Going to the store and picking up your order is ok. They have good tools for the dollar. BUT... If you order online it will take you 3 to 4 weeks to receive your goods. Then when you call customer support, they have no idea what is going on.
On their website, I posted a review regarding a dangerous situation with one of their products. After 7 days, the review has not appeared in the review section for the product, leading me to believe they will not post it because it is negative.
I had purchased a 500 amp Load Tester item # *******. The first time I used it, the item smoked. I thought it did so because the item was new & the user manual stated item can get hot. The second time I used the item, it caught fire. I had to use a fire extinguisher to put out the flames. Inside the case of the tester, the positive cable insulation was badly charred & the negative cable insulation slightly charred, but the flames had engulfed the whole inside of the load tester case. It seems the cables used on this item are not sufficient size to handle high amperage. At the time of the second test, I had set it to 425 amps.
Called for my refund three times already... think I'll start a lawsuit... I work hard for my money and each time I call for my refund... its one excuse after the other... never received product yet but they were so quick to take my money... but take forever to give me my refund
Kaliyah Manager at the Bend OR store is definitely a high strung individual. She doesn't know how to handle customers with professionalism. She is extremely snappy and rude. She definitely has a complex that needs to be addressed on how to handle her attitude.
I ordered 3 small dollies at the end of July. Its now the 12 of August and I do not have my items as of yet. I will never mail order again from Harbor Freight. Go to the store and pick it up. If they don't have it in the store, wait until they do. They need to lessons from Amazon and some of the other major mail order suppliers. If you can't do it, don't offer the service.
I bought an automotive scan too there, I paid about $150.00 for it. Went home with it plugged it in to my Chevrolet Suburban, and it does NOTHING. Went right back with it, they told me they won't return it its used, Told them it doesn't work, I wanted them to go to the parking lot and plug it in and see. They said sorry we can't return it, finally after one half hour argument, they said I could return it, BUT there was a $25.00 fee. It's pretty nice when you have to pay them to test their stuff, I called the store manager, they said sorry we cant return it. I took the loss and never returned again. Told every one about it, I have never been back since. I used to shop there a lot. Me and 2 neighbors haven't been in there since.
Ordered a 72" rolling toolbox and a 56" top online, since the store does not carry 72" in stock. Hadn't heard anything on shipping after 7 days so I called. After waiting on hold for 15 minutes, I was told they were in stock and would be shipped next day. Waited 3 more days and no shipping confirmation received. Called back and was told items were now back ordered. If I wanted to wait another 30 days they would put the order in again. I told them I would like a refund and was immediately hung up on. Waited another day for the order cancellation confirmation, and did not get one, so I called for the third time. Waited another 20 minutes and was told my order was not cancelled, but they would now cancel it. Woman was quite rude and acted like she was going out of her way to cancel the order. My question are, If I hadn't kept calling, would they ever have notified me the items were on backorder? What kind of business model is that?
Purchased not one but 3 condensate pumps for our rentals, not one pump worked. Each one only worked when upside down. Now we are waiting weeks for there response to our request to return there junk. The store says they do not take any pumps back. Plus if you call there customer service as the store paperwork says to do. The phone numbers say they no longer do customer service over the phone...
I bought one last year, to be ready for an emergency.
This year I tried to use it and it didn't work. I went to the store, where I was a regular customer and they didn't help at all. I left the piece of garbage right there...
Customer service is trash and a total waste of time.
I bought a product value of $7.99 in few minutes I found out wasn't compatible with what I needed.
Try to return it with reciept and as condition I have to provide ID (wich they will copy and maintain it as written in their return policy)
I did not had my ID and no willing to give it to them to keep.
My son drove me 12 miles to the store.
They do not have a disclaimer of their return policy in plain view for customers, the manager showed it to me, printed in back of reciept.
Doesn't do any good after purchase is done.
I stop doing business with them after 43 years.
Be aware.
The managers said is a company new policy.
We are ruled in this country by Federal and State Customer protection laws and statutes, not company policies.
Stay away from them.
I bought three of these and engines. The best engine replacement was for a log splitter. Although I had to buy a adapter to make the shaft 3/4. This is a beast of an engine. Two pulls and it starts right up. I like the idea of two bearings on the ends. It behooves me how this can run 8 hours a day for maybe up to 3 weeks at a time
Ordered a lot of products from them without any major problems until now. One of my items on my order was on back order, so they just canceled the item. When I went on-line to check on my order, it showed that the order had a shipping label, but had not shipped. I call customer service & some B hung up on me when I was giving her my order number. Called them again & let them have it. The guy at customer service said my order had shipped, Fed X say that they haven't picked it up yet & the Harbor Freight web site shows my order on back order. Told them to remove my information from their web site & no more buying from Harbor Freight!
They steal your personal information right under your noses. I returned a $20 item that I paid cash for and they asked to SEE and ID. Upon showing them my driver's license, they SCANNED it without my intermission, therefore stealing my personal information. Seeing an ID does not mean "scanning" an ID. This also means that if you are too young to have an ID, they will not refund you your money. So when you think you're getting a good deal, think about what other sinister things they do with your personal information in a world of ramped cyber theft.
I purchased one of their mobile jumper cable systems approximately four months ago as I live in the country and need to jump vehicles every so often. This was the second jumper cable system I purchased from them as my first one lasted many years. When I purchased the second one I plugged it in to get it charged and left it alone. Well a couple of days ago I needed to jump a vehicle so I pulled it out. The system said it was totally charged so I hooked it up to the battery of the vehicle and tried to start the vehicle. The battery back up would not work so I called Harbor freight to see if I could swap the one they sold me for a new one. And although I had never used it they said no because it was past the 90 day warranty. So I guess I learned my lesson buying crappy, cheap tools from a crappy cheap company.
I just purchased a generator quiet 9500watts in June and one day stop running after make a explosion and only have 500 hours worked! If you planning to buy one i don't recommend plese dont buy! Its cheap but piece a garbage.
The workers at harbor freight are never happy very unfriendly and doesn't really want to help anyone, that main goal is to sell as much of that cheap tools as possible and use your information to bug you with coupons that never changes. Most of the time they never have the tool that you looking for for weeks maybe months but constantly sends you emails on great deals that are not so great cuz they all stay the same with the 90 day warranty that they will not honor and charge you for restock if you return them. Harbor freight also re-box return and effective tools just to resell them and then charge restock fee for anyone that return the defective parts that they have re-boxed, it's happened to me three times already and just recently I check my box before I walked out of the store and turn right back around and had the manager to give me another item. I'm at the point of retuning all the tools that's still under the 90 day warranty then wash my hands to them.
Its Harbor Freight. Its the cheapest stuff coming out of China. They modestly mark it up and resell it. The website is OK and shipping is average. If your looking for cheap tools its the place you want to go. Just remember you get what you pay for. So if you want DeWalt, Milwaukee, or Bosch quality go somewhere else and pay for it. I've ordered numerous items and haven't been disappointed in the products I've received yet. I have yet to deal with customer services, so no comment on that yet.
Customer Service and Knowledge of Staff in the Titusville FL location leaves much to be desired. Received a 25% of coupon we went to utilize on a trailer that was NOT excluded in the fine print. However, the management decided that they would incorporate the trailer into a name brand of tools on the exclusion. When questioned on this they stated it was indeed that brand….
After purchasing the trailer and review of the title and receipt it was once again determined it did not fall into the exclusion category so we reached out to the corporate service line. We were informed they cannot assist us and a District Manager would reach out within 5 business days well at 3 weeks later we are yet to receive any follow up!
I would not recommend! Just remember Good Service isn't Cheap and Cheap Service isn't good proves true again!
Call the company and tell them to cancel... they tell you its processing and they can not cancel they tell you to refuse shipping... but then they still charge you for shipping... (bad company)... so about a week later they ship it... when FedEx come... tell the driver DO NOT take off the truck... now you never received.
Take a picture of your box on the truck... send it to your credit card company and dispute the WHOLE charge including shipping. Your credit card company will refund ALL money back to you. I will never use harbor freight again
I like the new Blue professional grade drills. I got a set for Christmas and it is every bit as good as my milwaukee drills. I also have the sliding compound miter saw, professional model. It is fantastic. So, if you know what you are looking for, just buy the top of the line and you will be fine. I just bought the 16 speed heavy duty floor press model ******* and it is great, but be careful because they have the same suit that the model begins with a 3, but from what I read, this model is problematic. I gave mine a good run today and I am very pleased with it. Good luck
Answer: I spent 24 minutes on the phone with them only to be told their product was perfect and problem was with my network. The person did not have a clue about what he was talking about.
Answer: I cannot see the particular part you are inquiring about, but could you make something to work? I am thinking you are referring to the notched piece that the handle locks into. Remember, you do not need to duplicate the piece, just make one that works. If you want to send me a picture I would have a better idea. I do have the smaller one which I think is similar. mountainsofwv@gmail, com Jim
