I’ve been in business over 15 years and used several different website templates by 4 different companies. The year before I switched to Into the darkroom my business was down. I looked at many different templates before I decided to go with Into the darkroom. I had reservation because the prices they charged seemed too low for a quality product. With the low price I wasn’t expecting great customer service, I figured that would be the trade-off. The template was easy to install and customize. My business increased and I was able to increase my prices. But the biggest surprise was the great customer service I received. I don’t often write reviews but I’m so over the top thrilled by their customer service that I decided I must write this review to say thank you to Into the Darkroom. At this point I can’t imagine using any other company, they’ve been so helpful.

Obnoxiously expensive. Terrible customer service... and IMPOSSIBLE to work with. Honestly, I can not STAND this program. I'd rather not have a website than use intothedarkroom.

I absolutely love Into the Darkroom. Can't say enough good things about them. Excellent designs, easy installation, and awesome customer service. I've had support tickets answered on weekends and holidays. Will be a customer for life.

Dont work with this company. Even if the software ro build is not bad (maybe too simple payouts)
Its almost impossible to put ypur site online if you are not an expert.
The customer service is a joke
They sometimes answer after 2 or 3 days, sometimes they just dont answer.
They dont understand the custpmer support in this kind of bussiness is essential
I spend a week building my site and im waiting so the c. Support help me to put it online.
There is a lot of companies more serious to work with
Absolutely frustrating experience

This company has the worst customer service ever. Stay away from this company unless you are ok being frustrated. I signed up with them and the first product that I downloaded was the vend photocart. Because they have no customer service number. I basically tried to go on YouTube look at videos and figure out how to set things up on my own. When I started having difficulty setting up customer payments. I contacted them through support. They were HORRIBLE with response time. This issue went on for 3 days. During those 3 days I could not access my photocart. They finally messaged me back, told me to go back into my account and try it again. I logged back in only to find out that I lost all of my information -images etc... I have been trying to get them to help me understand what's going on and to help me get all of my information back. I am a boudoir photographer and I am very careful with my customer images. I am so worried about the lost images. So far I still haven't gotten any response from the company.

Took out the free 3 day trial, ended up that was a bad wknd for me to try and have a look at it (was very busy). Tried to cancel it, didn't know how. Emailed them, waited days on the emailing me back. They took the first payment £19. From my account on day as soon as the trial had ended. Contacted them regarding a refund. Customer service a nightmare. You think you are speaking to one person, you email them back and a different person returns your email, asking what the issue is and why you are emailing them. Worst experience ever with any online company. This went on for 3 months, and I was still trying to actually sign up with them during this time. No one takes control of your query and sees it through to the end. It's like they are playing office ping pong with your emails. It's so bad, it's almost funny. I again would like to say something nice about this company, but honestly, stay clear.

I've been using Intothedarkroom.com for years now and for multiple websites. Their customer service has been great and at times in off/later hours their head developer has been kind enough to answer questions and resolve issues.

I'll continue to use their services for years to come.

Customer Service is really bad and very frustrating. Also - beware of building your site in the temporary mode. I thought everything was offline - but all my temp pages came up in the google search engine and intothedarkroom said there was nothing they could do about it. It's inexpensive, but you will pay for it with slow and unhelpful support.

Customer service sucks and the installation process is a joke. I liked the idea and the look of the blog/portfolio sites but never got pass the installation process. Customer service was a joke too they give you a link and ask if this resolves the problem. I wasted a whole week with my site down and lost customers because of it.

I've been using a blogsite of theirs "Turmeric" and their "Flaunt" slideshow software for a while now. I've never had a problem with either. Compared to other options out there that I won't mention, ITDR has been a pleasure to work with. I love that delivery of their product is instant and they are constantly updating things. I honestly have almost never had a reason to need support so I can't speak for how quick and efficient the support system is but the fact that in the few years I've been with them I don't remember needing support is probably a big thumbs up for them!

Not sure if it's just an issue of change over time, but my support tickets have always been answered promptly and customer service has been great. Can't complain!

They have extremely poor customer service and are slow to respond with customer issues. They do not read the tickets and you have to repeat and begin from zero each time they are addressing your ticket. They are not concerned about how much of your time is wasted but more concerned about the numbers, trying to sell more versus addressing pre-existing issues. For a photographer that has spent time perfecting their skill, it is very important to have a good platform to display the images as is without distortion. The product has significant quarks with image rendering and load times - these are both unacceptable for a pro photographer. IT is however their service that stinks reminiscent of bludomain sites.

Poor customer service!
February 7, 2011

Poor customer service! I have to repeat my questions many times for them to answer them. Always giving me the run around with excuses. My site goes down and they stall on getting it back up. Definitely look else where if you plan on getting a website or template.

Buyer beware, horrible customer service, instructions that almost work but not quite there. If you like to pull your hair out, be my guest and buy their templates. I regretted it. Really wanted to like this company and say something positive but am struggling to do so.

Great slideshow presentation for photography clients - For $200 these guys have a clever application that can let you show your clients their photos and they can select the ones they want to buy. They have a better version which they call photoproof but that costs $850. These products are add ons to your existing website and they are not meant to help make a photographers website but rather to give a photographer the tools to share their work with clients. The slideshow is definitely worth the $200 as it will WoW your clients.
