A bunch of rip offs
January 21, 2022

I bought a Mastrrcraft battery snowblower. Damn near $500 altogether with tax. It did not work. So I take it back to store for my money back. They told me they would only refund me with a CT giftcard because I opened the box and tried to use it. They also said i had no business opening or trying to use it before o returned it. Where the hell does a store get off not wanting to refund my money? I had that damn thing for 6 days and tried to use it for the first time this morning. This cheap $#*! store does not deserve anyones business. They are crooks. Ny the way after i made sure evrryone in store heard me and threatened tp go online about it the manager tefunded my money. Also i am not alowed back in store. Well $#*! You Canadian Tire. I will not shop there again and i would appreciate you refunding my CT money.

ABYSMAL online service!
March 10, 2023

I needed a ladder to fix the ceiling light so I ordered one online for curbside pickup through Canadian Tire website, hoping to save some time. I ordered before the stores opened and they said it will be ready for pickup at 11 am (opening hour). Ordering was uneventful. I got an email telling me to wait for another email before heading to the store. I waited the whole day and nothing happened. I needed to fix the light therefore I canceled the online order late in the evening of the same day and drove to another Canadian Tire store to buy the ladder. After canceling the order, it said "cancellation in progress" - which stayed the same for 3 working days. By that time my credit card has already been charged (why would they charge immediately before the goods has been picked up?) (I know this is for the online order because the charge came from "www.canadiantire.ca" instead of "Canadian Tire store" where I physically went to pay). I called CS and as usual I was put on hold for 45 minutes before hanging up. I also emailed them and have not heard for another two days (total 5 working days). I ended up calling my credit card company to dispute the charge, which was canceled immediately.

Recently My family moved to Canada from states - I was told to register our car in the port of entry if our stay extends more than 6 months.
We got safety certificate from usa before porting the ve hicle however social service office said certificate from Canada is necessary.
When We went to this Canadian tires(@wonderland road, London) we were said day light needs to be installed to our car as per Ontario standards.
We made appointment and got it fixed. When We got car after fixing we notified display screen is not visible (working but not visible) in any mode but lights on(Auto) mode.
When We asked about the issue with the engineer he said he has not seen such kind of issue before and they don't have some flash system to check the display.
When we said it's their responsibility to take the issue for consideration we got response stating "I am ready to revert the work done and take back the car"

We ended up paying around $1000 and spend around 8 hours waiting (2days fixing up other issues - attaching photocopy) to get this kind of service for the customer.

Is Customer satisfaction not an important factor for Canadian tires? Or is this kind of engineers ruin reputation of the big concern?

Can we take this legal? Or is this something we need to go dump and spend extra amount to fix the light again?

Canadian Tire and Canada Post Fiasco
January 19, 2023

On December 10,2022 I placed an order (#: **************)
With Canadian Tire at Markham Road and the 407 in Markham, Ontario for ship-to-home two packs of Catchmaster Rat Size Glue. The order was paid for, processed and approved. I tracked the shipment via Canadian Post almost daily and was surprised by the repeated postponements of delivery for no specific reason. The final entry on the tracking record provided by Canadian Post was that the shipment was sent back to the sender! Lo and behold, Canadian Tire sent me an e-receipt on December 28,2022, i.e., after 18 days of placing my order, informing me that my order is now complete. I wrote telling them that my order has not been delivered but no response was received. I wrote again and Canadian Tire wrote back acknowledging that the rat traps have indeed been returned to the store and if I do no reorder them, I shall receive a refund. Today, 40 days later they sent me instructions on how to return the ordered items which I never received and were actually returned to them by Canada Post! I am still wondering why Canada Post refused to deliver the shipment and how come Canadian Tire informed that my order was completed when in fact the ordered items were sent back to them. I am also still waiting for a refund and worried about mice partying and multiplying in my basement. Both Canadian Tire and Canada Post deserve a zero for efficiency and consumer relations.

I am very disappointed at shopping at Canadian Tire. Their online and store data doesn't match for their sales items, no updates after a week after.
Last week, i was pretty happy to see Canadian Tire had a big sales on tires. I went online and saw there are enough quantities and varieties to choose from. I went to the Queensway store. The associate persuaded me to choose Motomaster winter tires instead of what I was trying to purchase Certified Winter tires. Eventually I told him to get 4 of Certified (which showed online - 4 available) he went in to check and after he said they only had 3. He said I could try the other locations, which no one answered their phones. So I got home to place the order online, then next morning, I received an cancellation email from Canadian Tire without any reason.

This week based on their websites and flyer, their sales continue. So I went to the store for a set of 4 on Continental (which are showing 11 in stocks in Queensway store, 24 in Dixie/Dundas, even 4 Certified is still showing on their website). I was told they have no more in Queensway location. I went online to place the order from Dixie/Dundas location. After a while, the order was cancelled without any reason.
Don't get tricked.

Today, Thursday, October 19th, I bought an Air Fryer from Canadian Tire in Eaton Centre and employee named Rogers really helped me choose the one item I wanted easily, and he was very friendly and helpful and patiently explained the information I needed. I am really grateful to Rogers.

Unfortunately for me, I placed an online order to the CDN Tire in Rockland (as that location was the only store with this product). Upon arriving for curbside pick up, I waited 20 minutes for a staff member to show up. He did not have his barcode scanner, as a result, he manually wrote down the items. Needless to say, I did finally receive my purchased items. That young man was very nice/polite. Some of the items were not to my liking, so I went into the store to return them. The Cashier Paula, rude, unhelpful, minimal Customer Service skills if any. First, she accuses me of opening the package, I explained to her that I moments ago picked up this order as-is. She once again stated that she cannot refund me because I open the package. She basically called me a liar. The next issue arose because the young man servicing the curbside did not have his scanner, and therefore did not close the order, meaning that no refund is possible until the order is closed, and here is the kicker, none, not a Supervisor, Manager knows how to close the order, and that I would have to travel 1 hr. Back to the store to have the issue resolved. Unfreaking believable. I am now at my boiling point. Only with my persistence was this fiasco rectified. There is much more, but I will leave it here.
If the option of 0 stars was available, it would apply here. The Managers, Supervisors, and staff, all need to be re-educated and taught how to service customers, who without they would not exist.

Many, many years ago, Canadian Tire was our go to store. However, I refuse to shop there any more. Firstly, the quality of their products is really poor. For example, I bought a 100 ft Yardworks heavy duty garden hose with the double braided radial reinforcement whose outer casing cracked within the first year of use. It was stored inside during the winter so the weather cannot be to blame, it cracked during summer use! Our MASTER Chef Prime 4-Burner Propane Gas BBQ Grill had such poor quality grills that they bent towards the flame during the first use causing the food to be up against the flames. It was a cheap BBQ, but I expected it to function at least for the first year or so. Our last experience was the worst yet; we bought a Raleigh Huck Dual Suspension Mountain Bike, 21-Speed, 29-in for our son that was put together by the store in order to support their warranty. However, the second time he used it, the chain got caught up in the gears causing him to crash. When he tried to get it fixed, the store told him it was not their fault and that it worked when they tested it when it was put together. He's been trying to get a response from Raleigh to no avail. Canadian Tire's no returns policy puts the risk onto the purchasers for faulty products. It is no longer a store that I can trust and chose to not shop there any more. Buy at your own risk!

I recently order 2 power bars from Canadian Tire on line ordering to be delivered by Canada Post to my residence.

I placed the order on Sept 11th and I was given the tracking # by Canada Post. The tracker doesn't give real time updates which isn't good for customer service. It shows that my order last processed in Mississauga, Ontario at 9:39 pm on Sept 15th. Today is Sept 17th and no further updates on the tracker!
My question is where is my parcel & when will I receive it in real time?
I personally don't trust Canada Post & I have had several bad experiences with them in the past and I only use them as a last resort!
I don't have any say in the matter here as Canadian Tire has elected to use them BUT I WISH THAT CDN TIRE WOULD GO WITH A MORE RELIABLE COURIER COMPANY & NOT CDA POST!
This will be my first and last time using Canadian tire!

Canadian tire runs sales for items which are rarely or never available. I do not say this from a one or two time experience. I have repeatedly tried to chase down items they mail you in the flyer and they are almost never available despite the website saying it has 9 in stock. The most recent was a cheap jacket on sale, just as I expected the website said there was 6 mediums but 10mins later in the store there was 0. Only ridiculous sizes like XXL. A month before that boots went on sale, exact same thing. WS says 9 all day but store has 0. The guy at the store revealed that they run it like this and they never had any 9 to begin. They use the "computer error & last year stock" as a lie and excuse but its textbook false advertising and they always do it with their cheap chinese brands. This is the scam to get you in the store, they take an already cheap item and cut it by 40% and realistically none are available or sold for that price. In all honesty they had 1 x 9 but the insoles were missing so it was clearly a return or scrap stock from last season. The people in upper manangement are scumbags as well the store manager at Leslie & Sheppard. The floor people are just bad because they're forced to lie to customers for managements issues. Would not recommend unless you like false advertising and rip offs.

Worst customer service
March 13, 2023

Was there to return baby car seat as the cashier was informed they will if not fit to my son. I got the dimensions of the car seat was too small and another there was no any strap to tie the car seat in car. The var seat felt unsafe as it was only a seat belt that has to tie car seat and the baby. The car seat was not used, it was with original packaging but a customer service lady denied to take it back. She asked a lots of questions showing me policy this time. She told me that the opened box box would not be returned. She also blamed that the car seat was smelled. She also asked to tell cashier' s name that I was purchased the car seat etc…. How do I remember the cashier's name? Later, I asked to call her supervisor. Once she came, she was bothering her by saying the car seat was used and that smelled. Once the supervisor informed her to take this back, the customer service lady was still pushing the supervisor not to take it back saying"are you throwing this car seat"? Later after the discussion, they took it back but didn't returned amount my credit card. They gave me store credit. I didn't want to discuss a lot more but accept thinking that " something was better than nothin". So, very bad experience. Bad customer service. Very difficult to return items once it purchased. Be careful. It was happen at the location: Canadian Tire, Dearfoot, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Today date: March 12,2023, around 5:30pm

The service was great! Got a 42" 4K-UHD as a replacement for a 42" 1080p LED that only had a specifications error that contradicted what was written on the box compared to what was advertised. Obviously no fault of their own, (RCA) they still were kind enough to do the 'ol " Switcheroo"!

March 10,2023. I was at the Sheppard/Leslie shop at around 7:30pm. The store has plain clothed workers or outsourced workers taking video or photos of people shopping.

I asked if he was a Canadian tire employee he said yes. I asked for ID, he refused. He said he was not taking phots despite snooping around with a hand phone with what "appeared" to be unknowing taking photos/videos of clients.

I asked an Canadian tire employee and she said yes. But this guy comes at me to argue that there are thousands of people walking in and he takes photos (ah. Now admitting to it). I asked him to name a few of those thousand and he can only identify 4 people. He provokes me to ask the manager, so I do...On a day that a retired person like me has tire to take a stroll and argue when provoked, I do ask the manager. The manager comes and say yes. But apologies as to the crap attitude of the worker...The manager probably is just standing in and not the owner.

Raged and that shop is not going to get my business.

How I wonder if those who had their photos take were asked for permission.

I took my car in for an inspection as to why it was not starting. Having not heard from them in the 4 days they had the car I called them for a status update. When I asked they informed me that it wasn't my car but someone else's and they had left a message on their phone about it. After giving the employee my phone number she informed me that they had the wrong phone number. A wrong phone number is very difficult to do since the service manager pulled up my service history to create the work order while\I was standing in front of him.
I refused their recommendations on the repairs and told them that I would be in to pick the car up. When I went to pay, the bill was twice the amount of the service I requested. When I questioned why I was told they did two inspections. I did not authorize an additional inspection and since they had the wrong phone number they certainly did not contact me to ask for permission. At that point I asked to see the service manager - he was not there, then I asked for the store manager - he was not there, and then I asked for the general manger - he was not there. The service advisor told me that someone will contact me tomorrow. I have me doubts but I hope I am wrong.

If you want a price match with other retail store, good luck for that. Today, i went into one of the canadian tire store trying to get a price match with other their own canadian tires store because that store location is too far from my home, so i went to the location closer to me. I thought i would not have any problem since they are same company, right? I was wrong, absolutely wrong. The department asked me to talk to CS AT FRONT DESK, so i did, the female lady talked to her manager, told me ok i can have the price match, told me to go there to ask them to call her then i went to that department ask the sale person to call CS front desk, they called and suddenly told me no, could not give me the price match. I thought that sale person was lying to me, i went back to talk to CS lady i talked to, told me that her manager ok approval it but the general manager reject it. What? What a waste of time going back and forth & long line-up, told me the reason each canadain tires store is individual franchise and on sale items clearance is final sale, blah blah. What a joke. So price match still come with all kind of conditions & excuse. Lucky i did not have my tires install over there and buy this tires replacement advantage warranty. It will cost me over $200 for all of them. Very strange, THERE WAS A REport saying they have the best CS OR RETAILs in the market. Who rate that and did they get a lot of money sponsor for that? I wonder.
