Worst Experience with Fiverr.com
December 9, 2024

I previously shared a review on trustpilot about my negative experiences with Fiverr's support team. In response, Fiverr opened a new support ticket, asking me once again to provide details about the exact issue I'd already explained multiple times—both on Trustpilot and directly through their support system. Unfortunately, this "new" attempt to address my concerns followed the same pattern as before: my explanation was repeatedly ignored, and the conversation was passed from one support representative to another, each of them essentially asking for the same details I had already given.

To summarize the core issues that led to my original review:

Canceled Order Due to Client's Absence:
I had developed a custom PowerApp according to a buyer's requirements. The buyer reviewed it, approved it, and we scheduled a migration call. On the scheduled day, the client went silent and did not attend the meeting. I reached out multiple times and even requested a time extension, but the client never responded. Once the order went late (solely due to the client's unresponsiveness), the client canceled it, citing dissatisfaction with the preview—despite previously approving the work.
When I turned to Fiverr support for help, they took hours to respond, by which time the cancellation had already gone through. Although I had evidence that I delivered exactly what was requested, the support team did nothing to prevent or fairly resolve the cancellation.

Lack of Genuine Review of My Concerns:
After the cancellation, my account's visibility and performance metrics were negatively impacted. Two other orders were affected, and I repeatedly tried to get Fiverr support to understand what went wrong. Instead of thoroughly reviewing my case, support kept closing my tickets with generic, template-like instructions. This lack of proper attention forced me to open new tickets to seek clarity.

Unjust Warning Without Valid Reason:
Eventually, Fiverr issued me a "warning" for supposedly "spamming customer support." However, when I asked for details, the reasons they gave made no sense. They claimed I opened multiple tickets on the same issue, yet they could only list four separate tickets, each concerning entirely different orders and scenarios. I also requested they provide the fifth supposedly "duplicate" ticket, but they never did. Another explanation they gave was that I sent multiple follow-up messages. In reality, I only sent reminders after support closed tickets without addressing my concerns. How else could I seek help if my issues remained unresolved?

The warning had serious implications—my account was about to be evaluated for Top-Rated Seller status, but just one day prior, this baseless warning appeared. I had done nothing more than try to get a fair resolution to ongoing issues. The timing felt targeted and punitive, rather than a genuine enforcement of any real guidelines.

Repetitive, Unhelpful Responses to My Trustpilot Feedback:
After I left my initial Trustpilot review, Fiverr opened a new support case asking for the same details all over again. I explained everything again—order numbers, what happened, and the resulting issues. Instead of acknowledging the history already on file, different support agents kept cycling in. Each time I had to repeat the same story, and each time they responded with generic, repetitive instructions—like a script they refused to deviate from. It was a loop of being asked to provide the same details and then told there was nothing they could do.

Conclusion:
What stands out is that Fiverr's support system seems designed to wear you down rather than resolve issues. Multiple representatives were involved, yet none properly reviewed the chat history or the evidence I presented. They gave me a warning for following up on unresolved problems, refused to remove it, and never truly addressed the root cause of my complaint. The entire experience—both in the initial support tickets and the follow-up after my last review—feels grossly unfair and unjust.

Because Fiverr's support repeatedly fails to provide meaningful resolutions and consistently ignores critical details, I'm left with no choice but to warn others. If you're a freelancer on Fiverr, don't expect meaningful help when something goes wrong. The platform's support process is time-consuming, repetitive, and ultimately dismissive of legitimate concerns.

This is my honest experience and I share it in the hope that Fiverr might one day take these issues seriously and improve their approach to customer service. Until then, I strongly advise freelancers and buyers alike to proceed with caution when dealing with Fiverr's support.

Fiverr Aware of Seller Policy Breaches: A Call for Accountability
October 19, 2024

I am writing to bring attention to a significant issue I encountered on Fiverr regarding the representation of developers on their platform. As a client, I placed my trust in Fiverr's vetting process and the professionals I hired, only to discover that many developers misrepresent themselves as solo workers when, in reality, they are part of a team or outsourcing their work.

This lack of transparency undermines the platform's credibility and often leads to subpar quality and unprofessional results. I hired a developer who claimed to be a "Professional Mobile App Developer" specializing in custom apps. However, after speaking with him, I learned he was part of a company working alongside another Fiverr professional. Initially, I was pleased to think I had top professionals collaborating on my project.

However, after several months into the work, I realized the application was inadequate. Not being a coder myself, I took their word that they would resolve issues outside of the order deadline, believing I was in good hands. Unfortunately, as we reached the API connection phase, I discovered that the frontend was still non-functional. They continued to fix problems long after the order closed, wasting precious time. Eventually, I sought the help of a professional frontend developer to evaluate the product, and he was shocked by what he found—over 16,000 issues in the code, including blatant violations of coding standards and instances of code being copied from a completely unrelated barber shop app.

I presented Fiverr with clear documentation outlining these frontend development issues and formally requested a cash refund for the project. I also pointed out violations of their own Trust and Transparency Policy. Despite this, Fiverr has allowed a breach of their own rules to persist. In their communications, they admitted that they were aware I knew the developer was part of a team. If Fiverr recognized my awareness, then it stands to reason that they also understood the violation occurring yet chose to overlook it.

Here are the relevant Fiverr policies that are being violated:

Fiverr's Terms of Service:

User Representations: Fiverr's Terms of Service require users to provide accurate and complete information when creating an account and using the platform, including being truthful about their skills and experience.
Fiverr's Community Standards:

Integrity and Professionalism: These standards emphasize that users should conduct themselves with honesty and integrity, which includes accurately representing their skills and being transparent about the work being performed.
Seller Guidelines:

Gig Description Requirements: Fiverr guidelines state that sellers should provide accurate descriptions of their services, including clarity on who will be performing the work and any relevant qualifications or collaborations involved.
By allowing developers to pose as solo professionals without verifying their actual capabilities or team structure, Fiverr enables sellers to violate these critical rules. This is particularly concerning as many developers' profiles claim to provide high-quality, solo-developed work, misleading clients like myself who place their trust in their expertise. Clients often invest significant amounts of money, only to be disappointed by the results.

I urge Fiverr to take immediate action to address this issue. Implementing stricter guidelines to ensure that freelancers accurately represent their skills and the nature of their work is essential. Clients deserve transparency and honesty when selecting professionals for their projects.

Until these changes are made, I strongly caution potential clients to thoroughly vet freelancers and seek clarification on their team structures before making any commitments. It's crucial to protect yourself and your investment.

My hard-earned money has been systematically stolen
September 19, 2024

I was briefly a seller on Fiverr. I earned roughly $1500 in 3-4 months, which I have not been able to withdraw a single penny from. Basically what happens is, that clients can get refunds without ever needing to provide proof of a bad service. In any case, the freelancer is not asked to provide their point of view, the money for the given project will be withheld from their account and that's it. This goes against Fiverr's own Terms of Service, that states the following: "Orders are not eligible to be canceled based on the quality of Service/materials delivered by the Seller if the service was rendered as described in the Gig Page or as agreed between Seller and Buyer. You may rate your experience with the Seller on the Order Page, including the overall level of service quality received."

The most severe case that I had was the following:

Client orders BIM modeling job, and then gets angry when the free architectural design is not to his liking, also wants MEP and detail modeling for free. Also, keeps freelancer hostage on a 3 week project for 3 months, requesting more and more revisions, stealing his money at the end by canceling the project through customer support 1.5 months after completion, but also giving him a 1.3 star review.

This is yet another Terms of Service/Payment Terms violation, because orders cannot be cancelled this late after cancellation, with the exception of severe cases where the Terms of Service have been violated. In this case Customer Support said that because I communicated with the client outside the platform I violated the TOS. Outside communication is permitted however if it is essential for completing the job. In my case the point cloud files needed to be transferred on sharepoint, because they are huge (80GB in this case). For this I needed an email address.

Communication with Customer Support is very cumbersome as they are responding with some generic, copy-pasted messages. They do not care about the Seller's point of view, nor do they respond to any information communicated to them in a natural manner. It's like talking to a (very much obsolete) robot. Meanwhile withdrawal was disabled for my account, so I was not able to withdraw funds that I earned from projects that went perfectly well. It is not an exaggeration to say that my hard-earned money has been systematically stolen.

I was a seller for 12 years and they disabled my account
May 29, 2024

Fiverr disabled my 5 stars, 100 percent response rate, success level 10, repeat buyer badge account while I was sleeping due to a single horrible and abusive customer who wanted to cancel two orders after the work was completed. This is a TERRIBLE site to freelance and I am planning on getting as many sellers with similar expeirences together for a class action lawsuit aginst this company for it's unethical business practices regarding sellers. STAY AWAY AND DO NOT SELL ON THIS UNSTABLE
AND GREEDY PLATFORM!

JUNE 4TH - They claimed they would review my account and then that basically made up an excuse as to why the account was disabled. However, since then, I have learned that the UK and US are investigating fiverr for violating workers rights and establishing the company as a freelance site when they are operating as an employer without protcetion for it's employees. I am talking to a legal team who is preparing evidence against the site for it's illegal business practices.

The UK supreme court confirmed that in the case of Uber, the relationship that of an employer and employee — and not self-employed or an "independent contractor" as gig platforms try to pitch themselves to governments. The rationale is simple: if the individual is subject to significant control over what, when and how to work, it is considered employment.
In the case of Fiverr, the "when" element is particularly extreme given that workers are put on a clock, which is open to exploitation by buyers who let the worker make progress on a sizeable portion of the work, and then play for time in order to later decline a job that was not delivered on time, thereby leaving the worker completely out of pocket. Fiverr provides no protection to workers who fall victim to such abuse as the company seeks to grow it's client base at all cost. Unlike Uber, Fiverr does not cover workers against chargebacks either, which can easily leave a worker out of pocket with as much as $5000. The "what" and "how" factors are also very controlled in the sense that a rigid system is imposed on the worker with penalties for responding late on weekends and overnight, ultimately creating the ideal modern slavery concept where customer services is extended to a 24/7 situation in order to retain a ranking. Rankings also go down when chargeback situations are complained about by workers.
Overall, Fiverr exerts substantially more control over workers than Uber, even when they are not actively working when the customer service and response obligations are considered. It can be argued that Airbnb is doing the same when the various elements of compliance, which all impact the what, when and how factors of control. There were also alarming voices from India, such as a petition on change.org that urged the Fiverr CEO, Micha Kaufman to stop the exploitation of Indian children.

They scam you here, watch out
February 8, 2024

I was scammed 3 times on Fivverr, their customer service is horrible, the way reviews are set up is shady, you hire these people for some type of job you should be able to edit your reviews and it won't allow you, for example I hired a guy for amazon ppc set up, paid for the campaign not even knowing it would work or not, finish and complete the order, then you can see the result, campaign was absoulty useless and the guy who did the work never replied to my message when I told him camping is not ranking or brining any sales, or hired someone to gain more followers, im still unfollowing pages, my biz is in beauty and there are so many under age girls with very sexual pictures, I hired a girl name mimi but pages that she followed it was very obvious that person was a man not woman, or another time influencer got my money oner $100 and she was supposed to post, sent me one thing and post something else with bad quality, stay away from these guys, its fiver itself scamming people, the way the platform is set up its set up to take your money and screw you over, watch out, reporting them to BBB and FTC

Honest review of Fiverr. Here you go.
January 26, 2023

We came up with another business plan and couldn't agree on a name for our business, so we reached out to Fiverr to see how thy are, what they do and how they could help us. Our business was wanting a.com domain, no hyphen words or shorten words.
Our business was delivering data, information to clients from a overhead view.
FIVERR has many different avenues from coming up with business names, logos, websites, name a book, name a baby etc...
The ads they you have to pilfer through is just nuts.
Was looking for 5-10 names, revision if needed to see something out of our box and off our table.
We reached out to 4 candidates.
Seller 1. New seller From U.S. with less than 4 reviews came up with 10 names that wasn't name generated. Out of 10 names we chose 3. They were easy to spell and remember. The words they came up with mostly was english words consisting of 2 words. Cost 20.00
2. From U.S. with less than 1 review came up with 10 names that weren't generated out of the 10 names we chose 7 but had to remove 2 due to spelling conflicts.
These were English words consisting of 2.
Cost 5.00
3. From Morocco with 411 reviews. Came up with 8 names that seemed very generated they did produce more than 8 names but really? Here's some of their submissions... Edgy sky, Edgy view, Edgy shadows,Superb shadows, Lively edge.
We had problems communicating even when using easy sentences had problems getting a straight answer.
We chose zero names asked for a revision and they were not happy and can't beleive we didn't like the names.after 1/2 day back and forth we decided to chock it up as a loss. Know this.when you open a revision you cannot close it even when contacting FIVERR the seller has to complete before it can be closed. At this time if I do or don't get my money back. Lesson learned.
Cost 20.00
4. From U.S. with 105 reviews. Came up with 10 names some seemed generated due to previous ad had the same names given to me on a earlier date.
Out of 10, three of the names were already registered 1 since 2000.
So 7 names to overview. They were made up words that out of 15 adults and 2 kids no one could spell them correctly, even when given a second chance.
Asked for a revision and was told it's hard to find words. And no revision was needed.
Really didn't do what we needed or asked for but they are quick to call it quits after they get paid for a mediocre job/service
Cost 30.00

So the lesson here is big money doesn't give you the rewards your looking for.its probably best to stick with friends, family etc when looking for a name.
75.00 invested and we didn't even use the names given. But good lesson now we know.
Also, Fiverr is based ISRAEL. They charge a credit card fee and a service fee. Just remember that as well.

We will not be using Fiverr in the future, there are other real avenues to go down besides this path.

Tip for consumers:

Just don't. Work with local agents to help you.

I got scammed by a seller and Fiverr washed their hands off!
April 16, 2022

I am writing in to express my disappointment with how my case was handled by the staff of Fiverr. I have been a loyal customer of Fiverr for so long and I became a VID. Many times I got shortchanged by sellers but I still continued to do business with Fiverr. On 29th of Jun 2021, I purchased a gig with mariodrushku. His gig mentioned that he will coach and build my amazon store to reach 7-figures. It is obvious that to even place an order with Aliexpress to build custom made product will take months. After we discussed everything in Fiverr platform, a contract was made and document. The contract clearly states that if the seller does not fulfil his gig, I will be refunded. All these in Fiverr. Than I paid over USD 2K. Soon after that the seller told us that the process will take time and that I have to accept the order and rate him. So I accepted the order based on the initial part of the service that is to set up the Amazon account. Now we have to wait for Aliexpress to reply back etc. This was the time mariodrushku told us to communicate via Skype so he can use the video to guide us. By Dec 2021, our first product went live on Amazon and we made the firsyt sale. But there was no profit. According to mariodrushku, the price was set very low to get to top ranking. By the end of Mar 2022, Amazon started to haunt us that we have to reduce our stocks, otherwise a fee will be imposed. We contacted mariodrushku and told him about the issue. He disappeared shortly after that and we ended up disposing the goods. I contacted Fiverr and asked about mariodrushku. He was no longer with them. Obviously something happened. I Was worried that my hard earned money was scammed. After investigation, I was informed that the most Fiverr can do was to give 15% discount to get another Gig. Reason given was because, the duration of the Gig was more than 14 days (cancellation policy). In the first place, if the cancellation policy is only for 14 days, then why approve these types of Gigs to be sold on the platform? I am a merchant myself and I sell goods that come with warranty. I make sure my customers get the warranty for the goods they buy. If the goods are expected to work for a year, the warranty will be for a year. I dont cheat their money. The most Fiverr could have done was to refund partial payment for work not done. But they simply washed their hands off. I am still waiting for justice and I will share this posts everywhere until I get my refund!

Tip for consumers:

Just avoid this platform!

The WORST "Support" I have EVER Received
April 8, 2022

I wanted to create a gig and needed to verify my phone number to do so. The issue was that my phone number was associated with another account of mine that I had closed years earlier, so it was not allowing me to do so. I put in a request with support to remove that phone number from the deleted account so I could re-verify it. What I got instead was a copy-pasta from support telling me how to verify my account. I explained that the error I received was NOT "the number is not supported" but "Your number is Already Associated with another account" and they needed to remove it as it was for a deleted account. They then told me to delete the account... So I explained again that I could not log in as the account no longer exists, and that it prompts me to create a new account when I try to login with the old credentials. They (support) then pass me off to another support member who sends me the exact copy-pasta telling me how to verify my account without even reading the previous case notes. I re-explain the situation and he asks me the number I want to verify. He says its tied to another account... I say yes. It's tied to my old account that was closed years ago. He then says it is not supported in the system, which it clearly was if it was tried to another account. He then passes me off AGAIN to a 3rd support member who sends me the same copy-pasta about how to verify an account. I explain YET AGAIN that the issue is that a valid phone number, the only one I have, and one that has been verified on the platform FOR YEARS is tied up in a closed account. This is all in plain text in the case, by the way. All they have to do is scroll up and take the 5 seconds to read what has already been done, and none of them have bothered by this point. He then "looks deeper" and concludes that my phone number is tied to another account. I explain yet again that the other account is mine, as was closed years ago so I cannot un-associate the number. He then tell me to close the account, which I then explain that THE ACCOUNT IS ALREADY CLOSED. He then concludes that my number is invalid and not supported and I need to use another number... these correspondences took 3 weeks for them to get through by the way. What should have been a 5 minute transaction required over 30 back and forth emails and took 5 members of their team to not be able to resolve. I gave up at this point. It must be nice to not have to do your jobs and still get paid. If I could leave zero starts I would.

Tip for consumers:

Stay clear.

DISCRIMINATION or What? OPPRESSION and EXPLOITATION? Or Just IGNORANCE? Tell me your judgement.
March 23, 2022

If you guys ever liked the Fiverr, it's especially because of honest sellers as me. I have drawn hundreds of portraits so far and made families, couples, kids and lonely people happy. Best quality for a low price and it was not for the money at all, I was having fun.

But I won't be on Fiverr anymore and please don't prefer working with them either. They are actually making their profit on freelancers by taking %20 of our revenues (this is too much to be fair) but have a look at this case to see their true face and how freelancers are being treated.

I've got a warning on my Gig to remove the "Simpsons" word from my Gig description. In fact "Simpsons style" is the name of the style and adopting this style is not against the copyrights act. Due to copyrights act A STYLE can't be a property of anyone! No body can have the copyrights of Manga style drawing, or Impressionism or Surrealism. This would be ridiculous. I have removed the word from my Gig title anyways, their codes which was supposed to guide me on the process malfunctioned when I was trying to fix the Gig but I have managed it. But then it appeared that still there is a "Simpsons" word in the "Gig description" but not in the Title and My Gig was removed immediately without further notifications or discussions and I have never been allowed to edit and restore it again. My access to it forbidden permanently and I hardly could get my FAQs and Description texts from Customer Support by an email. I have been working on it for years and invested lots for backlinks. I could build my own website and my own trademark easily with the money I have invested and they have cut from my revenue so far. I am very upset for it but especially for how I have been treated later.

I was not obsessed to get my Gig back, (This was a big shame on them and I can't keep working with them and risk my future investments so I have decided to built my own website) but I am surprised after I see how they ignore their faults in this case. I've just kept investigating the matter and found out some facts.

Here are the facts I have discovered about the process which took several days with 3 different support staff and lots of email traffic.

1. I am not warned and/or guided PROPERLY

2. Their codes MALFUNCTIONED in the fixing process.

3. Removing the "Simpsons" word would solve the issue in the first place. But they have tried to manıpulate me on this matter and told my drawings violates the copyrights as well. This is not true. Even if it is true, violator images could be removed not the whole Gig.

4. My Gig was removed immediately after saving the Gig so I didn't have a complete chance to make it right. They could contact me and tell me about the consequences properly. I was shocked when I saw they have "removed" the Gig and won't let me edit and restore it.

5. It is still possible to restore the Gig, by removing whatever they think against the copyrights but they don't want to do that for a reason that they don't share with me. In fact they don't have a valid reason but they want to oppress their freelancers to save from their expenses. This way is easier for them than helping freelancers to remove anything which is against the copyrights.

6. Customer support haven't actually read what I have written at all, they are obsessed with some wrong ideas on copyrights act and never want to learn or think about it. Never talked on the points which they are wrong and I am right. Never accepted their faults on this matter. Never discussed or explained my points properly. Just keep telling the same thing: "Your Gig violated the copyrights and won't be restored."

They are just ignoring these facts and never have a word on them no matter how hard I try.

By the way still there is dozens of Gigs on the Fiverr which includes "Simpsons" word on both titles and descriptions and these artists are adopted the similar styles we call "Simpsons Style" but they don't have any actions on them. (Which is the right thing because they are nor violating the act). They advice me to "report" them instead!

I am very upset. They have just wasted my time, efforts and investments on this Gig which took years. Their decision is ridiculous and don't even try to offer any valid reasons. When I try to explain this to myself, I find these words: OPPRESSION, DISCRIMINATION, EXPLOITATION. I hope these are not on their company vision and mission.

I wish the best for you my friends. Thank you for reading this post, thinking on it and for making your judgements. I have been pushed to think on very essential values humankind have after seeing their attitude. I am upset but mostly I am afraid after I saw how people can easily ignore and refuse to think and act according to moral reasons. I want to believe that we, the humanity still have some unique and common values as WISDOM and JUSTICE.

Please contact me if you want to act on these matters as a freelancer either. We may constitute a syndicate or something.

Best Regards.
