About 7 years ago I when I had a Verizon LG cell phone and Cox was my internet provider I was moving borderline out of Cox territory. The Cox rep told me if I drop Cox internet I could not get email on the cell phone. I was naive, gullible, and under informed so I kept Cox. WRONG! I recently found out through Verizon they have nothing to do with Cox and I never needed Cox for phone internet. I contacted Cox about this and my 7 years of payments for nothing. They put me through a 5 step process for a refund that lasted 10 days and included a refund claim form number they generated. It was a totally bogus process to try to get me to give up. Ultimately, just yesterday Cox stonewalled me on the phone. Forwarding my complaint to CT Dept Consumer Protection for guidance. Amount lost > 900.00. For real.
Cox Communications is a direct portal to Hell and once they have their hooks in you…believe you cannot extricate yourself from their greedy claws. I have been a customer for decades, bundled with TV, phone & internet service spending literally thousands of dollars annually. Over these decades, every time we experienced a "problem" with their service…they send some technician over to replace cable. Look at the photos, my house has 50 miles of coaxial hanging off it…literally! The workmanship and shortcuts taken are abysmal. So last year when I was planning to replace my roof and fascia, they sent a guy out who said we could rip out all the cable hanging off the house (and inside cable too) and run a single short line into the house and run everything off WIFI…no charge. It would take an hour or two at most. However, it rained constantly that Fall season and our project had to be postponed. So I contact them today to schedule this and now they tell me the want $100.00 for the work. Now maybe I'm just in a mood or maybe Cox has become ridiculously greedy but this bovine excrement FEE just infuriated me to my core and compelled me to choose to remove Cox from my life. Their service has been problematic all along anyway, regular outages and shutting off service cuz we missed a payment date by a week. See what should be their logo in the attached pics. Cox Communications sets the Customer Care bar so low…you need a backhoe to find it. So I am now cutting the cord, ripping all their cable (that hangs like thick spaghetti) off my home and getting a competitors service and television apps (which I use more & more anyway (cuz there's nothing good on Cox TV ever) and the savings will more than pay for the change. If you don't have sufficient grief in your life…Cox is there to provide it. If you wish to remove grief, cut the Cox cord like me. They do not deserve any customer loyalty. They do not care about being loyal to those stupid enough to stick with them despite their miserable service, dumb policies, poor workmanship, outages and added fees. Cox sucks. If they sucked any harder, they would create a black hole and drag all of humanity into oblivion.
Absolutely terribly quality of service every day. Constant outages and when it isn't out, the ping and quality are absolutely awful. Makes it difficult to do much of anything, which is problematic when working from home.
At least 1 weekend every month my speeds go from 180mbps down to less than 1mbps down and my packet loss goes from 0% to averaging 15-20%. I can count on Cox to deliver the worst speeds at least 2-4 days straight a month.
I went to open the History Channel app to watch a new show. It wouldn't open. A message appeared that it had to be deleted. I deleted it, then searched Cox for the History Channel app replacement. There was none. I called Cox. They told me they were deleting apps such as History Channel. I don't know how many others they have deleted without announcements or replacements. Pay more. Get less.
Misleading and rude customers service!
They even said, you keep calling them!ofcourse because you are a customer service for God sake and customers have issues that's why they keep calling!dumb $#*!!
In September 2022 we spoke with Fredrico in the Loyalty Department at Cox. We were told that we would have our rate guaranteed at $193.31 for two years. Recently, our rate went up to $202.66. I called the Loyalty department and Spoke with a rep and then his manager, Joe (ID XRXGOLRA). They both said that what we were promised in September is not guaranteed, since it was a verbal agreement. We are so fed up with these lies that we are in the process of completely getting rid of our Cox TV and internet. Also, the sound on all of the tvs connected with Cox will stop playing for a few seconds regularly, every day.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I ended my connection and they closed my account then months later said I still owed money. When I went to pay the app wouldn't open my account because it was closed and they weren't taking payments over the phone but said they'll contact me later. They never did then sent my $8 outstanding payment to collections lol.
Don't waste your time don't waste your money. They have been horrible since my grandmother had their tv service in the 80s and they are horrible now. I've tried them in 2003-2005, and 2017 to present. Total garbage. If I had another option I would use it.
They just reformatted their webmail, which made it so much worse to use. There are multiple problems with it including an inability to delete more than one email at a time. There is unbelievable cacheing both with webmail (especially when waiting to create a new outgoing email) and with the internet in general. In the past several months, they seem to be experiencing problems with outages or service disruptions. The service is terrible and it shouldn't be. They've been around long enough.
Horrible customer service from a horrible company the only reason that they implemented data Was so that they could take advantage of the American people That were forced to work or do school from home during the covid pandemic shows just how scandalous and petty they are
Was told I could have extension on my account for internet services for 3 more days then make payment BS they turned it off as soon as I got off the phone lies very unprofessional an they say there here to help lol lol.
Cox customer service or lack there of is the absolute worse! These people don't listen and don't know anything. I just canceled my service because I never got a modem and the hold wait time was ridiculous but I waited and then they hung up on me 3 times! Seriously? So I tried the chat, even worse. These people are clueless. They do not understand anything! I tried explaining 5 times that I never got the equipment and they still didn't get it and yet they want to charge me when they never sent the equipment! Unbelievable. Where do they find these people and why aren't they trained properly? They are a bunch of idiots!
I wouldn't give the 1 star that's how incompetent these people are but they don't let you give a review without rating them!
PSA about Cox cable. Terrible service! I had a trash truck knock the cable lines down, the lines are laying on the ground across my yard and fence, earliest appointment is 3 days out. Probably going to switch providers.
Follow up - Cox confirmed appointment, and showed up an hour and a half later. When he arrived he never spoke to me, hooked up a line and left, NEVER SAID A WORD TO ME. My service is still down, after 5 phone calls I finally canceled my service and was told I was going to be charged $30 to cancel and have to send my equipment back. I signed up for Dish Network and got better tv and internet for a lower price. I recommend dumping Cox now. I wouldn't get there service if it was free
I'm a tech junky who streams through my pc daily, I get speeds around 250mbs with 15 or lower ping IN-GAME. Cox had me switch to the panoramic modem to "upgrade" my plan, little did I know I would then get internet speeds by the Kilobyte and go through 4 of these panoramic modems in the span of 1 week and about 18 hours of on-the-phone "technical support" to try to fix the internet speed, to no avail. Currently switching back to my 3rd party modem but dealing with Cox support has been eye opening. The employees I spoke with were scrolling through Reddit threads to find an answer, (as if I hadn't already done that before calling support) the level of experience their technical support is at is elementary and laughable. This company has been horrible to work with.
Cox is terrible and its the only option for internet in my area. Theres at least 1 "random" outage every day and the hotspot woifi never works. They never give customers refunds for outages and the price keeps going up every single year. 100mbps internet shouldnt cost more than $30 a month but cox charges $50 a month which is highway robbery
Again, no... just... NO. Cox is the universally worst communications company in the world. (F. Y. I if anyone knows how on the east coast you call is hardee's and on the west coast it's called Carl's JR even though they are the same company, same thing here, COX and Comcast are the same people) WORST COMPANY EVER!
I paid for landline service. It cost $100 to set up (Flick a switch). Now i've gotten over 100 robo calls at all hours of the day. Tried to cancel my phone service and COX says to pay $150 for a disconnect fee. So now I am paying to have robocallers call me at all hours of the day, and if I want it to stop, it will cost me $150. COX IS A SCAM!
Now it shows there's an update and an outage after trying 2 hours with customer support and calling! Would have been nice to know before trying to contact you and get no where and calling and getting no where! Worst customer service ever! AT&T has better customer support and service! If I could go back I would but unfortunately I don't get their services anymore. Worst customer support! Worst service! Worst prices!
Last time you sent a technician to my house the poor guy climbed up to the line, couldn't find nothing wrong. Then Cox called him and said there was an outage! I waited two days and then he climbs up there and there was an outage on your end the whole time. And you charged a tech fee! Then I wasn't prorated for not having any service for days! If I had an option I would go elsewhere but I don't!
This has been the worst. I don't even have cable and they charge a lot. The internet never works and when we re connect it takes forever or always fails. Not worth it!
