I was freshly new to this app, I was there 3 weeks and was banned without explanation as to exactly why other than claiming I broken a rule? I emailed team support asking what rule I broken as I was then asked to file an appeal as I did still not knowing exactly what I did so bad to be literally banned, as I have heard nothing back from team support and it's been a week while still not knowing what I done so wrong other than what I suspect, I ve tried reaching team support in other ways while still ignored, I suspect another member became mad or envy of me and reported my account as staff took sides with the individual who was more in likely a bully as the staff must of thought and felt a like, while they punished me by blocking my IP address without no explanation as to why I was being treated this way without no forewarning :( I suspect someone became angry be cause i would not meet them or would meet them right now as people expect there often or someone become envy of me either way the individual wanted to stand in my way of meeting people preventing me from being able to remain on the app as staff sided with this individual while throwing me under the bus kicking me out, I was super friendly with everybody there even if I was not attracted to them I was still super nice and chatted with them or wished them luck on their search, unless they insulted me I then would block them or stand up for myself which happened twice due to another being upset i would not meet them, people on that app broke rules continuous while I was there and behaved badly while not banned while people also changed their bio often as i did only sometimes, i did set certain standards and requirements on my profile due to my schedule fluctuates often and I did like to chat and vibe first before meeting due to safety which is important because there have been crimes reported by other's who they met from the app due to theft and assault, yet team support must view this as a flaw while giving dating advice which was not greatest tbh and no body I talked with there listen to, I feel like certain staff are bullies themselves with a envy streak that bends rules and will banned other's due to other members disapproval or envy, it seems they break their own rules they set and get by with it because they have control over the app, I feel the staff behaved distasteful, immature, rude, ignorant, careless, unfair and unequally to me when they should have probably took a better look into the one who was reporting me at their conversation as my conversations were all polite and friendly, and because of this bad treatment is why I am here making this bad review. They are lucky they even get a star that they don't deserve due to their behavior and unorthodox decisions.

This ban however, I have been through the ringer for over 24 hours. I have contacted my State's Attorney General, but this is more, because I do business with some anonymous customers (No, I didn't solicit through their App, the group decided to move there when KiK was about to be shut down.) First off, I wrote a comparison of the Asian Scammers (the majority of scammers you run into 4-5 times daily on the app) I compared the public education of these Scammers to US education system, and said the US must be okay, well, that butt hurt one of their "moderators" really quick, as I was banned, nearly instantly. Asian isn't a race or nationality, it is a CONTINENT. I used no hate, offered a joke to other Grindr users with the same headache. Okay, 70% of my customers use Grindr to hatch out notes, logs, and the like for my jobs. I deal with other associates and others. So, on top of banning me for no reason, they didn't look at, nor respond to my requests to get into my account to get information to give to the police because the LAST HUMAN BEING I met there, stole my Prep, and my Anxiety medication. (seriously, toxic toxic toxic, on that app.) I've been TRYING for over 24 hours to get this issue resolved with their Customer *******@grindr_support has been deactivated, found that out after posting to it. Sent multiple messages to as many places as I could find to send those greedy, cheap, and uncaring company that is SOLELY based on apparently (as little work as humanly possible with the most profit) In the last few years, it feels like some kid in their parent's basement bought the app as passive income, hired two third world out-sourced "Moderators" and shut down ANY means to get support from them. I tried over 40 times in 24 hours, and to this second, have not been able to talk to a single human being. This shady $#*! business practice won't hold up with me, cause THEY are costing ME money. I filed a complaint with the AG in my state, and if they continue to Neglect my needs, and deny me access to my customer, my friends, my fwb, and other colleagues from the last decade, then I gotta do what I gotta do, but I'm not gonna let some shady $#*!s running a $#*! app, with NO COMMUNITY, NO SUPPORT, and the man material anymore? Methed out, cracked out, lying, sneaky, stealing, TOXIC People. Evil attracts evil, and if you don't have any customer service at all, you have NO chance of expanding. The last 6-9 months have BEEN HORRIBLE, they added 75% more ads or so, that are crazy in the way, and they activate with 3 movements. Whoever owns the app now, has ZERO ideas how to run a business. Is allowing untrained, uneducated, and English as a 6th or later language decide who is banned or not. Better not talk about the Scammers, cause that seemed to hit home fast. I'm not saying that GrindR is involved with a scheme of International Scammers, but they weren't there in the beginning, and no security patches or updates have been released to stop these human wastes of oxygen. They may not be working with them, but it's truly very shady that they are still there, and no attempts have been made to even SLOW down their attempts at stealing your Tinder account, or getting you to stop and get a Google Gift Card, so some scammer can buy the kids a game so you two can $#*!. It's always the same scam. But, what has the company done to protect their consumers from these? NOTHING. They used to release security patches in the early days. But, if you look them up on twitter, between the OBSURD amount of ads that have been added in the last 6 months, the removal of ALL the access to Customer Support, and actually NO RESPONSE FROM ANYONE when they are liable for damages that THEY caused, and hurt my own social groups. From what I've been reading, and the shady, VERY suspect, and neglect of the entire customer base, no support, no marketing, or lowering those outrageous prices to increase sales. Imagine it like this, Titantic, with more holes, and FaceBook and GrubHub ads covering all the holes. And Mystery people at the other end, scared of anyone, and pissing in their pants at the thought of talking to another human being. It's being run into the ground, mismanaged, and someone thinks they have a passive income stream, but they will quickly learn the difference between passive, and intentional and criminal neglect. Not worth the time, money, or dealing with the Toxic environment that seems to only attract, addicts, mental disorders, thieves, and all your favorite drug dealers and prostitutes STILL GOING STRONG, and so are the scammers. There's no clear vision here, it used to be good, now it's like Methuselah, DECADES after his death, being held up by some kids who thought they were going to use it like Weekend at Bernies. DO NOT TRUST. DEFINITELY DO NOT SPEND MONEY PURCHASING THEIR PACKAGES, you will instantly be banned, and they will just keep it. If there's ANY criminal issues with them, go ahead, and contact your local State's Attorney General and file a Consumer Protection complaint. If it's not on it's last legs, it needs to be, they've killed off the community with those random, unreasonable, totally arbitrary bans. The business is NOT growing, it's dev team is non-exist, there's no communications with customers, and if you look at their Twitter account, the owner has ANOTHER site posted, trying to sale something different there. It's a cluster $#*!, and it would take a GENIUS to save this app, or the current management to finish off the selfish job that they got going. Grindr is one of those free-to-use apps that lurks somewhere in the realm of nowhere. They lure you in with the arena of a service you find attractive and needful. You take the bite and open a free-to-use account. The syrupy sweet nectar of trolling other guys' profiles and their pics becomes addictive to the point you crave more. Then you do it, you click that side button on your iPhone or Android and confirm the purchase of the minimal and cheapest, re-occurring level of membership. SNAP! Grindr's mouse trap just made a sale that is nearly impossible to get back. You just purchased the "Xtra" features. Yes, you can cancel the subscription at any time. But, Wait! There's more! You suddenly realize that fee you just paid for 30-days of membership gets you very little extra. Maybe one bell or a whistle more than the free-to-use version. Suddenly, you can't click this or that without being rolled to the "Unlimited" package option to purchase the right to use those features. "Hmm" you think."$39.99 isn't really that bad." So, you stick your finger in the jaws of the next trap- we'll just call it the rat trap. SNAP! It's stings a little more but the distraction of getting five extra bells or three whistles more make up for the discomfort.
On the second day, you begin noticing things that shouldn't be. You blocked a big bad dude that you just can't bear to see in your grid. Then the next day, he's back. Maybe he has another account? Okay. You block him again. Then he comes back a day later. What's the deal!? Years ago, Grindr used to put a "hard" limit on how many "blocks" you could have. On the 11th block attempt, it would roll you over to the option of purchasing another tier of membership. That wasn't working too well for them because it frustrated the customer and then just recreated a new free-to-us account. So, Grindr grew a new set and decided to set the block limit of 20 BUT, on block 21st block, unknowingly to the customer, the first person you blocked would become unblocked and allow you to block a new user. One block, out… one block, in. You think you're getting unlimited blocks. Nope! You can pay the full $240/year membership and you'll still only have 20 slots to block. Check out the features of the Unlimited tier. You get "more blocks." Not unlimited blocks, but "more blocks" They do this to prevent their service from slowing down when it loads your grid. The service has to check each blocked profile you have and if it finds a match, then it will not load that blocked profile in your grid. If you had of a hundred blocked profiles, your grid wouldn't load as fast.
One day you get an email that your account has been removed. WTH! You try to open the app and your account is totally gone. Refund? HA! There's a better chance they'll be serving ice cream in hell. You send an email to the dark-matter mail server in the Gamma quadrant. A few weeks, months or maybe later, you get an automated email stating your account was reported and you really should consider their community rules and regulations. You just sunk $240 into the employee profit and sharing program, not to mention you just bought their Thanksgiving Turkey, a meat & cheese tray for a retirement party of the senior account-canceler, and paid for the 240 assorted cookie tray for their Christmas party. You request a refund. You hear nothing. You send fiery darts with African dart-frog poison at them via email and all you get in return is another automated email stating you failed to meet community guidelines.
My friends, Grindr is not your friend. It is a vicious and dark trap that you need to be weary of. Think of the hundreds of thousands of customers that just pay the $19.99/month fee. They're rich! If you continue using their free-to-use service, you don't pay Grindr but you help Grindr make almost as much because of the ant-ridden flood of advertisements popping up on your device. Think about it! Go buy yourself a leather pant-suit, 3-times too small and stand on the corner of your street! Better yet, a vibrator and it will be over cheaper and quicker!

Grindr has never been 100%. I used to pay for the unlimited which in Canada costs 37.99 before tax add 13% for tax. It takes forever to update location if you move from one city to another. I'm in Ontario and can go from Kitchener to London or Kitchener to Toronto and it takes forever to update my location even if I reset my phone. I have all location permissions on. No other app has this issue. I contacted help a few times and it's always my phone or a setting. I am always doing something wrong it's never a fault of the app. I upgraded to the Samsung S20 Ultra 5G. Thought this might solve the issue. Nope it's still a problem. So I dropped down to the Xtra. Lagging of sending messages occurs daily. It constantly shows no connection. In the middle of a chat it does this. Did this with my old phone which was not old S10 plus and did this with unlimited and now the same with Xtra. I reset my phone continually to use Grindr and it still persists. I live in a city that has 5G, I have a 5G device and a 5G plan from my carrier yet when I leave wifi and I am now on 5G or LTE+ or LTE it takes 5 min or longer to find a network and or reconnect. This occurs so frequently I won't be paying for Grindr on a go forward. It's not worth it. Unlimited $37.99 more than a dollar a day during a pandemic. That is GREED and nothing more. Other sites and apps have given free subscriptions during the pandemic, not Grindr. And they most certainly do not give a refund for the issues. The Xtra isn't much better than than the free. Everything with Grindr has to be all or nothing. $37.99 is what you have to pay. Again, ridiculous corporate GREED. I wish all GRINDR users could ban together and teach Grindr and lesson and for a year no one buy Xtra or unlimited everyone use the free Grindr for 6 months to a year. Then some of the issue might get fixed. Maybe some of the features you could do before unlimited will return. The only thing that will force them to change is lost revenue. That is all they care about. Can you imagine the impact if globally ever user went free for 6 months to a year. Grindr would lose its mind and changes would occur. Sadly, this won't occur and Grindr will continue to remove features to the unlimited and continue to rape us financially.

OMG! Where do I even start with this sleazy app? First. It is so buggy it is ridiculous: login problems, servers down, won't refresh, won't create new accounts, etc. And the customer service? LMFAO There is none! Good luck getting a response to any problem you are having (and you WILL have them). But the tech issues pale in comparison to most of the men who regularly use this site. Yes, I suppose there are some decent guys on here, maybe 5% would be my guess. But for the most part you can expect to find the dregs of society, human offal, cheating husbands and partners, the closet cases, liars, the socially inept and the emotionally frigid whose idea of sexual intimacy is to swap pics, talk dirty and then disappear without ever intending to meet an actual person. Phlegm has more appeal. Perhaps 1/3 of the profiles will be blank, another 1/3 headless torsos, with the remainder showing their faces but lacking the decency to be embarrassed about being on such a bottom-feeding app. LOL Unfortunately, most of these men have few other options. Which is a shame because some of these guys are PHYSICALLY attractive and you would think they would have no need of an app like this. But spend five minutes interacting with them online and you understand why they are on Grindr. When you factor in their lack of conscience, situational ethics, sense of entitlement, selfishness, dishonesty, self-loathing and social clumsiness it becomes apparent that the only chance they have of getting any $#*! is by parasitising their own on Grindr or by some guy dying and willing it to them. No other options. Oh and everyone knows their HIV status! Negative (smirk). How about that?! Could you ever imagine?! Yes, the married guys who routinely bottom bareback for any dude they can get on this site and then slink home to the wife and kids. And have unprotected sex with their wives. No risky behavior there! If you ever get a hankering to play Russian Roulette using an STD as the bullet then Grindr is the place to go. Degenerates. Idiots. Sociopaths. Third-order chimpanzees through and through. And I am not trying to insult chimps, either. In fact, the Great Apes (and all the monkeys, too) have far better morals than most of the "men" on Grindr. To be blunt (I know no other way) this app is loaded with cowards, too spineless to be who they really are. Choosing to remain hidden despite the fact that gay men and lesbians have some rights now. We can even marry! Just like real people! No cojones. The most effeminate, flamboyant and outrageous drag queen has a bigger set of stones than these men do. And by no small margin, either. Massive denial. Before the days of computers and cell phones these are the guys that would hang out in parks and public restrooms, giving decent gay men a black eye that still lingers to this day. Because at its core that is what Grindr is, an online public restroom. Supposedly, Grindr has around 10,000,000 people worldwide (the overwhelming majority men) as a user base and is the "go to" app for gay men. BFD! "Go to" app? Says who? Not for this gay man and not for many, many other gay men, either. Just because 10,000,000 people have a stupid idea does not make that anything more than a stupid idea, now does it? I wonder what the gay men in Eygpt, Iran and Indonesia think about this idea. The little good that Grindr manages to do, connecting isolated and lonely gay men, is far outweighed by the damage it is doing. Namely, allowing us to treat each other as nothing more than disposable $#*! and continuing to perpetuate the lie that our lives are dirty, unhappy, unfulfilling, excessively promiscuous and SHOULD be hidden. Yes, keep lurking in the shadows boys. Whatever you do remain hidden so the light of day cannot shine on us and we stay marginalized for God knows how much longer. Hide behind and use people who love you as a shield against the big, bad, scary world. Way to help polish our image! Way to help further our cause! Ugh. Don't go near this app. I need a long, long shower!
