I've now ordered from Modcloth 3 times in the past month and each order has arrived quickly (4-5 business days). Just for reference though, I live in New York, so maybe the speed of shipping was very different for the people who complained. The dresses, shoes, and bag I got are exactly as I expected, and I'm really impressed with the quality for the price. Their stuff is adorable and you won't find anything like it anywhere else--believe me, I've looked. I'm going to keep ordering from them for sure.
I have had only positive experiences with ModCloth! Sure, I've ordered a few things that needed to be returned for quality or fit, but most of the items I have ordered are quite unique and well-made! Besides that, the service at ModCloth is exceptional! My items always come packaged so neatly, which really does make ya feel good when you receive something in the mail - and I have found that their personal clothing brand - Bea and Dot - to have really cute and high-quality items. It is a fun place to shop with a variety of styles and prices. My favorite purchase has been an Eva Franco dress that was 70% off!
I'd give this site 5/5 but along with other reviews here, I do have to say that buyer beware. Read the details & reviews of the products you want to get. This has helped me avoid the hassle of having to returning anything for the most part. I've only had to return an item once. Their return policy is easy & free. Their customer service has always been great. I get all my questions answered.
When it comes to their pricing, I feel that sometimes a certain product is overpriced. So I just avoid purchasing it all together.
Canadians beware!
Most products will cost you extra duties and shipping upon delivery Calculate 18% duties + 15% tax +10$ to be payed upon delivery if you choose regular shipping. This is on top of the american shipping you paid at checkout.
That being said, the products i received were very nice and came in good shape. I recommend this if you don't mind paying a lot of extra fees.
I have several pieces from ModCloth - I love the quality and style of all their designs and ordering and payment was sleek and smooth. Unfortunately, my Bank here in Malaysia has experienced a lot of Credit Card fraud with this Company and they have now blocked all transactions with ModCloth. I now need to get special authority each time I wish to make a purchase. This has certainly taken the fun out of online shopping for me. However, I will still follow this Company and their lovely selection of styles and dresses. The dresses are totally worth the hassle - it's just not as easy as it was before.
First, you pay for shipping to get the item. Then if you want to return the item, you pay to ship again. After it shows they have received it, it will take up to 14 business days to get your refund... or longer. I'm on week two of waiting (after they have received it) and still do not have my refund. Ordering online is risky but waiting this long for a refund makes it even riskier. I will never understand why it takes SO LONG. Just in case you didn't read the return policy before ordering something just be warned and make sure it's an item you want to keep. I hope I get my refund soon and will probably never order from them again. Very disappointing.
I have ordered a few items before from Modcloth and shipping status has never been great which is why I gave them two stars. I recently purchased two dresses on Feb 2 for a wedding on March 16, so I thought plenty of time. Modcloth's standard shipping is ground economy which means the shipping status is not going to be great, but after 18 days of not seeing the shipping status change and no notice from the company, I reached out to Modcloth customer service. Their response was "We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delay in shipping and any missed messages during checkout. Our warehouse is currently undergoing a move, which has resulted in temporary shipping delays. However, we have been advised that shipping will resume by approximately 02/29/2024." No where did their website indicate there was a possible shipping delay so the customer could decide to order or not (some folks may not have a deadline). I asked for expedited shipping and received this response "Due to our warehouse moving, we are currently not offering expedited shipping. We are also unable to make any changes to an order after it's been submitted." While shipping on 2/29 would still get the dress to me in 7-14 days (if the shipping estimate date is correct and nothing occurs with the carrier), that is too close to the date I need the dress and I would not have had a chance to try it in time to exchange. I requested a refund, and I am not sure I will use this site again when there are many clothing options out there
888 is always over 60 minutes, chat doesn't work, robot doesn't load so can't even write. Ordered a pair of shoes which still haven't arrived, and am unable to contact them to cancel. Horrible company. Buy somewhere else.
Hi, Natalie. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience or disappointing experience. I know that this past holiday season saw some long wait times with getting in touch with our team, as well as heavy shipping delays. Please know that these are not typical of ModCloth, and we are always working to prevent them in the future. I will certainly share your feedback with the appropriate teams, and if you have any other questions or concerns, our Customer Care team is always happy to assist, at modcloth.com/help.
I've ordered a few items from ModCloth over the past year and am very disappointed that they got rid of the free return shipping WITHOUT notifying members! They didn't send out an email or even let customers know about this "update" on their website. So now there are shoppers who are thinking they can return an item, but now can't unless they pay $5.99. I used to love this site, but now I won't shop here again. Shame, too, because there were quite a few other items I was going to order.
I ordered two dresses, a jacket, and a few necklaces after checking their return policy which stated free returns. It took almost two weeks to arrive.
Only one dress fit, but did not look good on me. The jacket and the other dress were strangely designed and did not fit. The most shocking were the necklaces, they were tiny and looked more like little girls' cheap jewelry. Given their size, materials, and design they were extremely overpriced. I am returning them all (except one necklace that was a final sale, $6. I will give it to my little daughter, but what a waste!). As it turns out, I do have to pay for shipping so this adventure cost my a total of $12. NEVER AGAIN!
At first glance modcloth.com looks like an amazing vintage-inspired online shopping haven. After placing several orders though, I'm realizing that 80% of their product is cheap crap you can find at the LA mart - made from cheap fabrics that will fall apart after the first wash. If I wanted to purchase clothing like this I would just go to Forever21. Their customer service is okay. Sometimes helpful sometimes not. I'm done being a modcloth shopper for now.
DO NOT SHOP HERE! I spent over $300 on Christmas gifts from them! The package was never delivered and the company refused to replace or reimburse me! Terrible company with disgusting business practices! SHAME ON YOU GUYS!
Hello, Katelyn. I am so sorry to hear your order was mis-delivered or stolen from your mail room. It is very unfortunately that these kinds of things seem to happen more frequently around the holidays. We are sorry about your first impression and experience with Customer Care and would like the opportunity to do better. A member of our team should be reaching out to you shortly to discuss how best to help. Thank you for your review.
Don't get sucked into this site! Cute clothes of incredibly poor quality, but the worst is the customer service. They say they will return things, but they make it a hassle, delay things, and then only give you store credit that they won't let you use without a million restrictions. Horrible. I have ordered twice and thought the first order was a fluke, but now I am embroiled in yet another battle with modcloth. Stay away!
This site is amazing. First off, the style clothing they sell is nearly impossible to find in stores you can walk in to. Second, (if you read reviews and actually look at what the product is made of in the description) you can find very nice quality clothes. Sure, they're priced very high, but it's not like you'll find those styles in stores for any cheaper. Thirdly, their customer service is wonderful! I've never had a bad experience with them (and I'm one of those ask a million times a million question shoppers). My only dislike is their processing times every other order take a while. But, that's ok with me. :)
My shopping experience with this company was totally negative! This company is a total waste of time.
Clothing sizes are inconsistent and I had to return all my dresses. They may look cute on the site but they just don't fit properly and the fabrics look cheap in real life.
Also, it is obvious ModCloth does not value their international customers and their return policies for those ordering from without the US are much harsher than US ones. No exchanges for international customer too, sorry.
No more business from me!
I used to love buying clothes from Modcloth - they would send a little packing list that would double as a return slip for anything you wanted to return, along with a prepaid stick-on label. In the last year or so, everything has changed. Now you pay for shipping both ways on a return, and the process feels purposefully designed to be convoluted to discourage returns (you're gonna have to dig through your emails to find an order number, try to resize a return label formatted for a label printer, print multiple pages that must be included...) The dress I bought was missing a button, so I'm out $15 in shipping costs for a dress I'll never wear. They've lost my business for good.
Hi, Nina. I'm sorry for any disappointment, as well as for any issues with the item you ordered. I will certainly share your feedback regarding the returns process, as there have been some changes since our site and system updates earlier in the year. Regarding your dress, we always ask that you please reach out to our Customer Care team if you receive an item with damage or defect, so that they can take care of the issue, right away. If you haven't yet spoken with them, please give them a call at 888-495-9699, or chat with them by clicking the "M" icon at the bottom-right of any page you're browsing on the site. You can reach them from 9am-8pm ET, Monday-Friday, and they'll be glad to assist.
One of the best online shopping sites for women's clothing. I have recommended Modcloth to many friends who have become regular shoppers. Everything always fits well (read other customer reviews of individual products to ensure best fit). Always ships quickly and in a super cute box (such a nice little touch!)
I used to love Modcloth; I have so many pieces from them that I wear on a daily basis. The quality has never been perfect, but nothing in this last order fit well. All of the dresses I ordered were too big or too small, weren't proportioned right, had bad stitches, had no lining in lightweight fabrics, or had no pockets. I had to go out of my way to get them to issue me my refund, even though they've had my returned items for 12 days! Between this, the website losing customer information and faves, and no longer being able to exchange items instead of returning them, I will NEVER shop here again.
Since the moment I heard that Walmart was buying Modcloth, I became extremely hesitant to buy anything from them. I gave in on Monday 9/4 when they were having a decent sale and had a pair of jeans that I really wanted. It has been nearly a week (it's 9/10) and they still haven't processed my order. Before they were Walmart, my items would have been shipped by now and nearly home. I contacted customer support yesterday and she did nothing to rectify the situation, nor could she give me an estimate as to when my order would be shipped- let alone processed! Apparently if you choose to do the free shipping that they offer, they can just slowly process the orders and send whenever they want. If I didn't want these pants so badly, I would just cancel my order at this point. Absolutely ridiculous.
Hi Sarah! Thanks so much for the feedback regarding our current shipping delays. I am so sorry for the inconvenience! Our shipping team has been a bit behind over the last week due to the holiday but they are working around the clock to ensure all orders ship out as soon as possible. The good news is that I took a look into our system and it does appear that your order shipped just a bit ago, so you should be receiving your shipping confirmation email within the next 24 hours. If you'd like your tracking information in the meantime, feel free to contact our Customer Care team: https://chat1c.livechatinc.com/licence/1049368/open_chat.cgi?lang=en&groups=2
This store is great. It has very unique items that you can’t find anywhere else. I have bought items from them several times over the last couple years. I have never had a problem with shipping. On occasion, I have returned an item without much difficulty.
Answer: The quality is about 80% rubbish (based on 10 purchases and only keeping 2 items). Hardly any of the dresses are lined and they're made with very cheap fabric, they're also way more expensive than they used to be but the quality hasn't improved. The stitching is usually uneven and the cloth cuts are terrible. You have to pay to return things, and from Australia it often costs more in postage to return something than the item itself, so I wouldn't bother.
Answer: Hi, Priscilla. We do not currently send out a physical catalog. I'm sorry for any disappointment!
Answer: Hey, Leslie! No need to worry- returns are pretty easy, especially if you're in the U.S., where we can provide a free return shipping label. At this moment, we are just a little behind on getting returns processed, due to heavy volumes during our recent sales, but we're working on getting caught up, ASAP! Our Customer Care team can also always help with any returns questions you have, as well as checking on returns statuses. You can reach them from 8am-11pm EST Monday-Friday, and 8am-9pm EST Saturdays, at modcloth.com/help!
Answer: Yes, there are full cash refunds and online store credit for the returns. It is annoying, but you would go into the purchase history and there is a section to return whatever items you want. Then when you have completed that section there should be a return Label paper that you print out from your email. It is a fedex paper. The returns should be free.
Answer: Used to be great. Horrible now. Never true to size. Cheaply made from China.
Answer: Be sure to refer to the sizing chart for your size. Also keep in mind that some items are in European or Asian sizes. Be sure to read the full desription of the item to know if you need to size up or down.
Hi, Wendi. I'm very sorry for any frustration regarding our return fee and processing time frame. We did have to implement a fee due to increased internal costs. When it comes to processing, we do estimate up to 14 business days, but the time does depend mostly on how many packages our team has to get through. I understand your disappointment, as I know the wait can be a little long. Please rest assured I'll share your feedback about this with the appropriate teams. If you ever need assistance with a return or return status, our Customer Care team is happy to help. You can reach them from 9am-8pm ET, Mon-Fri, here: https://modcloth.com/pages/contact-us.
