DEAL OR NO DEAL
August 5, 2020

So let's just say Craigslist is one big gamble. You never know what you're going to get. But as long as you can read people via messages then you should have good experiences. I would reccomend this website to anyone who needs to save some cash.

It's been a few times I've applied for a dozen times for jobs on this site. It's just a waste of time filling out app and resumes. Not even one calls/email return. It's like there's no respect anymore for at least respond saying "Sorry, we're not hiring at this time." "Thanks for applying but looking for someone who's..." Something so simple like that can really change how I see company looking to hire. Just a bunches of people who's wasting my or other people's time. I hope somehow that'll change. So sick of that crap. What's the point of applying online when no one on there doesn't respond to your application.?

5/21 I used Craigslist to find a local mover. It worked out excellent! Not only did Larry show up 10 min. Early, he and his partner worked fast and efficiently. I would recommend Budget Moving Service in Grand Rapids. I wish I could go on his ad and rate him there instead of doing it this way.

I conducted an "accidental experiment" on rental house search and took my time to verify the public records of each property, check the owner's identity, usually cloned by the scammers, contact the real state company who actually managed the property and, to my surprise, the prevalence of the known "Nigerian scam" is absolute. Of the 37 ads on my sample, all were scams (which I reported to the FBI). Too bad: in 2016 I used the platform to find the house I live now and it was true-to-price.
Transnational Criminal Organizations are taking advantage of the American housing crisis and this problem won't go away. Craigslist should not be used for house or car searches.

I have bought and sold many things on craigslist. One really has to be on the lookout for scams because. If you are trying to sell a product or service then competitors will flag the hell out of your ads just so you get removed.

Let's face it though. It has a terrible interface. There are a lot of really strange people on there and it can be brutal to those who don't know what there doing. Yet, it is pretty much the only game in town as far as internet classifieds

The rooms/shares in NYC are a joke. Some people have 8-12 ads for the same apt, -- look at the Galley and you see the same picture time after time on the same day. I just got prank emails for my new posting, and I got it removed apparently because some sensitive soul "flagged" me for wanting a certain gender (but my wife is not comfortable with a strange male). No explanation given. Just gone. This is not an apt rental -- it is an apt SHARE -- and by making me write a neutral ad all those males who think they have a chance end up wasting their time writing. I can discriminate all I want with respect to someone living with us and sharing our bath and kitchen, and the federal laws do not apply here. It would be only if I were renting the whole apt to someone that these issues are relevant. My guess, too, is that some advertisers flag others to reduce the competition for their own ads. CL simply sucks now.

Asked why my listing was deleted and got nothing but immature insulting answers! Who ever The Bottom Line is should be fired! He makes assumptions and shoves them in your face. I'm 55 years old and can't believe I have to text with what seems to be a child that wants to feel like he has some kind of power or something? I guess it's just a big ego he has because he thinks he has an important job? His first answer to me was: How many ads are you not posting to by-dealer. What the hell does that mean? He asked a question and didn't answer mine? Instead of answering: if you list too many listings, someone will think your a dealer and delete your listing. If I sell something for 10.00 on Craigslist and I meet up with someone and they buy my item, what does being a dealer on not matter? By the way I'm not a dealer! Also they said I have over 200 listings. I only have 20 listings! Please get some more reliable people on the texting and tell them to help not insult someone! Very disappointed.

Craigslist
July 19, 2023

I give the site 5stars. It is helpful in getting straight. Just some of the renters play others property. I had an experience in Atlanta where deputies searched my room saying they had a warrant for someone from 2016 and it was 2023. I believe those guys in that home were not for people succeeding or there well being. Those
Deputies didn't even search upstairs which was odd the 1st chance I got was 1 way out of Atlanta.

If you want to get something second hand or sell it, this is the best venue for accomplishing that. I've sold lots of things that I would have been inclined to throw out, but it seemed like somebody would want them, and they did. Not everything sells, but I'd estimate I've sold 80% of what I've listed. It's not like you're getting top dollar, but for a small effort, you're getting some $ and you're not filling up a landfill. I've bought things as well and gotten what I expected.

Personals are a whole other experience. I thought I was looking for a relationship, but I'm just finding scams for my credit card posing as Age Verification and safe "dating" sites... and hookers, yep hookers, ya read that right. I haven't put up an ad myself, but checking the "Women seeking Men" section, most posts are trying to steal your credit card numbers and some are simply soliciting. If you're looking for love, try elsewhere.

Great place to find things locally, I have successfully bought and sold here. But be careful! People can be dishonest and Craigslist does not guarantee anything (how could they they don't charge). Treat it as if you were responding to a paper add in the newspaper or posted in a public place.

I've had my ups and downs more of a mutual agreement on it. I've bought and sold cars and other equipment. Selling is a lot harder then it seems if you sell something that's lets say 50$ lower then retail people will still try to talk you down even if there getting it cheaper then any where else. You have to stand strong and firm on your price. I've had bad phone calls over cars for sell threatening and harmful ones not relating to your product not sure why. I've also had prank calls so its more of a anything can happen situation website.

I usually surf this site 1-2 times a week just to see what's out there. At 1 time I furnished my whole 1st apartment from here. Now I own a home so they really come in handy now.

I got a Vizio 52 inch flat screen tv for $300, you cant beat that at Walmart. It's just a great place to find stuff, even free stuff like hangers, desk and stuff like that.

Craigslist has proven itself to be a huge danger to both humans and animals. It is loaded with liars, scammers, cheats, puppy mills and backyard breeders. This site has a list of what is prohibited BUT all posts are entered. There have been people murdered who have answered ads on this site. Anyone that purchases anything from Craigslist is taking a huge chance at being ripped off at the least.

I paid for to post photographer model posting for hire like everyone around the United States is allowed to do yet the Post is held for review and then flagged/removed without ever going live online. The only response I get is an email asking to not post my model ad which is very unfair as there was nothing bad in my ad at all.

I'm pretty happy with CL. I've only run into one scammer, and it actually turned out to be the person who stole my uncle's scooter (so we actually ended up getting it back).

I mostly stick in the free section, and I've found tons of hidden gems among the items that most of the people are practically throwing away. I found an almost brand new desk, a great bookshelf, and tons of books.

We got evicted and had to move a few months ago, and in the few months of living in our new house I've completely refurnished my new room with stuff in great condition from Craigslist. I really like this site.

Is anyone sick and tired of Craigslist? They no longer have any staff that actually answers questions, offers assistance if there is a problem and uses auto responders for everything now. They leave the entire website open to forums that are supposed to be there for other users to help with questions. Problem is, there are a bunch of extremely abusive idiots that hang out in forums 24/7. They run in packs, mock and abuse posters that ask questions. I have actually read on other sites about this vary thing. The CL staff actually thinks this is funny! I find it sick! I guess you get what you pay for... nothing! I'm going back to Ebay!

Craigslist used to be a great place to list things for sale, etc. But now it's full of scam-bots. There are better places to sell stuff including Facebook Marketplace, Nextdoor, OfferUp and many others. Don't waste your time with Craigslist. It's time has come and gone.

Craigslist is AMAZING when it comes to finding last second tickets to phenomenal concerts and things of that nature. You are putting trust into humanity when working with Craigslist, though. I have heard stories of individuals going to pick up what was advertised and they were mugged or worse, but these are few and far between. I have had great encounters with people, and have been able to get some amazing things along the way!

Craigslist never ceases to amaze me. It just works, and it's free for almost everyone (unless you consider the demise of US newspapers a cost - just kidding, sort of). In the last month I rented an apartment, bought a desk, and sold concert tickets all on Craigslist completely painlessly. Got to love it.

Great website to find work, items your looking to buy, or other classifieds. This website I have used to sell items, give away items, or look for jobs and has worked for me in all three ways. The only issue with the site is that there are a lot of false postings and you need to be careful what you post, how much information you give, and really consider if you are making smart and safe decisions.
