I got sick from a 21 dollar order placed last night. They refused to refund me. They have now lost hundreds to thousands of dollars of money this year not to mention next year and the following years due to this incredibly poor decision making.
DoorDash has been stealing money. Authorizing them to buy food does not authorize them to take more than what was bought. See my receipt. I was charged $92.75 for the food, but the food only cost $51.24.
Their service personnel states they get to keep the extra due to company policy.
Ordered through a reputable franchise with a combo of gift cards and credit card.
It was confirmed that driver picked up food by franchise manager, but driver cancelled due to emergency.
Only credit card balance was refunded but gift cards are gone to a tune of $75.
Door Dash customer service said there is nothing they can do and it's all on the franchise.
Food was stolen by a Door Dash employee period; and there is no compensation. Door Dash said they would send me an opportunity to write a review…. Really.
False advertising, horrid service, atrocious accuracy, rude drivers and customer "service", unethical, criminal and just trash! They can steal your money in less than a second but somehow it takes a week to refund your money. I have zero respect for anyone associated with this dump.
I use door dash a lot and was a premium account holder as well. 1 out of 3 orders has an issue and they range from being 45 minutes later than estimated, being picked up and delivered at the same time (with no actual delivery made), things going to wrong doors, wrong orders showing up, missing items that dasher didn't grab, etc.
The only thing in common is that everytime I get the worst customer service outsource I've had since the one prior. They accuse me of not looking hard enough or giving the wrong address and totally ignoring the chat I spent so much time trying to type up so they can read it and understand the issues. Furthermore, the resolution is almost always a refund after 1.5 hours of waiting for dinner... so now I to find dinner again.
I have already cancelled my subscription and will now be fully deleting door dash but I do look forward to their demise.
Doordash only has to do one thing - get food to customers on time. They are obviously completely useless at it. My first Doordash order - I waited two hours for them to deliver a single item, a burrito from a Mex restaurant that is, at most, 2km away. Extraordinarily, the deliverer used a car, not a bike, therefore had got stuck in Sydney lunchtime traffic rather than being able to cut through it - unlike any other delivery firm. Never again.
Order never received, restaurant confirms it wasn't delivered, and DoorDash won't even call the restaurant. Decline refund workout investigating. Say they'll call you back in 24-48 hours but have contacted them every few days for over a week about the same issue. Still nothing. I'm pretty sure it's a scam
Seriously, STOP charging people's credit cards until after delivery. I have lost so much money on this horrible service. You're quick to charge a card without a guarantee of delivery. Some people can't wait 5-7 days for refunds. I'm switching to Grubhub. They respect their customers. Everyone, I would suggest you use ANY other delivery service than door dash.
Downloaded app and signed up.first time Ordered $60 worth of food only for it to be taken to the complete wrong address.and I gave the right one. Driver wouldn't answer or return calls. Contacted customer service to be told they can't do anything because too many compensations had already been done on my acc but this was my first ever time using the app. Absolutely disgusted that's company can do that to it's customers. Will never use them again.
Can't get English speaking operators. Usually from some Spanish speaking country or middle eastern. How about hiring people who can speak well and understand. Most just say I'm sorry for your issue they read off a script most of the time. How hard is it.
At first door dash started out to be good but their fees are so high it's not even worth ordering using their app. During the pandemic times in early 202 they said free deliveries. We didn't get $#*!. This company needs to learn to be honest and really deliver some kinda value to its users.
We keep giving them another chance, not sure why. Multiple consecutive orders have been wrong, late, or confirmed and never delivered. They also do not empower customer service to employ real resolution, and have an extremely poor escalation process.
I placed an order then went outside and waited till around twenty minutes after app said they right around the corner. They never showed up but driver reported that it was delivered. So refund can take up to seven days
Shake Shack is 5 minutes by bike from my apt. The Shake Shake receipt showed order filled at 747. It was delivered at 820 cold fries, burgers, melted shakes. I called Door Dash and was offered $10 coupon. I said I wanted $41 for the meal. Got nowhere. Asked to speak to supervisor and told one could call me in 24 hours. Useless outfit. Have had trouble in the past as well. Do not recommend them.
DoorDash made a delivery today to my 75-year-old immunocompromised husband and me. There were two people in a very small car, neither one of them had a mask on. When I said "I wish you guys would wear a mask," the young woman laughed at me.
Won't use them again.
The only good thing about DoorDash is their new feature to pick up packages and deliver them but otherwise it's a total scam. I tried ordering chipotle- shift it's and almost nothing extra. Just two burrito bowls came out to almost $59. How the f does that work? To top it off I've had my orders stolen twice and these guys give me $#*! for it because it happens 'too often". Don't waste your time or money. I also ordered $100 worth of food only to receive a plate full and when I tried talking to DoorDash about it they refused to help me so I had to go through apple support to get help. These guys are just robbing people. It started out great but became a $#*!ty site real fast
I ordered dinner from Applebees...There was an honest error when the delivery guy showed up to deliver...He knew that doordash only accepts card payment online yet a mistake was made by us and he was paid $55.00 cash for our Applebee's order of $52.00...He said he did not have cash on him to give back change for $70.00 so he got $50 plus $5 in quarters and he left with the money...He knew it was not a tip because I told him to keep the change...I made a complaint to Doordash who said they will investigate but had no option to refund me my cash...Wicked and dishonest workers...I tell you, if i do not get back my money, that guy will lose 10 times more that i lost tonight for dishonesty.I call it Karma... Will never order doordash again...MD
Ordered was delivered at the wrong address - somewhere else, not even near! Drivers are non-English speaking people - your order most likely will grace someone else's table. Next to impossible to talk to anyone and get the refund - horrible company!
If I could give a negative 100, I would. Doordash tried to blame a local restaurant for something that is clearly an issue with their drivers and refused to refund a meal I had to toss out due to it being 2 hours late. When I requested to deactivate my account, I got hung up on. Then I got transferred to 3 different departments before they sent me to the correct one and was finally able to delete my account an additional hour later. I'm furious. Just use Uber Eats, y'all. Much better, seamless service and it's honestly a better developed and more efficient app.
I'd give a -10 stars if I could. We've never gotten a delivery out of the dozen orders we've placed without having to chase the driver around the apartment complex because they have no idea where they're going 100% of the time. Do your drivers know how to freaking use GPS?! And today we got nothing at all! Seriously, don't use it.

Answer: First, DoorDash collects a tip BEFORE you get service. I always tip, so should you. Ubereats lets you tip AFTER you get service - better. Caveat - getting your tip back from DoorDash for bad service is almost impossible.
