Item was exactly as expected. It was shipped quickly and arrived very securely packaged both on the outside and inside. The item itself, a viola stand, was simple enough to put together and came with all required parts. Definitely would consider this site again for any stringed instrument needs.

Consistently Great

Always receive what I order very quickly and in perfect condition. Website is easy to shop and reasonably priced. I live out of state but still order from the store I used when I was growing up! Now I'm shopping for my own kids!

I have been ordering from Johnson Strings for years. Every order has arrived perfectly and often in half the time I expected.
They have a vast selection of strings and everything any musician might need- at excellent prices. My most recent, BAM
Case hoodie arrived in just a few days. Strings ordered recently came in two days- using regular delivery! Lifesaver!

Great Local Resource

It is so nice to have some place local that provides all the services and products that Johnson Strings does. Whenever I have had a problem with a rental the staff are very responsive and help get my kids what they need to keep playing their instruments.

Quick but no Quality
December 30, 2019

We received the electric violin we ordered for my daughter in time for Christmas - yay! But it did not work - boo! It was incredibly disappointing. We called customer service and the rep told us to replace the battery with a new one, which we went to the store to purchase - 5 in a pack and only needed one. That did not work and now we have to send it back and she went back to NY without her long-awaited electric violin with which she would gig with to make money. Frustrating!

Side note, you might want to get my name right!

The reasons that I choose Johnson's whenever I need any string accessories, music, or repairs, are many... a professional, knowledgeable, warm, and caring staff who know how to best serve any musician that comes through their doors- be they freelance professional players or four year old beginners in their first year of instruction. I would also mention a first rate selection of materials and instruments and quality repair service. Finally, I have been a customer of Johnson Strings since they first opened their doors!

With discounts, Johnson String beat Amazon's prices, and my shipment arrived very promptly and well packaged. Since they are specialists in string instruments, they have a wide range of products that I presume are well liked by musicians. I look forward to buying from them again!

I don't like this.

I don't appreciate receiving automatic emails that address me incorrectly.

The body of the message said:
"johnsonstring.com [sic] has partnered with Shopper Approved in order
To gather feedback and ratings."

I suppose that means that "johnsonstring.com" pays money to "Shopper Approved" so that they will send out such messages.

I suggest that "johnsonstring.com" save the money they pay to "Shopper Approved" and use it towards lowering their prices or shipping charges instead. That would be something customers could appreciate.

Great Cello tailpiece!

Love this tailpiece! It made an immediate difference in the sound of my Cello. So much more resonant now than before. I took it to the local shop to install and it was ready within half an hour. Would definitely recommend.

Online catalog easy to navigate, moist items are usually in stock, and orders have been fulfilled immediately. Takes me a day or two to receive my strings, which, improbably for a warehouse item, seemed to me and others who know, to be "fresh" and even-surfaced. An indispensable resource.

The only thing was an order I made on a out of stock item was not indicated as ordered on the packing slip/invoice. I called the company and was assured it was ordered, would take a while since coming from Russia. But it would have been more reassuring if some kind of info would have been included with the rest of my order to this effect. Otherwise, I really didn't know if it had been ordered or not. The person who took my call was very polite and helpful in clearing up my question. Thank you.

My online purchase experience has been excellent. However, my experience with the Carriage House store has been more mixed. I was thinking about buying quite an expensive instrument. I found the sales associate I interacted with to act as though I were doing him a favor by purchasing with them. He was slow to write back, brief in what he wrote, and not very friendly. I ended up purchasing the instrument from someone else, who was much more welcoming and really appreciated the purchase.

Navigating through the website was straightforward. I could easily find the products that I wanted. I received my orders in less than a week and I even got a tool to go along with my chin rest, which has never happened to me before. Very glad I ordered from here.

I recently bought an instrument as well as other merchandise and was SO impressed by how efficient and professional the staff were. They were knowledgeable and very friendly too. I had such a great experience. They bent over backwards to make sure I was happy with the sound of my instrument and and even took it back for an additional adjustment and did not charge me extra shipping. I'm so grateful!
