UPDATE: I've emailed ND over 30 screenshots proving my claims. And I know others have complained to ND about the same problems, with the same results.

The single worst social media platform I've ever used!

It was ok at first, but the staff now allow bullies to endlessly violate the guidelines (Andrew J, in particular) and call all the shots across the entire platform. The staff are 100% biased and target certain members. Respectful exchange of views is penalized as "disrespect" almost 100% of the time. The only content that isn't penalized are posts about lost cats and GoFundMe campaigns.

And the only members who aren't penalized are the leads who endlessly violate the guidelines with no consequences.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS TERRIBLE PLATFORM! It destroys community.

Full story: Well over a year ago, I made a post about rape prevention after a 13 year old was sexually assaulted while walking to school. Andrew J put laughing emojis all over the post and comments. So, I told him in no uncertain terms, that rape isn't something to laugh at.

He's been targeting me ever since. I ignored him for a long time but then local reviewers began telling me that my comments were being removed because Andrew J was reporting, literally, every post and comment I made. Local reviewers also confirmed that Andrew J had created a fake profile to attack me on my rape prevention post. Every local reviewer minus one reported the profile as fake and it was removed.

I sent screenshots of those conversations to ND as proof that Andrew J was violating his position as a lead.

Unsurprisingly, ND staff took zero action on Andrew's account. But Andrew J is so well known for causing problems across the entire platform that you don't even have to state Andrew's name for people to know exactly who you're talking about.

On one post, I wrote, "I told a neighbourhood lead to stop being petty and childish and my account was suspended for four days."

Literally, every single person on the thread immediately knew I was referring to Andrew J.

No one had to ask which lead I was talking about. But, ND staff continue to let Andrew J violate the guidelines completely, without a single consequence, regardless of the reports and email complaints staff receive about Andrew's abuse.

ND has demonstrated a history of bias and inconsistent moderation for over a year.

It's turned into the absolute worst social media platform I've ever used and I can only warn people to stay away from the bullying that runs the platform.

This is what's kind of interesting about this site to put it honestly I got into some good arguments for some people in my homeowners association and what they did is reported me. Pretty much these were members of the board of our association and put it on the seat to say that they were corrupted and competent is pretty much as nice as I could say about them. So what they did basically is they all reported me to next door and I was supposedly permanently banned. Now basically I've been on the site for probably I would say about close to 2 years. Next door has changed dramatically in that period of time since I was off and then when they suddenly reinstated me. You used to be able to actually find things such as a good plumber or something along that line things that were fairly useful. Now the site is full of just mindless endless ads. There's virtually no organization in this website that I can discern. Nothing posted is in order in other words you cannot go and read the newest post it pretty much just sets itself back and you end up reading all of the garbage that's been going on for God knows how long along with millions of countless ads. The other thing that is very annoying and that is people, who, I'm sure some would say people like me (which I'm fine with that) are the main problem on this site. My big complaint when I see this site are the incessant and amazingly stupid that people actually are exactly that, amazingly this stupid. This countless posts about fireworks that people are mistaken for gunshots. Gunshots that people think are fireworks. Lost dogs and cats. Sick lost dogs and cats that need your money as soon as possible because these people for whatever reason, do not have any, so they want you to pay for little fluffy and muffy. There is also a surprising amount of GoFundMe sites which are of very dubious quality and legality. One of the more recent ones concerns a woman who basically has been diagnosed with I think 25 different illnesses. Seriously? There's also a vet who basically is not posting it is being posted by the vet's relative. Who says that they are too poor to do anything about their lot in life but also have too much money that the veterans affairs will not do anything for the said veteran. This I know for a fact is bogus if you're a veteran the VA will help you. I've always said do not ever donate money to a GoFundMe site if you do not know the person yourself or at least the person is known to you through a friend of yours and that you can actually guarantee that that is a correct assessment. There's that old adage a fool in his money are soon parted. This seem to be an amazing amount of people who are gullible enough to most likely fall for that. Then is the one that I think is probably to me the most annoying of all. Those are those women out there who obviously have no life at all. So they will put out mindless claptrap such as it's snowing out tonight please be careful!. I think as adults we know if we're in an area where it snows we know how to be careful we don't need to have somebody trying to pretend there's some kind of like a godly person looking over you by giving you advice such as be careful. No of course I will post usually a rebuttal on some of these amazingly stupid people. Which is immediately met with a hail storm of rude and obnoxious posts. I actually say nothing about the person who initiates it I just say that we're all adults and I think we can think for ourselves we don't need to have somebody telling us what we need to do, we can do that on our own. The other thing I find so annoying about this site is the fact that it is just constant advertisements. I mean they're always some ads in the past but now it's just you can't scroll down without hitting I don't know how many ads which then immediately mess up what you're actually trying to find because you have to scroll through those ads then you have to back up to try and find it because they're all intermixed together with the posting that you may be responding to. I'm currently trying to figure out why all of a sudden I'm getting all of this stuff from next door where for about 3 years I didn't hear a thing from them which was blissful. I always like to refer to myself as a person of the last retort (yes, I said that correctly) so here I am being besieged amazingly probably about a dozen remarks from next door appear in my email. I'm currently near the end of a two-week Cruise. I'm amazed at how many responses from next door are in my inbox. And this is without me asking for anything. I figure I'm going to try to get some way to delete next door from my phone as well as my computer. I'll end this with a quote from an episode of The Twilight zone referred to as the monsters are due on Maple Street which to me represents an amazing amount of the people who are on next door possibly I'm one of them, and I'm sure some of you are among them as well: "Understand the procedure now? Shut off their lights, telephones,television sets.Throw them into darkness for a few hours and sit back and watch the pattern unfold. I take it this pattern is all the same? With a few minor verifications they pick the most dangerous enemy they can find and it's themselves. All we need to do is sit back and watch. So I take it this place this Maple Street is not unique? By no means their world is full of Maple streets. We shall go from one to the other and let them destroy themselves. One to the other, one to the other...

At Halloween, my hometown (5 miles from my current home in the country and the town I work in) advertised on Facebook that they had a 'Trick or Treat' map on Nextdoor. 'Great' I thought 'I want in on that!'. So, I went to join. Well, because my computer's address puts me in another town's zip code (by less than a quarter mile. The town itself is nearly 10 miles from me), I am automatically put as being 'next door' to those jackasses and not my friends, family, and places of familiarity since I was 18 months old.

Does Jackholeville have a 'trick or treat' map? No. No, they don't. Is it... constant 'oh, I lost my dog.' 'Oh, I found a different dog', 'I need money for this-and-that'? Yes. Is it all posts by strangers twice as far from my house as my hometown homies? Yes again. Can I say 'hey Nextdoor, my computer is technically in the Jackholeville zip code, but I grew up in Mytown. I go to Mytown for shopping. For food. For entertainment. To see my family and friends who still live there. Mytown is my city of choice. It's closer to me than the place you're assuming I live.' No. No,I can't because there's no option for 'your actually-closer-to-you-screw-the-zip-code town'.

So use it to get to know the good people of Jackholeville you say? Why would I want to? I don't GO THERE! I drive through it maybe 3 times a month because I'm headed to the big city and judging by the posts I got in the two weeks I was on Nextdoor, I don't want to know these asshats. I want MY asshats. The ones I grew up with. The ones I went to High School with. The ones who I work with, shop with, and celebrate with. It's not even an option to get information from a neighboring town.

And a postcard to verify you? Like. In the freakin snail-mail box? Why! That's just dumb. I have no desire to wait 3-7 business days to put in a code only to be denied being 'next door' to the town I AM CLOSER TO, LIVED AT FOR HALF A CENTURY, AND EXCLUSIVELY SHOP, WORK, AND PLAY IN!

As is the norm these days it seems, Next Door's developers did a poor job testing their website before release. Sadly, they offer no phone support, no chat support and their troubleshooting guides are minimal. My problem was caused by an incorrect email address in my profile (my bad). After correcting my email address using their edit profile feature and attempting to save my change, the website stated that it would first have to send me an email with a verification code that I must enter before my changes were accepted. See the problem here? The verification code is sent to the incorrect email address thereby preventing me from saving the corrected email address. It seems to me that changes to email addresses are not uncommon and that developers should have thought this process through which they apparently did not. Sadly 2FA authentication is the rage these days and Next Door has jumped on board when none of the data stored on their site isn't already publically available. What a nusiance and a waste of time 2FA is with Next Door IMO.

The website ineptness continues. I had not originally provided my mobile phone number to Next Door for my own privacy reasons (too dang many spam calls already and no company seems to be able to protect our sensitive data these days). Since Next Door provided both email and SMS authentication I gave in and entered my mobile number and checked the box requesting SMS authentication. I received a text and authenticated my phone number change. Aha,,, now I'll go back and change my email address and use SMS as my authentication mechanism and finally be able to change my incorrect email address. How silly I was. This time after changing my email address and clicking SAVE the website developers asked my to enter my password again (even though I had already logged in) after which the website sent me another VERIFICATION EMAIL requesting I enter their verification code before saving my email address change even after I had specifed SMS authentication. Needless to say, it appears impossible to change an email address on Next Door due the poorly thought out and improperly tested software developed by Next Door. Good ridance to a Bad website.

I've been with Nextdoor for a couple of years and lately its been a Karen and Ken show; I read post all the time and see the scammers on here left and right like I was down at the bus terminal with my "5" kids and I was going to take them to a movie, and so I put my purse down on the waiting bench and went to get a drink of water from a fountain and after getting my drink I turned around and see some lady taking my purse and walking away so I take a picture of her with my phone and now I have lost all of my rent and personal money and now my kids can't go to the movies, I need help financially, please help i'm desperate; Now if you read that you know that there are Red Flags everywhere in that statement-one you left your purse on the bench with all of your money, credit cards, personal items etc.(I don't think so) 2-left your purse but you took your phone with you when getting a drink (and not your purse lol) 3-took a picture of said women walking away with your purse but you don't confront her and take it back, and so on...After that I started reading all of the comments and all of these sympathizers "oh I feel bad for you" "dm me now I will give you some money" "I'll buy all your family movie tickets" etc. And so I comment stating Redflags in her story and all of a sudden I get like 20 likes, so others see right through her and then she starts getting defensive and says I never said I saw her with the purse, and so I go to her storyline and highlight what she said "I saw her with my purse walking away and I took a Picture of her" Oh and she put the pic on the site,smh; and now she's mad (by the way comes back) and after a few more back and forths she says I'll have you band because I've done it before and I'll do it again so I type back lol, you need help. And next thing you know I am banned fron Nextdoor lol, the administrators on Nextdoor cater and coddle the Karen's and Ken's on site smh and if you question their stupidity you get banned, and they don't even get your side of the story. I know that there are people that really need help, but If you go to Nextdoor and read read some of the storys you'll see a lot of scammers on there.

Nextdoor is CENSURED by left leaning radicals who will delete posts and disable ur acct if you speak against their policies. STAY AWAY!

The fact that people assume any black, brown or red person out walking, driving around the neighborhood, coming up to their door but not attempting anything, sitting in their cars etc., are suspicious, potential robbers, potential home intruders is quite telling about the fabric of American society and how much fear, racism, classism, malignant narcissism and toxic masculinity are out of control, despite all the narcissists/sociopaths/psychopaths repeated attempts at denying it and gaslighting people for it.

We have numerous delivery services like Postmates, DoorDash, UberEats, Shipt, Instacart etc., which all deliver well into the night. Many delivery drivers show up at the wrong door, knock on the wrong door, take pictures of their delivery as proof of delivery to send to the recipient, have to walk on foot to find the correct address etc., yet are immediately seen as suspicious, possible robbers, home intruders, casing the neighborhood etc., when they are black, brown, red. It speaks volumes about the rapid decline, delusions, poor critical thinking skills and mental deterioration of Americans.

What's more disturbing are the people who'll post videos and video stills of people that look suspicious without any proof the individual was doing anything malicious.

The amount of... "Suspicious guy driving through the neighborhood taking pictures/recording homes in the neighborhood with his phone"... Described as black male in a nice pickup truck, windows rolled all the way down, with an army veteran sticker on it. "Possible robbery because woman showed up at my door and looked through my window then walked away"... Described as Native American or Mexican American wearing flip flops and earrings. "Suspicious woman walking around casing everybody's home" Described as black women wearing a maxi dress and sandals. "Potential robber seen going from door to door and knocking on people's doors"... Described as Mexican woman wearing earrings and flip flops etc., followed by comments like... "They show up at my door, I'm gonna shoot and ask questions later or "that definitely looks like a gun in that person's hand", or "send that person's picture to the police immediately and notify all your neighbors".

All this, even if they weren't doing anything maliciousis. Talk about absolute tomfoolery to destroy somebody's life like that by putting their pictures up and assuming they're criminals!

Why not put that much energy into understanding, researching why America is a wealthy, developed country, yet is loitered with lack of and poor healthcare, unequal and expensive education, poverty and homelessness. Then lobby to have this remedied and I guarantee you'll see a major change!

Oh and let's not forget the hundreds of... did anybody hear gunshots? Which turns out to be fireworks.

Or... I'm tired of hearing leaf blowers while I'm trying to work. Can we have landscapers banned at certain times of the day because hey, I need to work and make a living but who cares if they need to work and make a living.

Or... my neighbors won't keep up their property like I do. Their house needs major work, they have stuff in their backyard that I don't like. How can I control them and make them do what I want them to do?

Well I have been suspended by Nextdoor 6 times now. Because if you a Christian or a conservative they automatically hate you. But the mean liberals who are on the left are allowed full free range plus hate speech on who ever they choose. They say that I can Pray for people & tell me that I can Pray for people but then when I actually do I am suspended. They also say that I can mention God but then later change their mind & go back on their words. It sounds like a setup and or Trap for me. Its either ND doesn't have a clear understanding of their own policies or they are just making them up as they go along to what ever fits their agenda! I would guess that it is the Latter & they truly are just tossing Crap at the wall to see what sticks!

They tell me that I can Pray for people and that I can say that I'm going to pray for them, But then they say that I can't. So according to ND own standards how was anything that I posted against Local & National Politics/Issues? So what you told me I was suspended for, doesn't even make sense according to your own policies? I was suspended for religion #3 not #1

One thing I noticed while scrolling through the complaints about Nextdoor. There seems to be a misinformation campaign going on, directed from Nextdoor HQ. Random people (who have recently joined and have little or no post history) are posting threads about "please pray for my family we are so sick with Covid" etc. Other posts contain things like "my husband/wife/son/daughter just died from Covid" etc. The original poster seldom, if ever replies to anyone responding to these posts. I've seen these posts in our area, and had a good feeling that it was all bull Crap at least three weeks ago, I also brought it up in the group. It's interesting that users are not allowed to post "misinformation" on Nextdoor, but Nextdoor can direct their own misinformation campaign.
