Go direct to the hotel and avoid using a third inconsequential party. We used booking.con and their customer service was hopelessly inefficient and very ineffective at resolving an issue. Worse than useless.
Booking.com is a joke. Terrible customer service. Cut off multiple times. Misrepresented the hotel I stayed at. Paid for 6 nights, had to leave after 1 night-ear splitting loud music next door at a "beach club", no hot water, no drinking water(!), no a/c. No help from booking.com whatsoever. Runaround. 1367. 00 charge on my card and they won't help. Bastards, never again...
Using this website for my business trips and when I'm on holidays, for the last 3 or for 4 years, mostly round Europe. Could not remember I had any issues with booking. The amount of actual discount, but not the marketing tricks can be bigger, other than that all fine.
Booked two rooms recently using this site. Not bad at all. Fast service and good orientation with the map so you can see where is your hotel(speaking about the mobile version). However, didn't get why the first booking they took my money right away and the second one I had to pay at the hotel.
Otherwise I don't have any negative experience so far.
I have been trying for 2 months to list a property on their platform, hours of phone calls, agents promising to call me back, calls being cut off, and I am no further forwards. I am speechless how this company can be so atrocious when it comes to dealing with customers. Avoid at all costs if possible.
Scammers have literally broken into their email system and caused me to book the room directly from the hotel. Trying to get ahold of someone to resolve issue is virtually impossible. Used these guys for years but will never again!
We booked return flights on Norwegian via booking.com from Gatwick to Bergen in February to fly economy in October.
After numerous attempts to add additional cabin luggage for my wife, we were notified only one cabin bag was allowed and I had to pay £25 each way to add as hold luggage. Booking.com refused to let me cancel our booking.
To add to our anxiety we could not Checkin online - their system would not accept our details!
I emailed a CS Senior Guest Specialist who claimed " we have no records of any contacts you might have had with our affiliate company Gotogate, and are not in control of the check-in process for your booking."
It thought the principle of subsidiarity (passing the buck) did not apply when paying an organisation for services.
We have learned that saving on flights does not compensate for the hassle & time wasting.
I had a highly disappointing experience with Booking.com regarding a supposedly fake apartment in Amsterdam. We were not only scammed out of 910 euros but also subjected to a distressing situation that's hard to put into words. Despite providing ample evidence of the scam, Booking.com and their customer service not only refused to refund the money but completely dismissed the matter. It's incredibly disgraceful and unprofessional. The company's behavior is nothing short of cheating and fraud, preying on innocent victims like us for their financial gain. It's essential for them to be held accountable for their actions, and if any semblance of professionalism remains, they should reach out to rectify the situation. This experience has left me frustrated and disappointed with Booking.com's lack of integrity and accountability.
I booked a room for through booking had an issue reached out to them and the hotel. Booking said no response from the hotel but yet booking is the third partying booking for this hotel. They telling me it's nothing they can do I have to contact the hotel if y'all can't get in contact with them how can I. I sent over all the information booking asked I will never book with booking again. I will get my money back trying to be nice about the situation taking proper causes. Went for my son birthday and we all was bite up we seen a termite and killed it.
Booked a room for $169 and was charged $245 because of undisclosed fees. I called immediately and they refused to credit or cancel. Called several more times over three days and just got the run-around. Do not use this company.
Booked a hotel for my wife in Gumbet the bleu nuit, on arrival the hotel was closed for renovations, no prior warning given and booking.com make it very difficult to claim any compensation, in short they are not interested. Terrible customer service, use at your peril.
I was a victim of fraud as someone used my credit card to make a booking. Booking.com did not care and made 0 effort to help me in any way. Avoid them at all costs, horrendous communication and customer service
Do not use this service for any reason. We booked a car through them, only to be informed upon arrival at the airport that there were no cars available - but if we waited around for about 3 hours, they *might* have one. The rental company informed us, along with 100+ others in line, that if we chose to cancel, we'd be issued a full refund. Let the games begin… After being "disconnected" and hung up on by extremely rude and unhelpful agents from both the rental agency and Booking.com, we eventually got them to actually cancel the reservation, but they refused to reimburse! A month later, we're still fighting this charge through the credit card company.
These people are crooks. If you are paid for a service, but then fail to perform the service, yet charge the customer anyway, that's fraud.
Booking.com has truly redefined the way we plan and experience travel. As an avid traveler, I have relied on this platform for various trips, and each time, it has exceeded my expectations. Booking.com is more than just a booking site; it's a comprehensive travel companion that makes the entire journey, from planning to accommodation, incredibly smooth and enjoyable.
Their ad was for $109 a night for Zona hotel. Booked 3 nights & was charged $417 total, and in fine print, "not including 15% tax & $45 service fee." Talked to Joanie and the supervisor, who were very rude and confrontational, basically said "nothing we can do, the hotel changed their rates." Don't ever go through booking.com! Now I see why there are so many horrible reviews about this place. The rate shown on the site is just an illusion to lure you in and the customer service is lazy, rude and heartless, they won't do anything except to basically tell you "there's nothing we can do, it's your fault for booking."
They keep finding excuses not to honour their price match claim (just 5 pounds...), and start not responding. For example, they said if I book through hotel directly, "will be charged directly by Booking.com". Completely blown my mind.
Luca was an amazing host! I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there. The house was absolutely perfect. 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, a kitchen and best price out there. We even washed our clothes in the washer and dryer!
There is a market and delicious restaurants in just a short walking distant. And right out back of the house are stairs leading all the way down to town where you can spend as long as you want in town shopping, eating, sipping wine or even boat ride right over to Capri if you want. Beautiful views from the porch out back with a lovely swing, couch, table and chairs shaded to drink your coffee in the morning. Quiet, beautiful gardens, vegetables growing right in yard. And any questions that arose, Luca responded within moments. He and his father carried our luggage, set up rides for us, showed us bus schedule. It was perfect. Thanks Luca!
Hotel I've booked through booking.com made a mistake (gave away my room to someone). Booking.com charged me with no-show up fee, and not replying my mail.
This is unacceptable and I wont use their service in the future.
I pre-paid 4 nights at the Hampton Inn, a Hilton property through Bookings.com for over $1000. Their website said then and says now "Free Cancellation, Most Rooms". I had to cancel two weeks ahead of time because of a serious medical emergency. They wouldn't refund any of my $1000. Since I cancelled, they can also re-rent my room which means they are doubly enriched. This is a scam. My confirmation number was *******925.
As a host, I have been waiting for 7 months to be paid by Booking.com while my guest has already paid them. Calling customer service has been a fruitless endeavor, with each representative apologizing as a matter of course and then referring me back to the same point. Some of them even confessed to having a terrible experience with the finance department within the company. It appears that there is either an internal conflict or this is their standard policy - terrible management either way. I cannot believe that someone can take money from your guest and not pay you - is this a scam or criminal activity?
Given this experience, I would strongly advise against using the Booking.com platform as a host. You will be left without any form of insurance or protection and may not even be paid. If you encounter any issues, don't expect any help from customer service.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
Booking.com has a rating of 1.2 stars from 4,236 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Booking.com most frequently mention customer service, credit card and free cancellation. Booking.com ranks 445th among Hotels sites.
