Horrible experience. PERIOD.

Where do I start? My $2,000.00 order with sonic electronix has been nothing but a hassle. I purchased a Hertz HSP1 amp combo for a bike we had in our shop, 10 DAYS goes by and I still haven't received a tracking number for shipment, yet it says on their website that the part is "IN STOCK". The first time I called their customer support number, I spoke to a lady and was told that the part is not in stock in their warehouse and it has no ETA as to when it would be. Couple days go by, I call again. This time, I was told that the part was coming from the supplier and getting shipped to the warehouse and then getting shipped to me. Why wouldn't they just dropship it if that's the case? Couple more days go by, I called again to see the status on this amplifier, I really need to get this customers bike out of my shop! I was told that the amp was getting shipped directly to me now... why has this changed? I told the lady on the phone, "Great I'll look out for the tracking". Couple more days, no tracking number still, yet the amp still says "IN STOCK" on their website. What gives? I was told that someone from the warehouse would be in touch on where the amp was at and what was going on. I still have yet to receive a phone call, text, email or anything in regards to that matter. Now we're on day 10 of nothing since I placed the order. I received all of the other stuff, but I need this amp to get this bike out of the shop. I called on today to see the status, only to be told that the amp is now shipping from the supplier to the warehouse again? I asked "Florence" to escalate the situation and put me in touch with a supervisor, I was told at 10:40am that the supervisor was in a meeting and that she would run a message to him to let him know to call me back. 1 o clock comes around and I still haven't received anything. I called back in and spoke with Florence again, stating I hadn't received anything still and I want to talk to a manager, she stated he was still in a meeting and she could not transfer me to a voicemail or anything, only that she would put the message through to him. At this point, I'm beyond irritated, I just spent $1,500 on an amp and I have no Idea where it's at. 3 o clock rolls in and I call back again and get a guy named JP, I stated I was talking with Florence about the matter. He, within 4 minutes, was able to look at the shipping details and stated that my amp was at their warehouse and getting ready to ship out, 10 DAYS AFTER I ORDERED IT! Why couldn't I get this answer from anyone else?

This has been the WORST customer service experience I have ever had to deal with, I will NEVER choose to spend my money here again!

Tip for consumers:

I would've hoped for better customer service from such a reputable company.

I had ordered 4 Memphis MJM822 8in subs on 6/25/23 Sunday which the site said they would be delivered that weekend Saturday the 1st of July. Site did say there were in stock even 4 weeks after ordering them. Did not receive them so I called that Monday the 3rd.which I did noticed the site switched my subs to a different model number 812 on its own. I did not authorize when I talk to Justin/Dustin. He said I ordered those. I told him no I ordered the mjm822 and I have the email from that day.He was very rude on how he talked and tried to handle the problem. He told me fine he will switch them back to the 822. However in a very rude and unprofessional way. I ask him how long will they take to get he was like 3 weeks nothing he can do hole conversation was just unprofessional. Told him was there anything he can do h said no. Which I finally got tired of his attitude and told him I wanted to talk to a supervisor he said he will have them call me did not want to forward me to one and I said if being a sales person is to hard to find another career he end up hanging up on me. And I never received a call from a supervisor.so I waited 6 weeks order was never shipped, and order was switch back from the 822 to the 812s. I spoke to a gentleman did not get his name. About my order. He said he will get an email from the warehouse to call back the next day. I called back two days later and spoke to honey. She had advised me that the subs were no longer going to be sold discontinued. I was never notified of the subs being discontinued at all even when the website had the in stock 4 weeks after I ordered them so I end up, asking for my money back it was about 10 days still have not received my refund so I called back again and the lady that says that does the refunds she seen the cancellation but not did not receive a referral to give the money back. I told her the whole story and she advised me to talk to Adam and I did the same thing and told Adam the whole story and the problems I had. He was very helpful after speaking with Adam. I end up giving sonic, electronic another shot and which I end up getting some subwoofers through him and he had them shipped out the same day, Adam did apologize for his coworkers and he understood my frustration Adam did give me his personal email and the number for had any problems to let him know. I did receive confirmation that day that my subs were shipped out and then I will receive on Monday. Today is Sunday so I will find out tomorrow if I get the subwoofers, but Adam was very helpful in solving the problem and keeping another customer happy and ordering from sonic electronics again. I think Justin or Dustin really needs to have a conversation with his direct manager on communication mainly because of the information that I was never told that he could handle the situation a lot better just like Adam did. I want to thank Adam for going over and beyond and being understandable about my frustrations and getting an order out to me as soon as possible something the first sales representative should have done or informed me that they were discontinued and making me me wait another five weeks.

Something is wrong with this place and ¯\_()_/¯ isn't a way to handle a situation (see UPDATE below)

I tried to go through all official routes and:
1) playing stupid to me doesn't work
2) responding in more than 4 word sentences does work
3) responding period, also works.

My 16$ part was lost in the mail and finding anyone who cares about such a small scale item is tough at this joint. This place is unwilling to file an insurance claim w/FedEx. I call FedEx to see if I can do it and they need SE to 'sign a release' to allow me to do it myself. I guess I'm SOL at this point.

I really hope the Reputation Coordinator, Steven H. Of SE is reading these. Maybe he got canned and that's why this recent rash of poor reviews is occurring (poor damage control)? Maybe there is no such thing as a reputation coordinator and it's a stock photo? Maybe SE has no one at the helm right now?

Anyways, I'm stabbing in the dark above because nothing seems to be going right at the moment and any form of leadership needed to right this sinking ship is sorely lacking. This review was my absolute last form of recourse to at least get the message out that this place is not interested in you and your situation no matter how meager (16$) it appears to be. This is not a good sign and I wish others to try Crutchfield first - they've always done it right and continue to serve as the example for others to follow.

By the way SE, I make 16$ in about 7 minutes at my job. It's not about the money, it's about doing the right thing and providing a clear means to achieve this objective (see Crutchfield note above). If you're really interested in making this right, track me down --> Metra 70-7036 supposedly delivered 5/17 in MD, tracking ends in *******. You find me? I swear I'll make this right on my end and write another review detailing your efforts.

I don't think this is a shady company. I do believe that they're willing to make things right. I don't think that someone needs to go to this extreme to get help (especially for such a low ticket item). SE, you really need to lessen the friction on this process and start listening to the people who pay your bills.

At this point people, I recommend you pass on this place. There are multiple other places where you'll only pay marginally more.

UPDATE:
Allyn Rahim (youtube goofball extraordinaire) took the time to personally take an interest in this and fix it fast. I am completely satisfied with the resolution, but regrettably, will try other vendors in the meantime until this experience fades away some more. Upon re-read, I did over react about a 'sinking ship'. In the end though, I feel pretty strongly that something so simple should have been done and over with in a period much less than a month.
