Got to know him on CMB and he claim he is american singaporean, name is Michael Lim. Mum passed away when he is 3yrs old and his dad passed away few yrs ago. Now he is on contract at kuwait when I ask him to video call or selfie he refused and said it will caused explosion at the oil rig. After few weeks he suddenly asked me to log into his bank account at www.firstcitiunion.com to transfer his money to his supplier as his server is down so he cannot access into his account but somehow he can still use his whatsapp to text me.
Of cos the transfer cannot went through and it required to send some money to a turkey bank then his transfer to supplier will be ok. I refused to send the money and he assure me once is done he will transfer back the money to me.
He can sweet talked very well and has good command of english while he whatsapp called me on the phone. He said will buy engagement ring at kuwait and come to singapore to propose to me etc etc and he think all women are so dumb to be fooled by him. Posted his profile pics and send all his pics to me on this handsome guy and he is a korean guy. His whatsapp no is *******413
Pls be aware of this Michael lim on CMB.
Had a few bites n came close but didnt catch any fish. Prefer HookupHangout if u havent tryed it. Check that $#*! out.
Scammer use photos of this man to attract woman... i'm stupid enough to fell into the scam. If anyone know this person, please let him know his photos are stolen to scam women. And to all women, don't charmed by handsome face and understanding, respectful characters. If he said he is alone, orphan, ex-gf betrayed him with his best friend, please walk away. 99.9% is scam.
CMB, please block if anyone created account with these photos or photo of this man.
I met this guy named Pexxx Wxxx in CMB last Feb. Now the same guy in the picture changed his name into Kelvin Zhang with different biography, was matched with me in CMB. Bet he is a scammer, beware.
Met this guy online and he said he was a surgeon working for UN but based in Yemen until April 2019. His name is "Evans". He quickly wanted to move the chats to another app (WeChat)
He said he has a daughter and son based in US whom is being looked after by a nurse and not his ex-wife.
He lives in HK and whilst chatting to him in February, he declared his love early on in the relationship even though we did not really chat too in-depth about anything in particular.
I started to ignore him and he got more and more desperate. I think he was going to ask me for money but I blocked him.
Please be alert when talking to him.
So it looks like this guy is still at it, ladies! Pretty much the same story -- 35, born in Cali, grew up in Sicily and the UK (apparently he thinks Dublin is part of the UK... but I digress), moved from NYC to Oklahoma City (which is way outside my 250 mile radius, btw), has to immediately go to Turkey for a business trip for several weeks. He seems wayyy too good to be true right off the bat... and he is! There are lots of little red flags -- the overly poetic language, the frequent grammar mistakes, the immense amount of cheese (for real, who says 'I can't wait to clasp you in my warm embrace' EWWWW and 'tell me you'll never leave' when I don't know anything about him), the unwarranted barechested shots (oh and he'll send you pics of himself at work, as a child, and with animals now too), answering every 12 hours and at very odd times like clockwork, and him thinking that the Republic of Ireland is part of the United Kingdom -- but I thought, hey, maybe he's a unicorn in spite of these pretty blatant flags! Oops! I should've known better ;) He will definitely ask you for money in the form of an iTunes gift card. My reaction was, 'Whaaaaaaaa can you POSSIBLY use that for? You can just top up online if you really need to download a movie'. Obviously, it's a scam and was concrete enough to solidify his true persona for me. I looked up his pics and nothing came up but I am glad I found this forum. This guy is just so, so sad. So please, ladies, trust your gut and report and block. I know there are great guys out there but anyone who makes you wonder if he's for real is 100% not. Be safe!
I really liked this dating app until i was scammed. I was scammed out of money by someone I matched with on SMB and we had been talking for about a month. I stupidly sent him money because he said he was doing volunteer work abroad and was stranded. He was supposedly Turkish American doctor based in Lake Oswego, Oregon. He has a number on google chat that he uses. He goes by Emre Ahmed. Be ware! I suggest that if you have been scammed on CMB, that you send them an email. Dating websites need to be help accountable or they should go out of business. I'm so pissed about this that I am thinking about a class lawsuit against this company. Anyhow, CMB's email is *******@coffeemeetsbagel.zendesk.com
Same story as many of the other women on here. Claims to be 35 years old. Says he is of Sicilian descent. Born in SoCal but grew up in Europe. Recently moved to Scottsdale AZ from New York. (Interestingly, his phone number does show it is from New York). Claims to be a freelance project manager for industrial solar plants. He's working on a "tender"/bid proposal and has a fast approaching deadline. Says he was previously engaged and now looking for true love. He would text at very odd hours, sometimes at midnight, 4am or 6am, again claiming to be working on his "tender." Did not get to him asking for money.
Like many others, I tried searching his photos but nothing came up until this last one he sent me of him in a suit. Seems like he has a stash of photos he recycles through to avoid being caught. Ladies please beware. I'm uploading all the photos here so if you do search him, he'll come up.
We all should open a lawsuit against the site, taking money from everyone.
There is Online Law. They can no longer get away with that.
Let get together and end this BS>
The caliber of men definitely is great, but I found the app confusing and not conducive to exchanges; in a month's membership I only had one date. When I tried to unsubscribe because of the meager results, I found the process so tricky that it took me several tries. After I finally managed, I got the receipt for the next month. When I reported the problem, I instantly got an automated response saying that I didn't have a case for a refund. Thumbs way down for that deceitful practice.
Turns out this guy is jumping ship to every free dating app; now he was on HINGE SO PLEASE PASS THIS GUY AROUND AND MAKE SURE NO OTHER LADY GETS SCAMMED BY THIS JERK! HE MAY BE ON BUMBLE TO POF OR EVEN OKCUPID!
Presents as a 38 yo from Australia who lives about ~250 miles from wherever you live. Claims to be born in California but raised in Europe. Claims to have a Masters degree and be a freelance project manager in the field of solar energy. Claims that he has a "tender" (proposal/business requirements) he is working on, that is due very soon and that is why his messages are sporadic. And... he attempts to be very smoothe but his English is broken. I didn't get very far with messaging him because I literally did a google image search to reverse look-up his photos. Be smart out there everyone... scammers are EVERYWHERE and they are worse than catfishing! -
He will be very nice and kind to you at first, then he started asking for money in a form of a ITUNES GIFT CARD VERY FAST! Met this guy back in october 2018; im redoing this review because i accidently deleted my original review; i meant to edit it.
To me this seems like a really time-consuming scam to perform, because whoever it is... they're definitely working hard to attempt to earn trust, asking lots of interesting questions that a real person might ask in attempt to get to know someone... and then I'm sure the money request will follow soon enough.
Apparently this guy is still scamming people I had one lady from this website message me that this guy was on hinge the dating app and now this guy is still scamming women like us every day please avoid this guy at all times; HE NOW GOES BY ALDEN FIERRO
This guy from Alex uses a UK number. He us obviously a scammer. He us unable to produce video of himself. Definitely a cheat. He claim he is of sweden and Singapore ancestry. Beware
All I can say is-It's a SCAM! Daters beware! Whatever you do, don't pay money. Something is fishy. My potential dates couldn't even write using proper English. LOL! Use caution. Do NOT use this dating site!
So frustrated. Tired of wasting money on this site. So done. If you get a guy that doesn't write English well. Says you "look pretty good" lol, and doesn't understand expressions like "oh dear, gotta run"... Clear sign he's a scammer. Unfortunately, can't trust any of them anymore. This latest one wants to send me money from Belgium to buy him a house. Hahahahahaha
Online dating is just a giant waste if time. That, and men are $#*!s. May have to resign myself to being perfectly content single. I am my own best company. My kids too!
I also met a Terry Wong who claims he is a surgeon serving in the military in Yemen. Good looking 42 year old male looks korean Claims his parents had passed away at a young age and he doesn't have any relatives and/or family. Then quickly moved to chatting on wechat with no picture. Sends several flattering messages daily,! I sensed the scam when he told me, he's worried about his taxes not being paid and has been accruing. Doesn't add up when his contract supposedly ends in 2 months and you're worried about the payments now? Scam! Beware ladies!
Please report him right away on Coffee meets bagel if you receive a like by this man. He will try to scam you with his charm and intellect. It is so disgusting that another human being can use the trust in love to manipulate and take from another. My heart goes out to everyone that is experiencing such disgusting behavior. Please don't give up on love, use the experience as a lesson to continue to keep your heart open to love but use your intellect to protect it.
I chatted with Terry Peter Wong, age 43. His profile location stated as Singapore, however, he claimed to live and works in oil and gas industry in Texas.
His parent died in Hurricanes years ago, very close to his grandma. He plans to bring his firm to Singapore and settle down while the oil rig is in Indonesia.
He suggested to continue the chat via WhatsApp only. He will daily greet me good morning and good night but never talk on the phone.
He stopped me to use CMB app as he became jealous over I am chatting with other men.
When he reached the oil rig in Indonesia, handphone is not allowed in oil rig. He begged me to download Hangouts and blocked me WhatsApp immediately after we started our first sentence start on Hangouts.
I managed to find out by questioning him what happened to his WhatsApp, his photo ID was removed and message was read when his phone was left in the hotel while at the same time he was texting me using palmtop in oil rig. His answer was his WhatsApp always read by itself.
He given me his fake bank account (uniontrustbn.com/asp/) without my consent. He kept begging me to assess into his bank account to check on deposit from his business partner and make online bank payment transaction to his supplier with only a drafted quotation as supporting. He given excuse that his palmtop can only use hangouts as no internet browser was pre-installed.
He also persuaded me to write email to his supplier on confirmation of purchase. I checked the name of beneficiary on internet and the company does not exist.
I am not an employee of his firm and not related to him hence refused to follow his instruction.
I had blocked his handphone number and Hangouts now.
I get one free profile to select or pass on every day? Can sekectbon others but have to buy beans? $5 for 400? That's like paying $5 per right swipe on tinder. Crazy
Have not had any luck on this app. Unfortunately I was scammed by this very good looking man Avery Fredrick, who claims to be a plastic surgeon. Comes off as shy initially. Immediately he wanted to chat on Whatsapp because he claimed he was working in Yemen helping poor medical structures in crisis. Unfortunately I ended buying him a steam card for $100 dollars so he can use it to video chat with me. He stated he couldn't video chat through whatsapp because of the firewalls and security. So he asked me to download "hangouts" where we attempted to facetime. When I saw him it looked like a pre-recorded video. We never got to videochat. He is very charming and poetic. The last red flag was when he asked me to send money through the red cross to the less privileged children from Yemen. He immediately fell in love with me and wanted to marry me. I spoke with him for about 6 weeks. He would avoid a lot of questions I would ask him. He claims to be an orphan and grew up in Delano California. He also states he has 5 year old daughter named Connie. His phone number is a VOIP number *******544. I hope no one else gets scammed by this idiot!
I am working my little butt off trying to get some dates but not much is happening. Coffee Meets Bagel has been around a long time so I figured it might be a good place to start but my buddy keeps telling me I should have gone with WeJustFit.com as it's more modern (whatever that means lol) and popular. I dont know. I've seen the ads for CMB and figured it made sense to start there. Like the app and the general simplicity but maybe he's right and it's time to switch or even double down with a couple of sites at the same time, could give me the boost I need. Oh well, onwards and upwards, happy hunting folks:-)
Answer: If they ask for money, it's a scam. Think about it. Would anyone really want to date someone who only needed money? No! That's why they come in so strong to get a strong "connection" going so you think you're more invested than just a dating relationship. ITS.A. SCAM.
