The site is very conservative. More like a Dr. Weil site. Unless the data is confirmed in a sufficient number of subjects with top flight empirical controls, then it is not true. I do understand the null hypothesis that says because it has not yet been scientifically proven, it is definitely false. But I prefer a bit more thought. So, when I want the most conservative view, I look at Consumer Lab. And then I look at other sites with more analytical view. For example, "If we know that NAD+ levels drop with age. And we know that an NR supplement does improve NAD+ levels in the blood. And we know that Sirtuins are critical for cell functioning, but cannot function without sufficient NAD+. It seems likely that NR supplement will contribute to good cellular heath. We see that in many species from yeast to rats, but we still do not have sufficient hard data on humans to make that call." That thoughtful approach is missing.
This is my go to most trusted, science based source for supplements and vitamins. It's so vital with all the hype about these and the fact there is really no government oversite, which makes this resource so vital to anyone who wants the best unbiased information
Thank you for that nice review, Steve. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support.
I have subscribed to CL for many years. It has been a constant source of up to date credible and educational information. CL provides links/footnotes to it's sources. There are no testimonial or slanted opinions. CL is clear and concise. As a nurse practitioner, I appreciate the detail and science. I have recommended CL to my family, friends and patients. Another plus: NO ADVERTISEMENTS!
I often go to ConsumerLab to get reviews of products I want to buy. I rely on their knowledge and process for analyzing products and feel confident in buying their "Top Picks". Well worth the annual membership!

I am a registered dietitian nutritionist and use Consumer Lab to review the latest on dietary vitamin, mineral and herbal supplements. I use it consistently as a reference personally and when counselling others. I highly recommend it.
Thank you very much for sharing that, Kitty. We are delighted that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support!
I have been a subscriber for many years and trust the information they provide. I follow their recommendations and have recommended them to others. I think they are providing an important service and doing an outstanding job.
We appreciate your trust in our information and take that responsibility very seriously, Judith. Thanks for your review.
I have belonged to ConsumerLab.com for several years and it is so very informative on so many levels for supplements, and health problems. I go to it to find the best rated product I can find, knowing I will be getting all of the main ingredients touted for such and also the safest ingredients. I also appreciate the warnings available in the research so that I can choose what will work best for me and my personal life.
Thank you very much for sharing that, Peg. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
I sometimes see items on you prime choice picks that are not easy to find or do not exist. Case in point, anything made by Rexall. I finally found that Rexall is through the same company that owns Dollar Store. But I could not purchase your 1st choice. Can you include a link to purchase items like LabDoor does?
Please test more choices of each product. Looking at Amazon can help you narrow your choices if you look at the number of purchases of particular items.
I enjoy this website and the information it provides. I use it extensively to research supplements and new findings! Don't know what I did before this other than rely on manufacturer labels and literature.
Thank you for that nice review, Belinda. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support.
I have relied on ConsumerLab to provide me with reliable information on nutritional supplements. Their reviews are detailed and thorough, and they give me objective information about supplements that is difficult to find elsewhere.
Thanks for letting us know, Joseph. That's exactly why we are here.
Normally I do not get into the scientific specifics but rely on the extensive testing and reviews done by unbiased professionals and their resulting recommendations. I find the testing to be thorough and complete.
We're glad that you enjoy ConsumerLab.com. Thank you for posting your comments.
I rarely purchase a supplement without consulting the Consumer Lab website. With no regulations in place to govern the validity of the content of supplements, it's pretty much a shot in the dark to know if you are swallowing the correct dosage of your supplement, free of contamination, etc. Consumer Lab provides a much needed service to its members.
I would like to see more chewable and liquid versions of supplements reviewed since I cannot swallow those large pills. I often end up to taking more pills at a smaller dosage to get to the actual dosage that is effective.
We're glad to have you as a member, Mariette! Thanks for your review. You can always feel free, as can any member, to shoot us suggestions and questions that we might answer in our CL Answers section.
I wanted to get info on Q-10 and was unable to check in to read it. Instead I get the message about paying ahead for the service. You make it too difficult to read what I am paying for. I do not like it when a company asks for payment 6 months ahead.
I am scrolling,, scrolling, scrolling only to get tiny segments of info. I can't see a complete assay of any item on one page only (like a label). This means I have to rely on manufacturers labels online. What's the point?
I love using Consumerlab.com to find the latest information impacting my family's health. Your Covid coverage has been fantastic and I have turned to your site again and again to research the latest updates. I also research any supplements that I read about elsewhere to get the real truth behind the hype and I also really appreciate your testing of tuna, chocolate and other foods for contamination and excess nutrient/heavy metal contamination, it has changed my shopping habits! Thank you!
We’re very glad to know how we have helped you, Diana. Thank you for posting your review!
ConsumerLab is my go to site when researching brands of suppliments and Vitamins. It both researches and tests various popular brands and when a brand does not have the ingrediants it claims to have, or has heavy metals in the product, they let us know. In addition, they state concerns such as the amounts people take verses what is advisable to take. Overall, they are a comprehensive site with information backed up by data that I can trust. They are my go-to site.
We're glad that you are enjoying your membership to ConsumerLab, Joanne. Thanks for letting us know.
It's much more difficult to navigate when receiving email updates. Articles require signing in and once signed in it takes whole lot of effort to locate the article. It used to point you exactly to the update. Now you need to scroll through all articles to locate the right one.
I'm very grateful for ConsumerLab. I check your product reviews before I buy vitamins, supplements, protein powder, chocolate bars. Your reviews have altered what I buy most of the time I go shopping.
That is great to hear, Denise! Thank you very much for sharing that,. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
As a life long health scientist, I have come to appreciate ConsumerLabs work to evaluate the many products commercially offered to enhance our health. Their work to bring forth the research on these substances is current and very valuable.
Thank you for that nice review, Rob. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support.
Yes, I think that ConsumerLabs is doing a GREAT JOB of analyzing herbs and supplements. I find them to be a highly valuable tool in making choices on which products to choose and having confidence in those choices. The frequency with which new ratings are available is also excellent. I have recommended if frequently to others and they have also been very impressed with the information that ConsumerLabs provides. Thank you for providing this valuable product.

Answer: There is no single best supplement or brand. It's best to focus on the type of supplement you are looking for, e.g., multivitamin, fish oil, probiotic, herbal) and read our Product Review for that specific category and see which product is our Top Pick for that category. Here is a list of our current reports: https://www.consumerlab.com/results/
