Listen, you can't write almost anything unless it fits into their perfect little bubble of factually incorrect. Most answers are just downright wrong. Correcting others kindly gets you banned. No one answers the questions fully. There are definitely a few good writers, and I use it soley for their content. Otherwise? Trash.
Quora like many other social media outlets is extremely liberally bias, has moderators that ban for anything they disagree with even when its not at all offensive or even factual, they will ban you for putting for information that goes against their narrative. Extremely bad site run by mostly leftist moderators with power trips turning the forum into a propaganda machine for their own personal beliefs that is making the site increasingly useless which is sad because it has so much potential being ruined by the fringe losers who have pathetic enough lives to moderate everything they disagree with either because they have nothing else to do and must somehow justify their jobs, or they have no life outside of social media. If you want to get the vibe of the website just think Twitter except with a longer attention span.
Caught too many very offensive dumb remarks concerning Trump! Idiots hating Trump and do not know jack about his accomplishments in America! Website really sucks! Just as repulsive and worse then Twitter!
Quora will edit or not allow facts on their site, especially if they contain Conservative values. The site is basically full of leftist idiots who have never done a single fact check in their entire lives. I've even had Quora delete my posts when I put up factual links (especially any. Gov links) backing my statements
Was simply looking something random up and found myself on Quora. Had never used the site, had never heard of it and quite frankly was just in a hurry to read a quick question. I'm usually very careful about my sources, this moment has haunted me since. Their so called facts seem to be cheesy articles. They have inundated my mailbox with so many ignorant "articles", been trying to unsubscribe but that's not been working too well. They also redirect to other sites, probably theirs in order to inflate their views. Quora blows.
At first it was fun, but I've noticed some recurring themes. It seems like a place for trolls and full of negativity. Not to mention this strange obsession over China, India, and Mid East. I get harass for innocent answers and the trolls definitely gang up once they smell a target. I see enough drama on Facebook, don't need more from a crappy forum
This like so many sites is really run, not by its "moderators" but by the readers who are mostly liberal to leftist wing nuts.
Any question which is answered too accurately can be reported for any number of amorphous criteria, "collapsing' the answers (blocking them) and warning the too-candid writer that he will be banned.
It has the desired effect.
They remove your items that you submitted, without even so much as a detailed reason. You submit an appeal only to never hear from them about it again and that is the literal end. It is unprofessional to leave us in what I call the Quora phantom zone like that, with no chance to change your format or structure, because you are not apprised of where you erred. You are left to float out there in Literary space pondering what policy did you allegedly violate and it is not right. It is wrong on so many levels. For these reasons, I have decided to refrain from answering any more requested question seekers. I have dispensed enough free advice to last them a lifetime online, since they keep your submissions anyway.
The whole website/platform seems to be moderated entirely by bots. This facilitates blatant abuse, trolling, and manipulation of the moderation and vote systems without any oversight, rewards those acting in bad faith, and punishes genuine content creators.
There's some decent content on the website but you have to wade past a torrent of crap.
The arbitrary nature of the moderation and almost complete lack of human quality assurance means the experience can mostly be characterised as an increasingly toxic waste dump of spam, hate speech, propaganda, groupthink, and memes. It's becoming a worse version of Reddit.
I will always get topics about superheroes like "Has Hulk ever transformed using something other than his anger?" I'm so tired sick those questions and not of them is not topic I want Sorry if I was being rude. They ignore me and off-topic
Nearly every amazing community I've been a part of has always had some attention seeking moderators that make it about them. Quora is one of those. I always get about 2-3 likes on my posts and even get individual thanks. But I notice when I'm on a good roll, the mods block me from answering a question, sort of like pulling you by the leash and saying "hey... don't forget we're around and can do stuff to ya". Yeah well I'm done. I prefer to be on platforms that give me freedom to post as much as I want, when I want to. Not when some greasy fat nerd behind the keyboard decides I've had enough. Avoid this site and if you don't, remember what I wrote.
I've seen porn, human corpses, articles on weapon possession, war casualties. I post one rebuttal to someone who inferred the Ukrainians staged the entire devastation occurring now and get blocked? I used one word that may have been offensive, just one. Quora is garbage.
You can't express an opinion found "offensive" by anyone who is easily offended. I had some opinions that I put in a question that I asked about gender. As soon as I said something the moderators didn't agree with, I was attacked, they tried to make me feel stupid, and when I stood firm on my opinion, they deleted the question. Honestly, why have a website where people are supposed to share insight, when if your insight isn't what is wanted to be heard, it's deemed invalid and thrown away? Very biased and terribly moderated.
Too many answers are so pro Zionist uber Israel and against Palestine and Muslim culture as to make it uninformative and worthless. Seems to be a dearth of real academics in yr employee roster. Logging off. Permanently. #BDS
I find Quora to be an interesting site. Subjects run the gamut from entertainment and advice on personal issues to financial info and politics. In all but the last, it is informative, entertaining and usually worth the read. They hurt their credibility however when answering anything political. They invariably answer with the same slant and sarcastic abuse of all things not liberal and especially as it relates to former President Trump that you might encounter while reading the most famous of the left leaning partisan pages. It truly is in conflict with any kind of neutral forum in this area.
A lot of right wing people complain here that they are targeted. The reality is they just complain more. I am left leaning and got suspended from Quora for no discernible reason. They claimed I had multiple accounts but two of us in the same house used Quora. When we explained the situation, they restored my account. Then two weeks later it happened again and this time we were both banned for life. No option, no appeal, just taken out by their stupid, inept AI.
Avoid Quora no matter what your political stripes are, the platform is very badly run and draconian. Don't waste your time.
The ridiculous censorship and removal of any comment that does not pass the liberal smell test is excessive to the point of making the site pointless. Certainly crazy or abusive comments need to be removed but issues such as whether racial equality is real or a myth or other controversial subjects like alleged police brutality or whether some women lie about rape cannot be discussed.
3-21-20 Actually to their credit, Quora seems to have gotten a little better lately.
The moderators are inconsistent at best. They collapse your content for a policy violation, however they won't tell you what you have done wrong. Very few win appeals. Some users get away with anything (normally left wing sjw's), but others are judged harshly. I have been called all sorts of disgusting names and have reported them, yet very little done. Can someone tell me what is wrong with this answer?
Quora, the place where people can get away with writing any comment, spread propaganda or harassment, be offensive as long as they don't use the word $#*!.
However if you, God forbid, call someone out when they blatantly offend you using hypocritical and passive aggressive lingo, your comment gets deleted because it's straight to the point.
If I can't write it there I'll write it here. Quora can go $#*! itself along with it's employees who should get killed for being stupid $#*!ing imbeciles who can't judge nor care to judge properly.
Went on for professional legal advice- all I got was a bunch of cry baby patronizing male chauvinists who did not comprehend the difference between "I am. and I have not for 18 years"- hypocritical $#*! wipes who like to control women because (gasp!) they may have made some mistakes in the Past- well this is now, not then- Bunch of weak men!
Answer: Yes, the questions about penis size and virginity seems to sponsor endless discussion!
Answer: Because Google put Quora answers at the top of their search results when people search for a question they see the answer from Quora. Which is stupid because most answers on Quora aren't even correct lol. Idk why Google wants to promote that site, if they own it or they want to buy it and incorporate it into Google at some point. I think the site is awful and it should be shut down because it's just a propaganda site. You do not see Quora from any other search engine for example duckduckgo. But you see it in Google.
Answer: No, it is obviously leftist but it does on occasion allow questions or replies for short periods of time that are obviously uncomfortable to the "politicaly correct" crowd in a useless attempt to appear unbiased.
Answer: I honestly feel and highly suspect from certain traits that Quora pays Google to be high on the rank and they get *buddy buddy* with the government. Quora is essentially too big to fail. We no longer have capitalism but now live under governmentism which Trump pledges to end but can he? Does he really mean what he says? That is the million $ question.
Quora has a rating of 1.5 stars from 612 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Quora most frequently mention social media, hate speech and left wing. Quora ranks 79th among Question And Answer sites.
