I had tried to purchase 2 tickets to Cancun for 780$ through their app and it denied me and said "error wait a minute and try again" confused by this checked to see if I had enough money on my account for the purchase and I was charged by a company claiming to be American Airlines for 411$ which is no where near the 2 ticket price I checked my email for a confirmation of what I had purchased I had 2 emails from "spirit air" which wasn't either american air or expedia their email claimed I had been charged but then canceled my flight and I checked their website and they had never charged me so I called American Air to figure why I hadn't received an email from them and they had no records of my purchase and so I called expedia to see why they haven't sent me one considering this is the app I made the purchase through and they had no purchase history regarding my information either DONT USE EXPEDIA
IF EXPEDIA MAKES A MISTAKECYOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. I WAS CHARGED $500 For a hotel I never stayed in. The reservation was accurately canceled but the hotel still charged me. EXPEDIA ACKNOWLEGDED the mistake and still did not refund my money. Even my status as a ling time customer did not matter. They were wrong and I still lost. BEWARE!

You can get really good deals on Expedia, so I recommend to start here if you are planning a action.

I booked a "thing to do" while at port (cruise) in Porto, Portugal. I paid for 4 of us, 5 months in advance ($433!). The voucher would never render, so I didn't have any details on the excursion. I tried chat and phone call IN ADVANCE, and they said my transaction was "pending with the supplier", so that's why I didn't get the details. They could never answer "where to meet" or "who's the vendor", so we (+3 friends) couldn't attend. The help desk didn't understand (or incented to say they didn't) and said they couldn't give me a refund because I didn't attend. (BUT-- they could never give me any vendor name or meet details!). There is no way to discuss with anyone other than the "Global Escalation Supervisor" (95% sure India), and didn't offer any other way to explain -- just "you didn't go, no refund!" UNBELIEVABLE! WILL NEVER USE EXPEDIA AGAIN, and will do everything I can to share my experience with others! I had good luck with TripAdvisor, Viator -- so please focus on those options!
Worst experience with a travel agency and hotel I have ever had. My vehicle had broke down on July 28th 3 1/2 hours away from home while traveling to go camping at 9pm at night in the middle of the mountains. I was forced to book a room suddenly and used Expedia.com. I have never used them before but it seemed easy and the prices were reasonable. Once the reservation was made in the parking lot of the hotel, I went to check in and they stated they had no availability and that the dates I requested was for Aug 6-7th which there would be no reason to book a week out. I called Expedia to cancel immediately and they stated that to get a refund, they would have to submit a claim with the hotel. The email I received back stated the hotel would not offer a refund and I still had to pay the full amount for the room or I could change the dates requested but they could not guarantee pricing. All I wanted was not to pay for the room I could not use and would definitely not be rescheduling dates because of this experience. I even had to walk a mile down the road to find a hotel that had availability and still used Expedia to pay for the new hotel. I've contacted the hotel several times with no resolution except that the refund would need to be approved by Expedia and not them. Expedia made it seem like it was up to the hotel. This is my first and last experience with Expedia. I do not recommend them to anyone!
I rented a car for 23 days via the Expedia website from Europcar, Mexico City. The rental amount was US$52.51. I also purchased an Expedia Collision Damage Plan for US$264, to cover the compulsory CDW insurance requirement in Mexico. The combined cost of the rental and insurance was about the same as what I was quoted on other sites like rentalcars.com. When I went to pick up my car, I was told that Europcar doesn't accept Expedia insurance and that I couldn't rent the car without taking out Europcar's CDW. This cost me an additional USD$455! I was also told that Expedia knew that Europcar doesn't accept Expedia insurance, and that Expedia shouldn't be selling it! Why is Expedia selling insurance to consumers that won't be accepted by rental agencies?
Expedia has refunded me the US$264 I paid for insurance, but is refusing to refund the additional US$190 I had to pay for Europcar's CDW. Expedia says that "I chose to take out Europcar's CDW". I had no choice in the matter. I had to take out the insurance in order to rent the car.
Had I booked with rentalcars.com (the site I usually book through), I would have got the car for around US$310, including CDW. I did a 25 day rental in December via rentalcars.com, which cost me AUD$367. Thanks to Expedia's misleading and deceptive sales tactics, my Europcar rental has ended up costing 3 times this amount.
Expedia are scammers. DO NOT rent cars through them, at least not in Mexico.

The staff make sure that I am taken care and it is awesome, They called to make sure that I got a new flight when one was canceled and fixed a name change
They wrongfully show one price and when you select the flight they increases the price with 80%. Happened to more than 10 options I tried.
Easy to use. Lots of selection and options. My site of choice for travel booking. Only site I've used however so don't know how other sites compare.

Answer: You were lucky to get through to anyone at all at Expedia. I've spent hours and hours and hours over three days trying to get through to anyone on their customer service phone line, their chat line and their e-mail, all to no avail. They really owe their customers much better customer service.
Answer: Demand to speak to a Supervisor though you better have time because it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the Supervisor does nothing or little to nothing to resolve your concern, ask to speak to a manager. Get ready to really wait. DO NOT ACCEPT THE "WE'LL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS" When you figure out you don't matter, sit down and right a review!
