EVENTBRITE - app REVIEW ( For events, mostly summer parties)
Greetings, me along with 4 other guest was suppose to attend an all white Hip Hop and R&B boat party. I attended this event a few years back and was very pleased. This I don't know what happened this years if not enough people picked our date or if the event had different organizers but it was a complete disaster! I was so embarrassed in front of my guest because I'm the one that invited them. The events location and time kept changing. Which made us pay multiple times for Taxi to the new location and when we finally got there we saw no one was dressed in white for an all white boat party because they decided to just combined it with a whole different event. Security checked and confirmed once they scan our tickets that this is our event but what happened was our event got canceled and the party's organizers decided to combine it with a whole different event. This was so disrespectful to me and my guest and it goes to show some organizers are trashy people people who care about money and not the people trying to support their event by purchasing tickets. Having said that some are good as well because the one I went to before was well put together! What a shame what these organizers but me, my partner and my friends though! We went out to enjoy ourself and trying to support a black event. We to expecting to have fun but to walk into stress. We looked silly when no one else was dressed in white but us because they are so greedy instead of just canceling point blank if things wasn't working out on their end they combined their event with a whole entire event. Me and my guess went out to buy outfits for an all white event that never happened. Plus paying cabs back & forth due to address change on their end.
I paid a total of $161 and some change for 5 tickets, also tax could have been added as well. I have yet to receive a refund. I'm thinking because security scan out tickets they are un-refundable but I only let the security scanned the ticket because once I said the name of the event they claimed I was at the correct place but it wasn't the party I paid for my partner & friends. It was combined with a whole other party. If I was properly told with an apology that the event was cancelled I wouldn't be so mad because understand things happen. They never sent an email of cancellation they just kept switching location & times. I guess it was a turn off for all the attendees because none showed up except for me and guest. I was trying to be nice gave them a chance and still showed up and I paid big time for that. With Eventbrite is base on luck. If you have a good party organizer your party would be good but if my your party organizer has poor communication skills and just cares about money you are doomed. So you can buy tickets just know it's a game of bad luck or good luck. You don't know what type of person will organize the event you paid for. You are just taking a chance.
There's an option to request a refund on the event brite app but when I try to summit the rewrite doesn't matter how much I press on summit it refuses to go through I will keep trying.
I Events price policy yes for customer service in full refund. If event is canceled or postponed but I have yet to received any refund and I have contacted the oven organizer directly from the oven right app and I also emailed the boat of America company that the boulevard was supposed to be on, but no response from either parties.
They purposely make it impossible to write an honest review after attending an event. I purchased tickets off of their website for a show called the Micro Midgets Mania Tour. This event was beyond terrible honestly. After this event I now know that Eventbrite will promote anything to the unknowing public. I always read the reviews and on this site they make it impossible to write a review after attending it! It is very difficult warn others just how bad a show that they promote is really untasteful and a waste of money! This show that we ended up going to was a joke and not in a good way. We arrived at 6 pm because it said on the receipt 6-10. We stood in pouring rain from 545 pm to 620. Doors opened and we were shocked by the security at the event. It took several minutes just to get through it. Then we waited in a small room for another hour bored to death. They mistakingly took us down the stairs once at around 720pm thinking that they were ready -but ended up making everyone go back up and wait longer upstairs longer. They were not nice about it either! By 755 we still were unseated. At 8pm we learned that if you paid for a General Admission seat you are not allowed a seat. It didn't matter that the little- tiny room was almost empty still at that time. At that point we just wanted to sit in an empty booth because we ordered a bunch of food and wanted to sit and eat. Turned out that the event promoter was saving any open seat to pick and choose himself who to allow to sit. Since the food wasn't even edible it turned out to be NBD we just left it. Not a great start but we were still excited for the show to start thinking things could turn around! Then the show began, and we were immediately ready to leave! It was that bad. Everyone around us felt the same way and they were commenting amongst one another. It wasn't something that you could just tough it through we just had to plan an escape hoping not to be too obvious because we were with a big group. Turns out that they all left right after we snuck out for the same reasons. We forced ourselves to stay until the first event ended. I should also add the fact that the Event promoter was beyond crude, and he was rude to everyone-his performers & the general public as well. It seemed like he thought he was a real big shot it was bizarre. The show was very low class, filled with unnecessary profanity and hatred & overall the lack of talent was shocking to us. Zero acting skills, terrible plot & if you are expecting any athletism you will be disappointed there isn't any wrestling. I wish that I could think of something good to say about this venue, but I truly cannot. I gave it 1 star too many to tell you the truth.
Go Elsewhere people heed the warning.....
ticket purchase
Purchased tickets for NLE Choppa show on sep 12th for a show set to take place oct 18th. Day of the show I get an email letting me know the show was cancelled and to reach out to the organizer to get my refund issued. I was given a phone number to text to leave my name and I would be recieveing my refund in a few days as stated by the event organizer. Eventually a week, week and a half had passed and i contacted the organizer again asking the status of the refund and he told me they had already been issued. I was baffled because I havent received anything AND the ticket was still in my account like I paid BUT GET THIS they rescheduled the show for december 28th so they can keep my money, NEVER issue a refund, and say the show was rescheduled. I KNOW that I would like my money back from the orginal event YOU guys cancelled. I was furious about this so i contacted eventbrite support. The lady was really nice but she informed me that she noticed the show was rescheduled and my refund HADN'T BEEN ISSUED.Not only does that make the event organizer a liar because he told me weeks ago refunds were already issued even though clearly the eventbrite staff is telling me its still pending but that means I have to go throught more weeks of run around BS.It takes them weeks to respond to your emails even before the holidays because as Ive mentioned ive been trying to get my money back since oct going on dec. This entire experience to refund 2 tickets to a show these guys scammed the artist performing out of has been an absolute JOKE. Show was booked at a park I was SO STUPID to event believe NLE would be performing there by himself even tho this same park had been used for a festival before.
I bought a valentines gift of a soap opera event at Orlando Hilton on Feb 10 for a show on the 11th. I got the ticket quickly for a show 6 weeks later and 3000 miles west. There was only one choice on the screen. I spent 138 dollars I tried calling immediately no answer went to their website where it said to respond with card info and venue for a refund and it bounced back. I called and called no answer they have phones answered by a recording telling you they Eventbright do not answer the phone. I found the website and it said no refunds. I was sent the wrong ticket. I called the Hilton in Orlando left a message with the event coordinator who has not returned my call I called the Hilton again Sunday morning asking them to contact the event organizers to see if she could still use the ticket. Rep put me on hold then told me to go to the website got a refund where it said no refund he hung up. My wife of 32 years was very disappointed. I was furious once the show started at noon on Sunday the link with the Event organizer opened I had a name and a company late the night before did a call to my bank and disputed the charge. I called the company that I will not mention and left my name and number. I called the FTC and filed a formal complaint for fraud. I sent the event org an email with all the info and lo and behold Monday morning received a call and an immediate refund. To their credit they are a 5 Star company they use eventbrite software and had for many years with no problems. I explained what had happened Funny thing there were tickets available my wife could have gone but eventbrite took it upon themselves to do nothing. They did not pass on information they did not contact the event organizers but they put all the blame squarely on them. I had used this site to advise the event organizers of the guy in British Columbia that night New Years Eve tix for there but got tix for Washington DC. Dont give up dont wait months take action you do have a recourse Your bank card the FTC. Your states attorney generals office and consumer affairs. Make a formal complaint. Fight back they may not talk on the phone but they will respond to the FTC OR State make the politicians work for us. Long story to an end it was refunded immediately. Yeah they can do it. Make them accountable
Myself and at least 50 others signed up for Pub Crawl, here was the breakdown and the problems:
1) no signature cup-- it was a plastic cup from the Dollar Store worth. 10cents,
2) 1 free drink at the first bar (well liquor only)
3) the 2nd & 3rd bars had no idea who were were, and why we were there, and NO free drinks or drink specials
4) no "passport" to complte
5) to "swag bags"
6) no prizes for first 100 to end the Pub Crawl
7) no costume prizes
8) worst of all - the organizer just disappeared after the 2nd bar...
9) $20 - 40 per person...

THEN, I went where they directed me to find I could not post my question/problem without a URL address for the invite - - WHICH I DID NOT HAVE -which was the entire problem- AND COULD NOT PASTE, so could not report my problem to receive the invitation for the second time! Fast forward a half hour, -since MY time is CLEARLY not valuable to these JERKS, - I posted the issue on their FB page... the only access I could find to try to remedy the problem -for a third time. Guess what? Not only did I get no reply/assistance, now, I have discovered that they blocked me from their FB page! Class act!
Below, please find what I put on their page, which obviously they did not care to respond to. The fact that this company collects THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to NOT invite the people they were hired to invite, then slaps an innocent person who is inquiring about it around - ignore, force to color between their lines in order to send a question within such restrictions a question cannot even get sent... are you kidding me? I smell class action lawsuits any moment against these shysters!
I swore that I would never leave an online review for a business but just had to warn other people about this...
In the beginning I was extremely excited to learn that a platform like Eventbrite existed for someone running a small event like myself. Most of the features were easy to understand and connect with my website.
About 3 weeks before my event I got a message ON THEIR WEBSITE saying something along the lines of "You have been accepted for the advanced Payout blah blah blah... If you do not want this feature contact us." So I sat back and waited until the 15th to get some $. On the 16th I called them and said hey I thought I was gonna get paid some $ early. The guy then informed me that I had to call and confirm I wanted advanced payout etc etc. This was very odd to me because I specifically saw on the website it said to reach out if I did not want it. Kinda weird. So anyway, I then ask him "OK well what is the process to initiate this advanced payout thing is there an application or something"? He says "No, you just had to call us." OK... He then tells me that I will be receiving an email with more details and that the next advanced payout happens on the 30th. He clearly said the "15th and 30th"... Fast forward two weeks to my event(s). Held on the 29th and 30th. At this point I decide to allocate pretty much every dollar to my name to staff, marketing, food, facilities, etc knowing that I am going to have the money payment initiated on the 30th. Well that didnt happen on the 30th. So I call on July 1st, the girl that picks up then proceeds to tell me that the payouts are on the 15th and the 1st. Im like uhhh OK thats not what the other person said but no big deal just send me the money. She then dances around my questions for like 10 minutes until I finally get her to stick with one response that "Because my events have already happened I cant get the advanced payout feature on the 1st" So because she sounds like a nice person or just very good at acting clueless I dont freak out. Even though I literally have no money because of the costs of the event. I also explain to her that I owe 5 different people money for working the event and she recommends "Just apologize as much as possible to them". Ha. Long story short... just make sure they send you something confirming they will pay you on the day they say so you dont end up like me two days before 4th of july weekend with zero dollars.
