Rented car through Expedia (Fox car rental)
Flight delay and unable to pick up car due to car rental would be closed on my arrival.
Took hours on the phone while waiting for flight to cancel car rental, they even told my to call the car rental comp.
Finally got through with someone at Expedia stating they put in my request for cancellation and would get refund in 7 days. Month later still no refund. Contacted customer service and they till me I don't qualify for refund.
Don't believe the price they give you on the hotel, after all the refocus fees charged by the website, hotel said $265, my Visa was charged $315, at the hotel I was charged $40 extra as well, so makes sure you as almost $100 extra to whatever price they give you. Just absolutely ridiculous. I would never use it recommend this site to anyone. I would give it lower than a 1 if I could

I had a trip booked that had to be cancelled, I received a confirmation email confirming cancellation and indicating I had a flight credit vouched and would receive an email with the details of using it, expiration, etc. I hear nothing for 9 months when I received an email reminding me it expired the following month. However, when I went to use it, I was told it had expired 2 months ago, even after informing them of the reminder email I had just received, customer service refused to do anything about it, just stating it had expired and there was nothing they could do, it was their money now. Their mistake cost me $500.
This proved to be a nightmare for me because I booked airline tickets at what I thought was a good price on Expedia website and had to go back on the site some days later only to find something called "my scratchpad" offering best guaranteed prices. It was misleading because it only applied if you saw it within 24 hours after you booked. Who knew. So i feel shafted at seeing it in my account and not being able to take advantage of the lower price. Lesson learned. It left a bitter taste in my mouth for the Expedia.com website.
We travel alot and use every travel app and Expedia has not been dependable in describing properties I have learned to use paypal credit card to use them. This last time they said SonderHance park condo heated pool turns out it was ice bath. Screwed again by Expedia
Do not use Expedia. My wife booked flights and hotels through Expedia to attend her grandsons military graduation. She booked months in advance and paid extra for cancellation insurance. Unfortunately, we came down with a viral flu 4 days before her flight and wasn't getting better. We decided she needed to cancel. Expedia initially said no refund was possible. When we contacted Delta they said Expedia was to provide the refund. After calling Expedia again we were told that Travelgard could help us, but only if the reason for the cancellation was sickness or death in the family. That was not stated on Expedia's website or on the insurance coverage site at the time of purchase. The insurance company requires Doctor certificates, which requires additional medical fees for her, and which are not refundable. The claim for refund will then be reviewed before they can cover the claim. This is false advertising at best, or bald face fraud. My wife and I will never use Expedia again.
I attempted to book a single hotel room for one night a few days in advance. When I completed the reservation Expedia' site had changed the date and would not allow change or cancelation. I called the hotel and they said I needed to address this with Expedia. Expedia was impossible to contact and website was useless. I'll never use them again.
Program system is good but follow up customer care is not good as program soft wear.
Difficult to use and less information to choose the room and hotel. End result need to look up hotel web site to check thru. Then sometime find a good offer.
The agent told me that they will charge only the first night to my credit card and they charge the full amount. They told me the parking was included when is not!
When I talked to a supervisor the only think he can do his to cancel my reservation!

They made a mistake on their end when changes dates and when I immediately contacted them, they cancelled my booking and tried to rebook me with an additional 40 dollars per night. When I said that we just changed it and they put in the wrong dates, they didnt care its there policy and theres nothing they could do. Absolutely absurd. Never deal with them, go directly through the hotels, they give better rates anyway.
I have used Expedia to book tours in many countries and have never been disappointed. Whatever it is that Expedia and I have agreed upon has been exactly what I got. Their range of tours and more is very extensive making it a five star one stop shop.
Expedia is not always the cheapest option but the service is amazing! We've been able to book and change entire trips to Europe just by calling their call center. We've also used the expedia insurance and we recomend it very much. Also the rewards for the points you get are fair, you need a lot of points for free flight for example but they are free after all.
Expedia is great for getting a good idea of the cost of travel. You can see what the airlines are charging as a baseline. Then if you are really counting the pennies, keep searching for a better price. Sometimes you find it. Sometimes Expedia is the winner. Easy to use and you get points for continuing to use their booking site. Cancellations are easy also. Good for people with little time and patience.
This site has the worst customer service in the world. I am very displeased with the service. Literally trash and they don't even give you low prices they try to high ball you when you call... so terrible.
God help you if you use this site for a reservation and need to speak to a customer service rep.
BEWARE: I had a very BAD experience with Expedia. I would not recommend using their services for your travel needs. We made a reservation through Expedia to stay 2 nights at a hotel in Stillwater, Ok. Sadly, there was NO reservation. Expedia sent me a receipt, a confirmation, and a reminder that I had a reservation. Expedia has refused to admit they made a mistake and did not offer to help us find a place to stay for the night. There were no hotel rooms available in the area due to 4 large events taking place in Stillwater this weekend.
We booked flights with Silver Air from Key West and latter we needed to cancel & the insurance cost us 40 dollars to cover us if we canceled and found out that expedia does not tell you that you will not get a refund lol what good is buying their insurance, very deceptive and really they just stole 40 dollars from us to cover for nothing but a sham... buyer beware expedia insurance is a scam and they should tell you upfront that you will not get any refund and state their scheme, i will send my experience to the FTC as well... sad company resorting to carnival tactics.
Found a great hotel and got the flights with them from Manchester. All went well, hotel Kajatanokka was amazing and at a very reasonable price bearing in mind Finland is a very expensive country to live in. Plus the hotel is a former prison so that adds to the fun! Also booked a trip to Tallinn, Estonia that ran on time and was well worth the visit. Do go you will love it!
One you buy a ticjket, they do not send you confirmation e mail like other website (Priceline). You will only find out when you log into your account.

They really owe their customers much better customer service.
Answer: Demand to speak to a Supervisor though you better have time because it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the Supervisor does nothing or little to nothing to resolve your concern, ask to speak to a manager. Get ready to really wait. DO NOT ACCEPT THE "WE'LL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS" When you figure out you don't matter, sit down and right a review!
