DONT DONT DONT Dont use this company, this company supports rent cars that promote scam processes. I had massive problems with my reservation. I've been trying to get an answer since 14.08.2023 there are no replies, no phone number, zero zero zero support.

Here is the whole report.

I am extremely disappointed with economicbooking due to serious problems with my reservation B*******. The company I rented the car from doesn't exist; I rented it via economicbooking to get a car from Surprice rental car. However, this company doesn't exist, and the real company name is Active rental car. They take you to this other company when you arrive at the airport, hiding the Google reviews that reveal the scam process. They do not use the real name to avoid you find the review company profile, which is a complete SCAM process.

Please check the Google reviews on this page https://g.co/kgs/7WyV1n (or just search "active rental a car" in Google and go to reviews) to see the tricks applied to all clients. When you arrive at the office and want to make the security deposit, the manager claims your card is not working and demands an extra 200 euros. I have recorded the entire process, and it is a complete scam. When I reported the scam to economicbooking, they said there was nothing they could do, which is absurd since I rented the car through their platform.

The attendee also said they would share a link through email, which I never received. This is not a respectable way to treat clients, and I demand a refund of the money I paid so far for the reservation. I paid 105.90 pounds to be tricked by a rental car company that doesn't even exist. I felt in danger, lost hours of my trip, and received no respectful treatment when reporting the scam.

Moreover, I cannot emphasize enough the significant negative impact this entire ordeal had on my mental health and overall well-being. Being forced to pay extra insurance, spending more than 2 hours near the airport with no resources, and feeling vulnerable in a foreign country added to the massive stress we experienced. The situation was so overwhelming that my partner needed to take calming pills to cope with the anxiety and frustration.

The feeling of helplessness, being stranded in a foreign country, and having no support or resources available was truly distressing. The stress caused by this situation has had long-lasting effects on us, and the emotional toll it took cannot be quantified. This kind of experience has no price, and we firmly believe that we deserve compensation for the damages it has caused us physically, emotionally, and mentally.

We request that economicbooking takes full responsibility for your role in promoting a fraudulent company and causing us such distress. It is unacceptable for a company to disregard the well-being and safety of its customers in this manner. I once again urge you to review the evidence we have provided and take appropriate action to rectify this situation.

As you can see in the next review the company uses the same scam technique in all clients. In my case, he didn't count that I had another business credit (Gold credit card) accepted in the whole world. When he saw the credit car he said we don't accept this one.

Awful experience with this rental company, ended up paying nearly 300.00 gbp more

This company is just a broker and have no care what so ever as to what unscrupulous company they are booking you with and just brush their hands of any issues you have/had.
Our paperwork told us we would be met in the airport foyet by the rental company but after waiting and searching, no one showed, we enquired at the airport desk, who told us the rental company had an office across the main road outside, so we struggled across with all our suitcases to find no one in the office either.
The contact number we had on our form, no one answered, after trying many numbers written on the little shack of an office door, eventually one of the numbers answered and we were told he was on his way.
On arrival he said he would upgrade us for free for our trouble, (the condition of the upgrade made us dread to think of the condition of the car we were going to have)
In the shack of an office, the company started adding all sorts of payments on top, which added to an extra 268.47 gbp on top of the price we were given, we could not cancel our rental as we had appartments booked all over the country that we needed transport to get to, so we were over a barrel
The cars issues soon became apparent, when it rained, the windscreen wipers were next to useless, the seats had springs poking up, the car was filthy and tatty
The rental company was ADDCAR so definitley avoid them too
On our return, around 20th September, i e mailed Booking group immediately with our complaint and its taken them all this time, to let us know that basically they brush their hands of it all, they are NOT interested at all and are not prepared to even try to get some of our money back, my advise AVOID!
We´ve used many rental companies over the years in many countries, this was by far our worse experience

NEVER use this company - DISGRACEFUL

Dear BookingGroup,

I booked and part-paid for a hire car on the 5th July 2016 and received email confirmation of a Fiat 500 (or similar) from Auto Click rent-a-car in Faro, Portugal. On arrival in Faro, yesterday 19th July 2016, I followed the pick-up information on my rental voucher confirmation. After some confusion as to the whereabouts of Auto Click we waited 45 mins for the free transfer shuttle bus. None came. I phoned Auto Click who were aware of my booking but told me our car was not available due to a mechanical breakdown. They had no other cars available in their fleet. They told me that this had been communicated to BookingGroup the previous day 18th July by phone. BookingGroup had told Auto Click that was not a problem and they would make alternative arrangements for us. I was instructed to phone BookingGroup and find out what alternative car hire arrangements had been made.

I then phoned BookingGroup and spoke to Lisa who informed me that no such communication had been received from Auto Click and my reservation was still valid. Knowing what Auto Click had just told me on the phone, I challenged Lisa with this information. Lisa's response on behalf of BookingGroup was utterly disgraceful, hence this formal complaint. She told me that, if Auto Click didn't have a car for us, then that was the way it was and what did we expect her to do about it! I pleaded with Lisa as we were now stranded with an 11 month old screaming baby in the boiling sun and trying to get to our wedding destination - without a car!

I asked Lisa time and time again to please help and re-arrange with another supplier of car rentals, you being the broker and having multiple clients (car rental companies) at your disposal. I was told time and again - "I cannot help you, there is nothing I can do". I pleaded to speak to someone in charge only to hit a brick wall. I was understandably furious having made a booking and paid for it some weeks ago and for it now not to be honored. I was not rude and did not swear. I was told to send an email and I would get a refund - that was it. No help to find a new rental car. Finally, in a moment of utter disbelief, Lisa hung up the phone on me. I finally phoned Auto Click back to double check the situation (as Lisa would not) and they repeated what they had said and were not interested in helping me.

As frequent visitors to Faro we know how difficult and expensive it is to get a car on the day, from the counter of a hire car company. We weren't even sure we would be able to get one at all. After much delay and upset we eventually found another car rental but at greatly exaggerated cost and inconvenience to us.

I am not only demanding a full refund of what I have paid to you already but also the cost of the phone calls and the excess charges we have suffered as a consequence. In addition I would like a full written explanation of what went wrong with the booking and why Lisa refused to help us and honor our booking by making some other arrangements. I accept that cars break down and Auto Click did not have another. I believe that they told you of the problem on 18th July and you couldn't be bothered to organise an alternative for us. I believe you have total and utter disregard for your paying customers. I will be taking this matter to the press and Radio 4 consumer complaints show if I do not receive a satisfactory refund & response, promptly and in full.

AVOID. NEVER GOT MY HIRE CAR NOR ANY REFUND FOR A RENTAL PAID FULLY IN ADVANCE

We were in Croatia on holiday in August and had booked car hire through bookinggroup.com for the second week of our holiday. I had requested a nine seater vehicle and had arranged to collect the vehicle from Dubrovnik Airport and had provided 9h00 as the estimated time that we would need the car. I also provided my mobile phone number to bookinggroup.com, who subsequently sent me a car hire voucher showing that the car would be provided by Green Motion Care Hire whose "opening hours" at Dubrovnik Airport were 7h00-22h00. It took longer to get to the airport than expected and I arrived at the airport around 10h30 but could not find a car hire desk for Green Motion. I then walked to the car hire site on the edge of the airport grounds and could also not find Green Motion car hire at this site. I then phoned Green Motion using the number provided on the car hire voucher (at around 10h40) and was told that their driver had delivered the car to the airport at 9h00 but had since left (with the car) as I had not arrived at the scheduled time and they had not been provided with my mobile phone number. I was also told that it was now impossible for them to provide me with a car and I should make alternative plans, but that I could expect a full refund.
It was very difficult to then find an alternative car and we were only able to find a seven seater, which was a considerable inconvenience for our large group and which also cost EUR500 more than the car we had booked and fully paid for in advance. We were also never told that we had to be at the airport at 9h00 sharp and were expecting the more normal situation where you collect the car from the car hire desk at the airport and from a car hire operator who has a permanent base at the airport; which was also what appeared to be the case based on the car hire voucher that was provided.
I have since made several attempts to contact bookinggroup.com. I have phoned them several times but have never got beyond a long phone queue. I have also emailed them several times and each time get a reply saying that they will answer in max. 10 business days, but have never had an answer. Although I note that they were quick to respond to emails at the time that the booking and payment were being finalised.

THE REPLY FROM BOOKINGGROUP.COM OFFERING TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER IS ANOTHER SHAM. TRIED ALL WAYS POSSIBLE TO CONTACT THEM AFTER THEY POSTED THIS REPLY AND THE RESPONSE WAS THE SAME AS BEFORE - NOTHING!
