Liveauctioneers.com - online auction platform- advertised and promoted non existing auction house SMGR Concept and set up two consecutive auctions 'SMGR Concept in partnership with LiveAuctioneers' on Dec 02 and Dec 03 2023, offering non existing goods solely on their platform, simultaneously providing and publishing fake address and non working contact details of the above mentioned.
Yes, they've advertised it with the following alluring description: 'SMGR Concept, luxury tastes since 2013.
Specializing in the purchase of second-hand luxury items, the company has until now sold only to professionals or through ephemeral shops and events.
Today, in partnership with LiveAuctioneers, these carefully appraised items are within auction range of each of you'. Guaranteed delivery before Dec 15. Not to mention their usual 'SHOP WITH CONFIDENCE
Since 2002, LiveAuctioneers has made exceptional items available for safe purchase in secure online auctions'.
I participated in both auctions run by SMGR concept 'in partnership with Liveauctioneers', won several lots. Next day 2 emails from Liveauctioneers followed with invoices, payment instructions and bank details for respective bank transfers (bank transfer was the only form of payment offered). I proceeded with payments. Got respective confirmations in writing from Liveauctioneers website stating the Auction house did receive both my payments. The last email on behalf of this non existing auction house was on Dec 13, afterwards - silence. Lots were not shipped. Email address does not exist. Phone number (from onoff app) blocked. I lost over 10 000 usd. My bank can't recall it, dispute or start a chargeback as it was not a card payment, but a bank transfer from my account to bank account of auction house, provided in Liveauctioneers email.
Liveauctioners are not going to help to recover my money. They refuse to give me any info on the above mentioned auction house for me to be able to file a complaint in court. All they did was temporary blocking this auction house's profile on their site not to start one more auction now. And me loosing 10k USD is totally ok with them. No info, no investigation, no compensation, nothing. Well, I see there is at least one more non existing French auction house in their auction houses directory, so no vetting or due diligence process exists (at least for whose who are there to collect buyers money for non existing goods 'in partnership with Liveauctioneers')
BBB accredited business. A rating.
Happy to provide any additional details

Fraudsters
Scam
Beware
Did not receive neither the prepaid products, nor my money back
While I have not lost any amount of money, I have spent considerable time making LiveAuctioneers aware of a fraudulent lot being repeatedly being represented for sale by four (4) affiliated California Auction houses.
Let's cut to the chase: LiveAuctioneers will not come to your defense (whether you be a consumer or a business), so you must check out an auction house to ensure its integrity…LiveAuctioneers is just acting as a platform/facilitator. While LiveAuctioneers does have a wonderful platform, they are NOT engaged in tracking/monitoring/following up on auction houses that list on their site and utilize nefarious practices.
The Background: I purchased a one-of-a-kind, very expensive Cartier pendant directly from a Pennsylvania jeweler in January 2023 (not on the LiveAuctioneers' platform). This pendant has a serial number. Cartier does not duplicate its serial numbers. To my dismay, I discovered that a group of four affiliated California auction houses were attempting to sell this piece, using the same pictures that my Pennsylvania jeweler had on his web site (literally, they are the same pictures and in the exact order as my jeweler's site). I alerted LiveAuctioneers' customer support and initially, they were responsive over a series of weeks. I even had a representative's name. The rep made me prove ownership of the piece in question, which I was more than able to do. She acknowledged my ownership. She told me that she would work with their Bidder Support team to determine the next steps. In the end, they found that there were multiples of this piece on the internet, but failed to understand that the existing pictures on the internet were of the same piece, placed by the Pennsylvania jeweler, and had not been removed (I did explain this to them). The fatal flaw is the serial number. Even if there were multiples of this piece, they could not have the same serial number…. That is a fact….After I kept pushing for a response for next steps, no email was returned from any rep of LiveAuctioneers. This says a lot about this organization and their management team – I don't fault the rep as she is taking direction from management. I even wrote a letter of concern to the president and its chief customer service vice president, explaining in detail, initially faxing it, and then sending it, return – receipt to their corporate headquarters in NYC. Both were received. I never got a reply to my cell phone or to my email. That is so disappointing. Again, this speaks volumes about the professionalism of this organization.
Bottom Line: You are at the mercy of the auction houses. BE CAREFUL. I have reached out to these California auction houses through the weeks to ask them not to list an item to which they or their consignor could not possibly have. They have now "sold" my piece (with the same pictures) twice now…How is that possible? And for an amount that is significantly above retail ( and then add the buyer's premium). Again, another flag. For clients/customers who are usually savvy, how is it that this piece is breaking records? Lots of concern with these four California Auction houses.
LiveAuctioneers would rather make money off each lot sold and is less concerned about the validity of the houses using their platform….Integrity is paramount in the auction world…if you lose that, you lose everything.
This was my reaching out to alert LiveAuctioneers about potential fraud coming from four affiliated California auction houses. They did absolutely nothing that I am aware.
