At the end of Oct 2024 I booked flights for MIA-NAS in March 2025 via the online platform Flight Network. The outbound flight was apparently postponed by the airline (15 Jan), so that the planned connection was no longer possible (transfer time originally just under 4 hours, no connection possible after change).
We were given the opportunity to contact the airline so that we could rebook our flight.
We did this in good time (18 January). The platform confirmed that they would clarify the rebooking with the airline.
I was then in regular contact with the platform for several weeks, without success - the platform blamed it on the airline, saying that they had not yet confirmed it. We contacted the airline, also without success or feedback.
The platform always gave the same generic answers in the support chat, so I also tried the phone to get someone on the phone. In the end, I was on the line for over an hour without success. As the trip was getting closer and we seemed to have no possibility or influence on a working solution, it seemed to us to be the last resort to request a cancellation and chargeback of the order or transfer and to rebook. This is what we did in the end. I requested and received confirmation of the cancellation, a colleague in the travel group rebooked (unfortunately at almost double the price originally paid).
As I had not received a refund until shortly before the start of the trip, and also until the day of departure in Austria (approx. 16-18 hours before 'departure of the originally booked connection MIA-NAS') there was no sign from Flight Network or Bahamasair, I contacted the support team again.
They assured me that the refund 'will still be made and I don't need to worry'. I set a deadline for the support team, which was neither honoured nor met.
Since then I have been in contact twice regarding the refund, again the same generic answers, the case is blamed on the airline and a solution does not seem to be in sight.
Based on the given experience and the money lost, this will be my last experience with Flight Network. As soon as you have to rely on support, even if it's someone else's fault, you seem to have lost. Hopefully I have been able to help future travellers with this and save some potential misery and lost money!
