When you pour your heart and soul into writing a book, you hope that you're able to convey your message clearly and succinctly. The reviewer at OnlineBook Club.org delved into my writing full throttle. I KNOW he really read my words and "got it." In fact, he caught a few typos/errors that my highly paid editors missed! WOW!
There's a checks-and-balances system incorporated wherein the reviewer has to write "blurbs" which are provided to the author for authentication. Brilliant idea! I paid for for Clarion and Kirkus reviews which were in my opinion garbage... nitpicking. This company really delivers the goods in a proper manner with emphasis on the things that really matter, and the potential readers benefit directly.

My experience with OBC has been one growing and growing surprise. AS very positive surprise. I started thinking "a review, a lot of money". That it would result in a review with 5 stars was unbelievable. And now the BOTD! It was fun to design for my social media every day a new advert, advised by Sarah c.s. And the fan mail! A new experience for me. The number is now fast growing direction 200, among them a few on basis of reading the whole book already! They all get an individual answer. Not a single negative tone. It surprises me that I'm obviously able to write a good book. I was excellent in news reporting for the newspapers I used to work for. My weakness was the nice interview or bigger article. And now this... The book "World Cruise by Whale", the review by Abraham Ozo, the guidance by Sarah and her team might change my career as an author. Thjank you, people at OnlineBookClub!

I had a review before this one for this same website. The owner asked me to take it down because he wanted me to chat with their "24/7" customer support. You will see in the photo that not only has it been 24 hours since I sent in my issue, but it has been 24 hours with no response. I will not be taking down this review again. I tried to resolve my problem only to be ignored.

This website started okay. I did get paid, but many reviews have complained about not getting paid. They seem to pick and choose who they pay out according to other 1-star reviews. It starts at a minimal amount of $5, but this is supposed to be a small odd job type. You read a book for free or buy the book at a discount, and they pay you back more than you spent for your review. Your review gets checked to make sure it follows guidelines.

The problem I ran into was how unprofessional and inaccurate a LOT of their editors are. This issue isn't just one editor. They either don't follow the guidelines themselves and count suggestions of rephrasing of a perfectly grammatically accurate sentence as a grammatical error, give extremely low subjective scores, and then only give their full explanation when you point out that they gave you a two-vague sentence explanation. I have had Oxford commas reported as a grammar error when it says, in the guidelines, they shouldn't count as a grammar error. If you have dyslexia, you will get accused of not reading the book because you mixed up a unique name in the book. If you don't describe the events that happen in the book, you get accused of not reading the book, but if you do, your review gets flagged as having spoilers.

I have gotten little to no help from the moderators and "professionals" as they either seem to be unsure what is going on or completely misunderstand what I was trying to get fixed. The owner completely disregarded my last review about editors and only found an issue with the moderators not being helpful.

You get to have your editors recheck their score and explain why only 3 times in the entire time on this platform. You can have an admin recheck it, but you only have 2 lifetime admin checks. It generates an environment where the editors can do anything and get away with it. If you aren't allowed to report editors who give inaccurate and unprofessional scores, they will score how they want, accurate or not.

I will be resigning from this website, which means permanently removing myself. I have read all the other low reviews. It seems the owner is also scamming the authors. Read other reviews to see their perspective.

My book made Book of the Day for Black Friday and I truly enjoyed it. I had nearly 50K views and numerous comments. A very enjoyable experience.
