It was great because I could download copies and have it sent to the guardian ad litem and to the judge. The one thing I will say you never do win with a narcissist but it's a tool to add to an Arsenal to help combat them. The other thing I love is that it's taken away they need to have to communicate via the telephone. It's nice because it's free but for a small upgrade you can print copies as well. Highly recommend.

Book of Control 1:1
Above all You must ensure by all means necessary that the child(ren)' PARENTS DO NOT actually communicate!

6 years and I have not been able to communicate with my coparent while using an app that dares call itself "talking" parents.

How can some sick individuals allow something like this to exist? And how can there be NO review, no process in place to ensure parents are ACTUALLY talking?

This is such an effective tool for parental estrangement. Highly recommended to all attorney who want to keep getting their clients money to keep a child away from the other parent.

The app has been imposed on me despite my written and verbal refusal to use it. All my constitutional rights have been violated by it and some feel I will not be able to do anything about it.

Talkingparents, please remove all photos of my daughter from this site. I am not comfortable with them being shared through or on this platform.

This site has done enough damages to my relationship with my daughter... Please remove my account on here.

To anyone using this app... I am sorry for you... I feel your pain. Wishing you good luck with it. If you can get away from using it, RUN!

Great app/website
June 7, 2020

Ok- I'm amused by the negative reviews. People, the majority of your "issues" of gaslighting, communication etc are due to YOU and your EX. It doesn't matter if it's text, email, phone or an app. Stop complaining and blaming the app! If it is that bad, use a third party to communicate between the two of you (ie parallel parenting). There are some issues with application- for example, the calls- it's extremely expensive. It should be a lower cost. It's pretty costly but you can use the free website from your phone. It's easy! No app can magically make your co parent respond and work with you... there is no such thing as magic. Don't indulge in a narcissistic parents behavior. Don't allow it. Tell them to stop and refuse to communicate until they calm down (keep things brief). This website does its job. It keeps records accurately and that's the point. It's not the websites job to figure out how to coparent for you. We've had this since 2016.
