I've only purchased a couple of things from Sally Beauty and had a very bad experience. The dryer I purchased has a diffuser, but the diffuser doesn't turn so you can only direct the air in one direction! I've had dozens of dryers in my lifetime and this is the only one that doesn't turn. Then I purchased eyebrow pencils that the website said, buy 2 get one free. I bought two and did NOT get one free. They claim it's because I didn't qualify. Why didn't I qualify was my question back to them. I was told it was because I didn't add the 3rd eyebrow pencil to the order. I've never had a BOGO or BOGT where I had to add it to the cart (I've been ordering online for years!). I was told that they will not make good on it now either. Basically, they told me, too bad, so sad. I will not be purchasing from them in the future. There are too many other reputable companies with much better customer service (who try to make the customer happy by righting a wrong) to deal with them again! How much would it have cost them to make this right? A couple of dollars? Well, for that couple of dollars, they lost a customer for life. I spend more than a couple of dollars a year on beauty products.

Two days ago, I made an online purchase for the first time and chose the two hour delivery option, only to call customer service shortly after, to find out what time my order would be delivered, only to be told that the store on Cottman Avenue in Philly had system glitches and that they won't be able to ship my order and noone reached out to say this. So, I told them to cancel my order and refund my money, only to find out the next day that they didn't refund all of my money which was the shipping and it was $3.20 short. So, just know that this will be the very first and last time, I would be buying any of your products. I felt like I had to post a review to let others know what you all do at SALLY BEAUTY.

Horrible online experience 3rd time in a year doing online order they seem to be out of alot of stuff in the past when ordering clearance items. On this order however nothing was on clearance the only item they were out of was the free Morgan Taylor nail polish they had the one that was the full price in stock sent email item was out after order was sent didnt ask if i wanted to substitute or just charge me half price for the one bottle they sent when i called them they said they couldnt send a substitute but could send another bottle of the same one i recieved thats worthless to me so now i have to return to store. On top of it order came without any shipping slip nothing wrapped up surprised nothing was broken. And have to make a trip to the store to return. I will not do business with Sally Beauty again online or in store order place 4/22/2021

I have been to a local Sally Beauty supply twice. The first time I was recommended a shampoo that supposedly everone raves about. After purchase I found it harsh, drying and difficult to apply (no suds). Recently I returned to see if they could recommend a product to help with my grey yellow hair. The sales clerk tried to be helpful and after a bit of time I was recommended a product. I read the back information about what the product was for, questioned the clerk because it did not seem to be the correct produxt for treating my problem. Unfortunately I listened to her and not my intuition and purchased it. After using it once it turned my entire hair yellow! After a visit to a salon that is quite familiar with coloring and products, it seems that this may be a very difficult problem to fix. May have to try several different things. Take my advice...do NOT ask for assistance with what products to purchase. My experience is that they don't know what they are selling and what their products are about and for. Save your money and go to a salon with experienced staff. You will be glad you did!

Online shopping is horrible

I've been to my local Sally Beauty a few times, I have had no problems buying in store... But then with the store closures I decided to order online.

My first order was somehow shipped to a local store and after several phone calls and about two weeks later I after sevearl unanswered emails and a phone call finally issed a refund and had to re-place my order despite the order being sent to a LOCAL store. My second order was shipped missing hair-dye without contacting me, as well as my 3rd.

Something needs to be done about this horrible shipping service, why would you send a customer hair diluter without the dye? And then ask for a customer to review it!? When I did say "I cant review this because it was never shipped to me" They simply delete your comment and ignore you.

I have dealt with SB customer service numerous times and only to be ignored unless you call them.

Order a few things 10 days ago and has yet to ship. They keep sending out emails saying to be patient but not offering anything other than that. If you need something quickly, try another site.

Ordered curl machine

I ordered a curl machine from them, arrived within the given period of time. It was in good condition. Its actually easier to use than i thought. Helps me get silky smooth curl.

Before I could drive I would just order online & it was a good experience at the time, even better when I could drive so I didn't have to wait for shipping ofc; p

As far as diversity of products there are some, but they are based more NA market, so trying to find premium dye's like Palty or anything Japanese based like Milbon/Shiseido is impossible, so I end up buying off ebay instead. That's probably my only qualm about this place.

Of what they did have that I liked I bought & nothing really negative to say about the experience either. If nothing else I can at least talk with the staff if I'm unsure of anything or want ideas. There a great bunch, friendly & outgoing.

Disappointed
March 25, 2019

I placed an order on the 20th, my card was declined due to incorrect billing information. But my card was still charged four times. I called someone to speak to them about these transactions, I was told that it would take 72 hours for the charges to be returned... here it is the 25th, and it's still not reflecting on my account. I've tried to call each number found for sally's, and each time I got an automated message saying " our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8AM-7pm, our offices are currently closed, you can reach us by email..." It is Monday at 8:30AM, where is my money Sally's?

I don't even know where to begin with this review. First off, when I went to use my gift card online I was receiving an error message. After 4 store visits and multiple calls to customer service, I was informed the gift card had to have a 4 digit pin instead of 3 digits. Not sure why they would have different gift card options for in store vs online purchases? After waiting a week to receive the correct gc in the mail, I placed the online order since the sally stores did not sell the products I was looking for. After 2 weeks of not receiving my order I checked the tracking to find it was returned to sender because one of the products exploded in the box. I called customer service and they informed me I cannot purchase hair care online as it is hazardous while transportation. Why does Sally's have an online presence if the products are bound to explode during transport? I am going on 3 months now of trying to use my gift card to receive my order. Will absolutely never shop here again to say the least.

Great Store

Beware 2 Hour Shipping

Wow. Sally Beauty offers a two hour shipping option on their website. You can go all the way through the payment and order process, all while they give you the impressions that you will get what you're paying for. However, once you've ALREADY ORDERED they inform you that if you place your order after 4 pm, it actually won't arrive until tomorrow. Not only that, but it wont arrive until tomorrow by 4PM. When I discovered this I immediately tried to cancel my order, since it would be quicker and cheaper for me to just do in store pickup tomorrow morning. However, they do not allow you to change your order, even when it is STILL IN THE PROCESSING PHASE. The scammed me out of 8 dollars and I'm not even getting the service that I wanted. I would absolutely not recommend this website to anybody, the way that they treat their customers is horrible.

Multiple bad experiences with my ONE online order. Sally's cancelled items without informing me & when I inquired about my 5 missing items from my 5/26/2020 order, I was told the items were out of stock even though their website didn't state that at the time of purchase. I was advised that this is bc their website is not up to date. I was charged $6 for 3-5 business day shipping & did not receive any of the 3 items they actually shipped to me (out of 8) within that time frame after receiving my tracking number. I spent 2 days trying multiple times to call Sally's bc I kept getting a Verizon message that their lines were busy. Once I was finally connected, I waited on hold for 60 minutes before an advisor (Monica) came on the line. Monica was scripted & it was obvious she was trained to get ppl off the phone asap. I was refused a refund stating they did not have control over when items shipped bc they were in Texas & items were shipped from warehouses across the U.S. I did not accept this illogical reasoning & requested to submit a formal complaint. Monica said she would have a supervisor call me back, but could not give me any sort of confirmation that this would happen. Things escalated & Monica hung up on me & did not call back even though she captured my call back number at the beginning of the call.

Worst place I've ever worked in 45 years. The management is unscrupulous and deceitful. They will dispose of you as soon as they have used you for whatever it was they needed, but then you're gone.

I ordered a bunch of stuff for 50% off... Paid with my Pay Pal. And get an email with my order. Everything looked right- Today- I get a invoice charging me FULL price for EVERYTHING and they didn't send me 3 items that I most wanted. Only reason I ordered the rest of the 50% off crap was to get my order over 50.00 so I could get free shipping. HOW can they CHANGE the Price AFTER You Order And just NOT give YOU what YOU ORDERED? THEY SAID IT WAS IN STOCK?! SUCH BS> NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER ONLINE FROM THEM. Customer Service has YET to get back to me.

Is it me or is it that every single Sally's beauty have at least one (if not all) rudest customer service. Every time I visit one around me it's never a pleasant experience. Let's not forget associates… that if it wasn't for US CUSTOMERS YOU WOULD NOT HAVE A JOB. Your job as a CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSOCIATE is to perform customer service. Meaning if a customer comes in.? You greet them "hi how are you? Is there anything I can help you with today" Checking out " do you have an account with us? Would you like to create one?" It's that simple. I was not greeted upon enter, I was not asked if I needed help, I was not asked if I had an account. My item were tossed more like thrown into the Sally's paper bag like I didn't matter (that's how they made me feel) If you are not about people I think you are in the wrong profession. Should really consider retraining associate about customer service. Overall, very disappointing. Not professional at all.

I have never attempted to resolve an issue with a company with such horrible customer service. It is impossible to reach a live person and they will not return an email. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED POORLY.
