I hate net spend I was double charged for something and when I have tried to get my money back they argued with me and I wouldn't suggest them to my worset enemy. They charge to much to use there service
We're sorry to hear that. We can answer questions about the dispute claim you filed. For assistance, please email us at social@netspend.com.

They charge you for the card (4.95) they charge you for reloading the card (4.95) They charge you for every transaction (1.00) they charge you to pull money out the ATM (2.00) They charge you for purchasing anything online (1.00) so basically Everytime you use the card they take your Money also! This was never informed to me. If your already using their services why take additional money off every time I use the card? I would rather have a bank account, or a green dot card. They both would save you way more money! Netspend is a scam & I wouldn't recommend & their customer service representative are very unprofessional, and confusing. I just told them to Shut my card off Immediately, I'd rather spend $25 to open up a ligit bank account, it's so worth it. Now you can actually save your money with NETSPEND taking anything from you... Thanks State Employees Credit Union

My only way to pay my rent is by my social security disability payments. They locked my account for fraud protection and I did everything they asked with sending my ID and SS card and proof of address and then they say it wasn't enough. It's been two months now and I asked to have my account closed and a check sent to address on file and yet to receive it and every time I call they say it takes 15 days and the day it was processed is a day later every time... They say the same exact thing as if they read it from a script. I couldn't pay my rent and ended up on the streets...
We are very sorry to hear that. We'd like to look into this for you. Please email us at social@netspend.com.

Worst company to have a pre-paid account with. We bought a card and were told it wasn't going to be active until we called to activate the card. We were told the money put on the card was going to be accessible, regardless of time before we activated it. I called to activate the card and there was a 0 balance. I was charged inactivity fees and I couldn't get any of the fees disputed. The representatives kept saying that the terms and conditions stated the fees so they were valid. Instead of understanding we were given incorrect information, they refused to work with me at all. This company will lie to you and then take your money. I hope you are okay with having your money stolen and dealing with dishonesty if you keep a netspend account. I will never recommend this company and I wish there was a legal way to hold them accountable for lying.
We're sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your card purchase.
The fees for using the card and for maintaining the Card Account, including maintenance fees, are fully disclosed in the Cardholder Agreement that was included in the card packaging. The fee is automatically charged after 90 consecutive days of no activity.
We can look into this for you. Please email us at social@netspend.com.

Than i call and the lady tell me its because i authorized the charges... ummm what charges because from what i see there are no charges! Something fishy is going on and i i wasn't my $1,500 back!

This company takes advantage of consumers by enticing them with the promise of a bank account or gift for their loved ones and then makes it basically impossible to activate the card. They ask for detailed information about the cardholder and at the end of the process they claim they cannot verify the information. It begins when you select the option to activate the card online, but wait, something went wrong-please call this number. After calling the number, which also happens to be the number they direct you to to file a complaint, you wait on hold for 45 minutes. When you are finally connected to a representative, that person cannot speak or understand english. They also appear to have problems hearing. They ask for all of the same information, making you repeat it several times. At the end of this ordeal, you are told that they cannot verify your information and you must submit some document…. I could not understand what she was saying. I asked multiple times for her to clarify and then she hung up on me.
Netspend offers prepaid debit cards, not gift cards. Like other financial companies that offer debit cards, we are required by our bank, as well as MasterCard and Visa associations, to be compliant with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) laws. Both laws require that all financial institutions verify the identity of each account holder.
This means that we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and your government ID number during the activation process. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying information.
If you have questions about the activation process, or if you are still needing assistance, please email social@netspend.com.

This company is 100% fraud. NetSpend caters to web identity hackers with their customer support platform. There is no Customer Service. It's all auto generated email response telling you to call a bogus number that sends people on a round robin of tele-prompting for 10 minutes at a time just to get nowhere, with no-one and cut off as your reward for trying! This company needs to be SHUT DOWN BY THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!
