My name is Brian. I have been a member of LatinamericanCupid for many years. I have also referred a lot of family and friends to this organization. However, within the last few years I have noticed there has been an influx of women joining this site trying to extort money from American men. There are a lot of women on this site that post fakes profiles and pictures. After being a member for many years, I have become very experienced at knowing the signs to look for and the questions to ask these women. I know recently experienced this situation from several women. One in particular, her name is Marcela. We started out communicated by corresponding several times by email. We then decided to exchange contact information. I noticed throughout our conversations she would mention how bad her situation was and how she was struggling financially due to the coronavirus. She then mentioned that she was behind on her rent and it needed to be paid by June 28th. She eventually got around to asking me to send her $400 to help pay her rent, which I did not do. I asked Marcela several times to facetime me on whatsapp so I could see her in personal just to make sure she really does exist. She would continue to give me every excuse imaginable. She kept telling me that her phone couldn't get a good internet reception so we could not facetime on whatsapp. However, she was always able to send me pictures and videos. I knew then she was fake. If you can send videos and pictures you can facetime on whatsapp. She told me if she had an upgraded phone we would be able to facetime on whatsapp. She asked me to buy her a phone that cost $600. I told her no way. Then she asked me to buy her a phone that was $400, and once again I told her no. Just a piece of advice to everyone, never send these women money unless you have actually been to there country, met them in person and spent time with them and established that you are in a relationship. Since I knew this lady was a scammer and trying to solicit money I reported her to LatinamericanCupid administration. I sent them the text message conversation showing that Marcela asked me for $400 to pay the rent and $600/$400 to buy her a phone. WOULD YOU BELIEVE THESE DUMB ASSES SENT ME AN EMAIL SAYING THAT I DIDN'T SEND THEM ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT REMOVING THIS LADY FROM THERE SITE. I SENT THEM THE ACTUAL TEXT MESSAGE SHOWING THE AMOUNTS SHE ASKED FOR. I was in disbelief when I received that email. This said, this let's me know that this organization promotes and supports these women that are posting fake profiles and pictures, in addition to these women trying to solicit and extort money from American men. I deleted my profile immediately. I tell continue to tell everyone not to join this site or any other site that are affiliated with LatinamericanCupid. My brother and several other friends have already deleted there profiles as well. If you're thinking about joining this site, save your money and don't waste your time. Brian B

You lot need to learn something. In Colombia 77% of people are poor, uneducated have no manners. We call white people like that in the USA, trailer trash. The women on these site are the Colombian version of trailer trash. The educated middle class and small elite class, hate foreigners, they don't applaud you or chase you or are remotely interested in you, they have more money than you, have mansions, Mercedes etc than can get citizenship to the USA based on education and investment, they don't need you, lol, they know why your here, these classes are happy to strike business deals and conduct professional business but that's it. They know that gringos only come here for sex and drugs, when you have a plane with 300 seats and of those are 280 single men between 30-80 it isn't rocket science. Rarely do you see couples or families. When you walk around alone as a man incolombia, you can feel the heat from there eyes on you of disgust and fake smiles, hello sir but but actually thinking you dirty man. The sexual health clinics are full with foreigners with itches and infections lol. The educated Colombians laugh inside there heads when they age a 40 year old walking around with a 20 year old proudly hand in hand. I felt this this stupidity in my head and that everyone was laughing at me.
Learn this there is no sex education in Colombia, young girls are dangerous they know nothing, young prostitutes all have sex and oral without protection, years pass they eventually contract HIV Aids. Girls are seeing 6-15 men a day with no protection. Over a few years it equates to thousands of men. You then come thinking she young, yummy and put your manhood in there lol.
Know this, a full sti and hiv test costs $100 usd, the national monthly wage is $200 usd?
No one gets tested. When the young girl finds out they have HIV, they either seek revenge by having unprotected sex to infect as many men as possible or financially rape tourists on these sites. I had sex with one of these girls and caught 4 stds? Herpes has no cure and gonorrhoea is so strong in Latin America it has almost become resistant the doctor told me. As another rightfully said, you are communicating with the lowest social class of women. My freind got married to one, he was middle class, went out to a upper class function and immediately the Latinos identified his wife as trailer trash by her accent and mannerism, ignoring here out of the conversation, they knew her class. You can't make s whore a housewife. You can buy her all the expensive clothes but you ant change the way her trailer trash brain works. She left him after 5 years and is now with a Latino trailer trash her own age. Only trailer trash is on these sites, everything in this country is based around sex, music, tv, tourism, clothes, advertising, kids are sexually active in there very early teens and pushing prams at 13,14, kids with kids, chances are the kids mother is younger than you? Lol. This site is trash. If you want a good wife with morals, brains and loves and treats you like a god and almost 90% of the time will stick with you, there is no greater women and than those of Japan, Philippines and India, they are schooled from childhood to be good wife's and family bonds are tight and getting one is s mission in itself. But the difference is although you would class I did as third world, the majority of people speak English, give education priority even if it means not eating, they have ambition and dreams and love, watch a few Bollywood films and you understand that almost 90% of music and films are based around love. Looks wise the northern Indians women are gorgeous in comparison To the southern dark women. Like Latin America you have people of all colors, white, tanned, brown in India the northern fair complexion are called indo-Ayan, then you have Anglo Indians (mixed British/Portuguese and the southerns called dravidad who are brown. Japan, mostly educated women with lots of love, only drawback few speak English. Philippines, beautiful loving women, a good proportion speak English in Manila. My wife is Indian and goddess, met her while working in Calcutta. A Latin woman can offer you $#*! expect you to pay for everything, while she does her nails and hair watches tv all day on the phone, her $#*! will be displayed to everyone to chase, in the gym shopping mall, you will forever be paranoid about her getting approached by millions of men and eventually she'll get a better option, s man with more money, good looking and maybe a bigger $#*! then move on again.

I leave fake accounts, prostitutes or webcams, you must be very naive or blind to not quickly spot those profiles.

I want to tell you about my web date that put me in extremely bad mood for a week and made me believe in God again. This is some sort of case study into how those scams work.

So here it goes, I am sending emails (after buying subscription), one day extremely attractive girl replies with the number. Same day we did whatsapp video call, she wanted me to confirm that she talks actually with me.

We talked 2 weeks, almost everyday on video call. Video calls for 30,40, even 1h. Talked about daily things she does, that she lives with sister, even showed me sister on some occasions, sent me pictures etc. You feel like you won on a lottery. Girl 10/10 looking for something serious amazing. On few occasions wanted me to confirm whether I treat her seriously and not to talk with others etc. Looked very legit.

One day tragedy, she says her nephew broke her mobile phone and she DEMANDED to buy her new one.

She didn't even asked me for it politely but demanded it in very harsh way. She doesn't have money if she had she would asked me. Started to threat me that will start to date with others. Well that was first red signal.

I couldn't figure out the way to send money and finally went to the WU branch to send it, I was about to send but don't see her passport details on whatsapp (she removed) and I asked the clerk whether it is possible to send money, she replied that no because machine is not working. That day dear God saved me £80 (yes I'm pichirre and picked the cheapest phone). BTW I have got used phone but she deserves better one. For some reason she didn't want to send picture of her passport. Later, she screamed that Im a liar that I treat her badly etc completely forgetting the fact that she removed her details and didn't send them back.

The whole thing was very strange, something you don't come across with girls from western countries. It was obviously very sad for me till the moment when I spoke with another girl who after few minutes of talk also demanded new phone for her birthday.

I am on this website with breaks for 5 years and I can tell you, don't pay for subscription if you don't know Spanish well. Maybe there is 10% of total population of girls who speak English, mainly from Brazil.

There are good girls who want to find love but you need a large statistical sample to get some results.

With all the scam that is rolling there I really don't believe that owners of the page don't share profit with those scam girls.

I hope this is useful to some of you guys and you will refrain from buying subscription on this website. Must tell you if you are from US or Canada you will have hard time on the site.

I guess I could consider myself a veteran of both sites as I have been on them for about 5 years off and on, I can honestly say that in that time I have only met three latin women that were not scammers, funny as it seems they were normal average looking women, no breast augmentation, lipo or buttox enhancements.

A few tips to spot the real scammers:
Age range from 25 to 39 if she is a real Knockout beauty you can bet that all of her fotos will show her in lavish settings wearing really expensive clothes and showing a life of wealth, thats because she is getting money from probably 15 guys on the site, these women are street smart, ASTUTE and know how to play the long and short Con games. The problem is that they think because they are ASTUTE they think they are intelligent as well but thats where you can see thier flaws. If she has a beautiful face and body and shows pictures of her in luxurious settings then why on earth would she ask for AYUDA (Help) this type of logic should be applied especially when you are interested in a beautiful Latin girl.
Then there are the obvious Poor Girls that are not well educated but seem to think that Americans or Caucasions or foreigners (Not Hispanics) are stupid mindless innocent oafs that believe everything they say and because we are not wise to thier culture then they can take advantage of anyone who gives Papaya ( no dar papaya it's a colombian phrase look it up!)
The worst women on these sites are Colombians, Medellin paisas are professional scammers, the Latin culture is totally corrupt in every sense of the word so imagine growing up in a culture where one is constantly probed for vulnerabilities and once found they turn on the charm and go in for the jugular vein.
Following the Colombians in deception and criminal behavior are the Dominicans, they are just as bad but easier to spot because they are more direct in their approach to see if you are gullable enough to send them money.
Just be careful, look for obvious signs, if a girl tells you she doesn't have a cell phone it's a lie, if she looks well off and asks for help (Ayuda) then run away, stop wasting your time on her and move on, if she tells you she can't pay a bill or pay her tuition or her mom and dad are divorced, or not living then move on, if she mentions anything to do with money or the lack thereof she is either probing you or implying that she is in need and you could out of the goodness of your heart help her, DON'T FALL FOR IT. The really sneaky Latin women will hint, imply about economic problems because they don't want to come right out and expose themselves as scammers. Remeber they survived all this time before they met you ASK yourself why and surely you will see the truth.

Also I think the Owner of these Cupid media sites should make every woman show some sort of ID passport or Cedula ( Identification Credential) in order to join the site this will eliminate the scammers chance of posting fake pictures stolen off the internet, if Cupid Media really wants to protect it's customers then they should hold the women to the same strict standards as they do the paying male customers. They don't have to charge the women any money, just make them submit a valid legal Picture ID and one real photo so they can't change it on the site, the Admins can verify the ID and the real photo can be uploaded to the girls profile and locked down so the woman can't delete it. This would be real FRAUD prevention and protection against scammers.

I have been on and off of Latinamericancupid for well over 5 years. The site used to be a lot better, but now it seems to be going downhill. I hate when they changed to auto re-bill, so if you sign up, right after signing in go to the billing page and check no for autobill. Keep checking it as sometimes it poof turns back to a yes, as they will try to rip you off.

I have met lots of latinas over the years and had lots of dates and a couple girlfriends. But there are tons of fake profiles and plenty of scammers on the site. They don't bother policing their site. I have reported many many fakes and usually they will take them off the site only to reappear a couple days later under a new name. They should pay me for policing their site. At $30 bucks a month IMO is too much. I have suggested the charge at least $5 to all the women and they would weed out a lot of the fakes. The men basically pay for the site. Yes the site is difficult to deal with and one time it cost me money to call Australia to dispute charges. IMO the USA should ban these types of sites as they don't use a office in the USA.

There are lots more scammers, fake profiles, webcam models looking for guys, and prostitutes on the site. There are legitimate people on there but you have to be aware there are scammers lurking behind every profile. The site does a good job of educating... like NEVER SEND MONEY TO SOMEONE YOU MEET ON THE INTERNET. I can't stress that enough. I have been hit up for money, gifts, buy them cell phones or computers etc... so much so lately I am finally leaving the site. I even state in my profile yo no tengo un banco. Basically I do not have a bank. But that doesn't stop the greedy latinas from trying. It's quite the turn off. They ask after chatting for a little while and I say NO and adiossss. Any woman asking you for money or gifts so quickly before meeting in person is definitely a woman you want to avoid. She is after only one thing... a man to pay her way through life, then pay for her kids education, then the parent that is always sick or needs a operation, then she gets robbed and doesn't have a cellphone to contact you anymore, so asks you to buy her a $500 phone. Also lots of latinas hide behind whatsapp and won't webcam with you as in skype. Usually they are hiding for a reason, the pictures they are using are fake or some hot chick they stole off the internet. Some are just fat woman and they use fake pics if other women.

Yes latinas are notorious liars and cheats. Not all but more than you would believe. Unfortunately the latin society is a society that loves to use people. I find it sad, but it's life, especially the uneducated or less well off families. They think all Americans are rich. They don't understand that we pay for things here in dollars so although we get paid higher salaries, the cost of life in the USA is expensive.

Back to the site. Overpriced, way too many fakes, bad customer service if you have a dispute, no 800 number to call, auto bill, and a few other nuisances. Lets just say I am tired of reporting fake profiles and dealing with cheats. It's the internet, so people will cheat, lie, steal every chance they get and can get away with it.

If your new to the site, just be on your toes and don't ever believe all you hear. NEVER EVER SEND MONEY. They will milk you and then dump you. NO it's never happened to me, as I know their tricks and have heard the same sob story from every latin country. I have been flying all over Latin America for over 30 years.

Not all are bad but more so now than their used to be. It's the bad economies that are making people desperate and the unfortunate materialistic world we live in.

After checking out various dating sites and reading other reviews and complaints, I decided to take a leap of faith and sign up for a 3 month tour of duty with this site.
Posting a profile is free; but of course, you won't be able to communicate with anyone unless one or the other is a paid subscriber.
The one thing that really impressed me was that most of the profiles seemed really real compared to other sites. There was a variety of ladies' profiles from drop dead gorgeous to... well you can imagine.
They all vary from person to person, and do not have a cookie cutter or cloned appearance.
But the site administrators do make every effort to advise that while they strive to maintain legitimacy and honesty, they cannot guarantee every profile is as it appears.So, they admonish users to be careful and use common sense.
And to show that they are serious, the moderators are constantly reminding site users to report suspicious or inappropriate activity.
As a matter of fact, I reported a few users I thought were abusing the site, and POOF; they were gone in a matter of hours.
The site also has an internal messaging system with built in translator which is handy.
But I will tell you, if your lady doesn't speak English, warn her ahead of time that you will be using a translator. That way if there is a misunderstanding, the message can be worded differently to get a point across.
I have read where some guys think the messages are made up in some back room.
Maybe on some sites, but I don't think they are on this site, as the ladies are quick to give real email addresses and send photos of themselves etc.etc.And they usually are legitimate.
As for getting results, I was pleasantly surprised. I am a 59 year old widower of just average looks, who is tall, with light colored eyes, and not over weight for my height.
I didn't even post a photo; but I suppose because I wrote such a nice and heartfelt profile, I had dozens of women expressing interest and wanting to contact me for a picture.
Were they drop dead gorgeous? Some were close, some were pleasantly average, and some of them... well you can imagine.
The point is, I got real results from real women from all over Latin America.
I have not tried to reach out to ALL of them, but I have gotten positive returns from about half a dozen or so; and some of them were 20-25 years younger than myself.
Yes, a lot are single moms with kids. But be realistic. Younger women will tend to have children at home no matter what country. And if the old man was still around, they wouldn't be on the site and you wouldn't have chance with them.
So make up your mind, if you want a younger woman, be prepared to take on the extra responsibility.
Bottom line- be true to yourself in what you are looking for, be realistic in your expectations, and above all, be honest and truthful with any lady you are interested in.
If nothing else, I have some new friends, learned a lot about different cultures, and came away feeling like even at my age, some one still thinks I have something to offer.
