This is a horrible company. I signed up for their subscription service. The first box came late and one of the helicopters are broken. This month I just got another broken helicopter in my subscription box. I cannot believe I was fooled by good reviews. Everyone I have seen says they are nothing but trash. I am done. This is a horrible company and they are fleecing people by sending them nothing but trash. I signed up for a 6 month program and that was a huge mistake. I want out of the subscription service and I want my money back. I wasted $179.00 on nothing but broken junk.
The worst place to order from. Paid extra to get my son's Christmas present delivered and the jerks didn't even bother to put the order in until the 31. Costumer service reps more than rude unwilling to help.Don't order from them they are crooks.

I hope this message will get through to at least one person, as I feel that the message I have needs to be heard. This may be unprofessional of me to rant on the internet about this topic, but I feel like this is called for. Personally, I'm only 15 years old, defending my little brother and his broken heart. First off, they sent me the wrong product, and it was horrible quality! On top of all that, they offered almost NO customer support for us at all! Their policies are BS, and they definitely need to change. If you don"t believe me, look at most of the other reviews, you will find many more complaints about this website! Way to ruin a nine years old's dream, HobbyTron. Away from this website, please! If I took away anything from this website and the order we placed, I would say the HobbyTron is a business full of greedy people that don't care at all about their customers.
I ordered a remote control car for a birthday ($323). When it came in the box it was in was not damaged at all. However, when we opened it we saw that the entire car was broken. The on/off switch was missing! They have a policy that says that they keep 20% for refunds for service charges... that's $65! Anyway, we called and called and finally they picked up, only to tell us they could only talk to us when we got an RMA#. We applied for one, and it says that it takes 1-2 business days, 10 days later it still didn't come. They agree to send us a full refund but only after the RMA came in, which it didn't. I finally got through to the manager, very angry, I let a curse word slip, and she told me they do not tolerate cussing from customers and hung up. There's $323 down the drain.
I ordered 3 Striker 2.4GHz 4.5CH Camera RC Spy Drones as Christmas gifts. I opened one to inspect it. The connections to charge the battery were so flimsy, they would not hold up in use. I decided to return them. Hobbytron charges a 20% restocking fee for unopened packages and NOTHING for the one I opened although it is boxed perfectly. They do not back up their product. I am out a lot of money. Never buy from Hobbytron.com You can't afford the risk.
I finally decided to return the 2 drones that were unopened. The P. O. would not take them because of the batteries in them. So I went to UPS ground. That would have cost $40.00 for shipping. Considering my refund would have been $100.00 - %20 restocking fee for the 2 drones, I kept the entire pkg. In the meantime, I had disputed the charge with Wells Fargo Credit. They continued to work and got the charge completely removed from my credit card. I called them and gave them a huge "Thank you" to the supervisor of the person who worked on the dispute.
I ordered a Taigen RC tank. It came with multiple damages, definitely not caused during shipping. It was incompetently refurbished. I paid for a refurbished, not a damaged item. Opened RMA, sent them all pictures and explanations, and they insist I send it back so they can try fixing it again. I presented to them other alternatives, because they want me to pay for shipping, which would be expensive due to weight. They don't want to work with me on any other options and keep hiding behind "policy" claiming I have no other option but ship it back for them to fix (or break even more).
Their customer support is amazingly bad. It usually takes 20 min to wait for someone to pick up the phone, and then they either put you back on hold indefinitely, transfer to some voicemail, or disconnect. And the times I was able to get through, most of the time the support people weren't very nice or helpful, and Katie L. (who turns out to be their supervisor) is very ignorant and arrogant. Stay away from hobbytron if you value good business.
I purchased a WinGun Panther 801 from Hobbytron. After 2 weeks it still hadn't shipped. I left messages and never got a return call. I tried to chat online and couldn't get through several times. Finally I was able to reach a representative on the live chat and was informed the order would go out that day and I would get an email confirmation. That didn't happen. The order arrived another week later. The WinGun was defective. I completed the online form for a product return and no response. I again used live chat to speak with a representative that emailed me a return number and advised me I would have to pay shipping to return the item and I could only get a replacement or store credit. This is 32 days after I ordered the item and it arrived broken! Horrible company, horrible customer service, defective product, waste of my time and they don't even apologize or attempt to make it right. Shop elsewhere.
Bought airsoft gun from them which jammed after 10 minutes. Filled out RMA online and then spent 15 minutes in chat session; was told that "this gun is covered by manufacturer's warranty" and that HobbyTron would not give me a replacement or refund. When i asked for manager, she called me with all manner of attitude. When i asked to speak to President, she said she was "as high as it goes" and that he didn't take phone calls and had hired her to deal with stuff like this. NEVER BUY FROM THEM.
I ordered a little remote control firetruck from this site because it was a good deal, but what was sent to me was NOT AT ALL what I ordered! It was a GIANT firetruck way to big to do anything with. I tried to contact them by phone to get information on how to get the right item I ordered, and I was met with a busy signal. I called later after business hours and the recording said to leave a message but I could not because the mail box was FULL! I ended up not returning it because I was never able to contact them and the price of shipping this massive truck back would have been more than I paid for the truck itself. Awful. Stay Away!
Ordered three hover boards. They arrived quickly, were priced well. Out of the box, one rattled but worked. One completely stopped working after about 2 hours of use by a 9 year old just learning how to balance, not rough at all. Emailed, no response. Called no less than 6 times, each time they promised to call back that day, never did. Did three RMAs for each hover board. One week later, still waiting response. In the mean time, our 9 year old how saved his own money for a while for his board has to watch everyone else ride. Still no idea on what they are going to do or when. When I have actually talked to a hobbytron employee (most of the time it was a "answering service" even during their posted business hours) they can't tell me anything other than to wait longer. I will never order from here again. All three boards have some sort of issue and I can't get any response or help from them. Price is not worth this horrible service so far. They haven't even committed to helping the kids out yet.
I was given a drone purchased from Hobbytron as a gift. (Alpha Spy Drone 4.5CH 2.4GHz) Out of the box, despite following the instructions to the letter, and with numerous attempts, the transmitter would not sync to the drone. Also, one of the control switches on the transmitter was loose and fell into the plastic transmitter housing. -- Pure-100%-Junk. Mistakenly, I had recycled the styrofoam packaging, and I was unable to get a Return Authorization; nor was customer service (which was nearly impossible to reach) able to do anything to fix the transmitter not syncing. Never flew, not once, 100% loss. 100% junk. Do not buy this product, or any other product from Hobbytron. UPDATE (April 8,2017) Shina from Hobbytron responded to my review, and requested a conversation. She explained that Hobbytron does not offer refunds for opened and used items. Yes, I did open the box. So, if you open the box, youll not be getting refund. And in my case used means a drone that never flew, not for a second! By all means, purchase your drone somewhere else!

Ordered a helicopter bundle. Received one helicopter and then spent the next two months trying to receive the second one. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Customer service was terrible and was not able to help at all even though it was a simple problem.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! We ordered a gun for our grandson for Christmas, he took it out of the box to try it and it didn't work properly. We wanted to return it and get a refund but were told if it's taken out of the box and played with it is not considered defective. How do you know something is defective without trying it! I was on the phone a very long time trying to get a refund without results and they finally said they'd send us another gun. We'd already replaced the gun and just wanted a refund without success. They replaced the gun and now we have another gun that we have no reason to have.
Sent me a DOA (Dead On Arrival) copter (via GroupOn). They were nice about the exchange, although I had to pay shipping back to them, AND it took them over a month to get the replacement to me. Then, the NEW replacement ALSO arrives DOA. Notified them within 4 days of receipt, and they said I am out of warranty? WHAT? They sent me not one, but TWO copters that were completely non-functioning. Too light tOo even be a paperweight.
So within the first month of having the gun the magazine fell apart upon loading it with the speed loader that was included with the gun. Upon contacting customers support, they never replied in over 2 weeks. So then I went to the live chat where they told me to fill out a RMA form. 2 more weeks go by and no reply. I do another live chat and they tell me that you can't replace the magazine because the gun has been used. Even though it shows a 3 month warranty (the warranty is apparently only if you don't even take the gun out of the box, fire it at all and it's void). Upon telling me this the lady then tells me to get a replacement magazine I need to email a Refurb shop. Where they respond after 3 days with "hello currently i have no parts available. Thanks" No proper English, no help, no ways to get onto a list to be notified when the part is back in stock. Great guns, great store, horrible horrible customer service. Waited almost 2 months to get a single magazine and now my $150 airsoft gun is worthless. :)
Terrible Delivery Time. Told I would be gift prior to December 19. Wont get gift prior to Christmas. Credit card has been charged but still waiting on delivery.
Wow... i wish i could rate lower, well i bought a remote controled airsoft tank for my little brother, he wanted and personally i thought it was pretty cool myself, i received it, it could barley move when charged, the directions where written in poorly translated english and it could shoot the airsoft beebee maybe 4 inches give or take.We then of course wanted to send it back because there was a 30 day money back gurranty, we called and called and called[during the day and business week] and on 31day they called us back, we said we wanted our money back for the piece of crap and they said 'of im sorry the 30 day money back gurrante has expired', then they hung up... STAY AWAY... horrible web site probably based in some foreign country very very bad and if you buy you will get a worthless broken peice of!@#% snd won't get your money back – 8/3/2010

This is the worst company I have ever deal with brought 2 helicopter batteries and neither one was good tried to get in touch so I can get a rma number, have been trying to get in touch for 3 weeks, after calling, emailing and leaving message no one contact me, so all I can do is call it a lost so disappointed in this company, I wish I would had look at the reviews before I ordered,
On a good note, my order arrived on time, and I did not have to wait long for a customer service representative, however, my problem is with the order that we placed. We used a coupon for 10% and 5000 free bb's with our order. We received the order, but no bb's. When I called and said the bb's were not with the order, she said because they said they are sold out, my son will not get his free bb's. She said the coupon states; "while supplies last". It does not say that anywhere on the coupon, also if that was the case, maybe something should have shown while we were checking out so that we knew this ahead of time. Also, I find it hard to believe that you sell airsoft equipment and are sold out of bb's (even if it is promotional). My son saved his money and spent $275.00 and they will not even honor the free bb's... and the customer service lady could have cared less, did not even try to offer any other comps for our inconvience. We had a 20% to use, but choose the lesser so he could get free bb's. I hope our return process is a little smoother than this.
