Had a credit card for years. Always paid my monthly balance, I have great credit rating. They only gave me 5000 limit. Twice I asked for a small increase and was denied. No reason given except they say we don't do things that way. What kind of customer service is that, I mean who works for who anyway?
My granddaughter lost her Money debit card, 4 transfer's 3 different countries and 20+ minutes! So frustrating, to the point that I need to find a new bank! You can't understand these reps, they talk over you and don't listen!
I had a purchase return of $2,700 credited to my account 2 weeks before the payment due date. They refused to deduct the credit from my payment and told me I would have to wait until the next billing cycle. This is illegal according to consumer banking regulations.
I have car Loan with them for 7 yrs, never done anything on the site, keep paying till the car is paid off. And i have fought with them every week for 3 months just to take Lien out of my tittle. Thank you for those " amazing and smart" telephone employees and back team staffs or what ever they call. They dont donw how to do it when it come to electronic tittle of Florida. Bought in Maryland and move to Florida. Tittle was changed 5 years ago but they freaking not know.
I would not recommend or trust this company any more.
Dealing with a Capital One "customer service" person is the most frustrating thing you will ever do in your life. It took over 4 hours on the phone with them to get my credit card activated. Save yourself the aggravation and go elsewhere.
I just realized today that Capital One is guilty of false advertisement and bait & switch. They advertise offers that claim allowances for balance transfers, but they don't actually allow it at all (NEVER customer initiated like other cc providers) during the life of an open account. You have to receive an "offer to transfer" after their underwriters "review" your account. There are no specific times and customers have no idea when transfer offers are available. The customer cannot initiate this action on their own. Further, they do not allow customers to make payments on their accounts using another credit card. This is my first time using cc's, so I'm not sure if their practices are industry standard. Either way, this is one of the reasons why I've stayed away from using these plastic traps for so long. Trickery at its worst! Big mistake on my end... never again!
I actually mostly like Capital One except for the fact that any time you make a payment of more than a couple hundred dollars they put an eight-day hold on your credit. The money will be gone from your bank account so you're in limbo and just screwed.
There is no way you can call or go online and make a payment on their credit card unless you're willing to give them access to your savings checking and money market account biggest horse crap practice I've ever seen and they are a credit card company but they won't except the debit card or credit card to make a payment. Sounds shady Business practice. Every other credit card I got I can make a payment with my debit card and pay the account off every month. They do not try to force you to allow them uncontrolled access to your personal accounts But they don't trust other banking institutions to except their payments
Banking app doesn't work right, there are no "0" on the remote deposit function - they blame it on my Apple IOS version "needs to be higher than 13.0" - I am at 15. 1. 3, try again. CS agent didn't know what to do so she hung up on me.
Capital One Dispute Dept. had me fill out 2 separate dispute forms on two different days then they denied my dispute without any opportunity to respond and correct the denial that gave a broad generic reason "lacked information" for denial after uploading 8 documents showing the service provider charged me for an add-on service that I did not select, want or knew because the website masked the fee until payment was made. Experiences with other credit card companies never did this kind of behavior. When I finally was able to speak to a dispute supervisor after speaking to two other agents who could not help me, the supervisor was rude and had no interest in helping to correct the situation, just talked over me and provided irrelevant long winded explanations until I finally gave up and decided to just end the call and my relationship with Capital One. I'm now going to use one of my other credit cards that have always done a good job correcting merchants wrong doing.
I wish ZERO stars were an option.
Because, there is nothing good to say about capital one bank after 4 years of foolishly hoping something would change or improve. Customer service rarely speaks English and is wholly incapable of assistance, other than apologizing over and over and over and over again. In an emergency situation, the definition of expedited, is when they feel like addressing a genuine problem. "Overnight" translates to 10 - 14 business days. Conversely, they are quick to deduct money from the account, but not equally fast at transferring funds to the recipient. I urge you choose another bank and keep in mind that like everything else he endorses, Samuel L Jackson only does it for a lot of money, not genuine support for the product.
What's in my Wallet? Nothing.
Capital One makes my funds inaccessible.
Capital one by far is the worst bank you can ever have a business with, absolutely nothing special about this bank, worst customer service, highest credit cards apr. No offers, they only know how to take but never give
I made a payment on Jan 1st and because they were going through "enhancements" it didn't post until the 4th! Drove my credit score down by 20 points. I talked to several people and supervisors over the last month and get a different story with each one I speak with. I'm very much rethinking keeping my card with their company, especially after reading quite disturbing reviews! It's totally unacceptable and frankly unbelievable that a company can function in this manner. Check out the CEO and I think that pretty much says it all! I'm done! Just need to put these automated charges on another card.
This used to be such a great company. I have had 2 cards with them for the past several years. Recently, the people in customer service have an accent that I quite don't understand, they talk over you and you're placed on hold for very long time periods.
I paid off one of my cards last month and contemplating closing it for good.
The only reason why I still use their credit card after 4 years of headaches is because they offer 0 transactions fee for international charges. But at the same time I constantly worry about my money with them. Their dispute system is terrible. If there's an incorrect or unrecognized charge or the merchant doesn't refund you, good luck with that. Most likely you loose your money because they make you resolve the problem yourself. I've lost money a couple times with them. So far it's been $500 for 2 cases. Their representatives are useless and give wrong information all the times like who the heck hire incompetent people working with peoples money? They don't protect you and your money, they just want you in debt with them.
Loyal customer for over a decade... had earned quite a few rewards points, but never used them for travel until June 2022. Booked a room for one night using Capital One Rewards and it ended up being a total dump despite being charged $200+ worth of points. Roach in cabinet, door wouldn't lock from outside/was missing numbers on keypad, TV remote had no batteries, smelled smokey, cigarette butts in the room. Called hotel's emergency line... no one answered, so we left and booked another room at another hotel. After booking new hotel, called Capital One and they said we needed the hotel to grant refund in order to get points back. Hotel refused. After hours on the phone and weeks later, Capital One refunded me $50 worth of points. TRASH company and service! STAY AWAY. Too many better options out there
Any out there looking for a good bank to conduct business with? Do not use capital one if looking for customer service, fraudulent purchase protection, straightforward or trustworthy. They are more worried about their high-end commercials and very well paid actors than their customers, who they hold you and your money at bay. Funniest thing, when you get sent to collections, the people are nice and English speaking so you can understand them, suddenly you are switched to thier fraud department and you cant understand the person which they wont give you a supervisor. They tape your conversation, but terminate the conversation if you record them. Capital one stands for everything i dont want. I got rid of all of thier cards including silver, walmart.com, cabelas, ect.
I've had same account since 2011, no problems. Then, a couple of weeks ago, I get a notice from Cap One they are merging with another bank. Then the problems started when my bank in Thailand did not know how to use the equipment so entered a wrong PIN number three times. I have been locked out of my checking account for 10 days, during which time I've called Cap One every day. Some customer service rep tell me my account is fine, not blocked; but when I try to use it, I cannot. One even told me she is working out of her house! Further, someone stole $350 out of my account, no vendor, no name. A scam. My advice: Do not use Capital One!
I have had both th quick silver and menards card for over two years! Never late and always in good standing! I use online app and pay my bills through online never an issue! Well I get a letter in the mail to send a picture of my social security card and I'd to them or fax it in for verification! Is this a joke. Why would I put copies of my most personal information in the mail and who faxes anymore!
My account then got restricted.
Pull my credit report for verification ask past history questions like every other system. This is total bull jerky. You don't give a hoot about your customers
Basic 800# with zero help to get you to someone who can actually assist. I've physically gone to the branch office multiple times to get something important processed and each time it's been rejected due to the branch's error, not mine. This has created a hardship on my family and unnecessary delays. Lack of accountability for staff and a hassle with no real assistance for the customer. I'm closing accounts here. Just don't deal with them.
Answer: No really I can't I mean from the very beginning they said they mailed it and then a week later when I called and they had not mailed it yet when I checked my bank they take the money out of my bank and then tell me they're going to hold the money for 7 days to make sure the money is there I think they take the customers for granted in a big bad way
Answer: From my experience, they appear to be nothing but a shady scam bank.
Answer: They offered nice rewards back It sounded more impressive than it is. Big mistake.
Answer: This is the same issue I'm having with Capital One. They make mistakes and then drag their feet and act like nothing is wrong.
