Their products are more expensive than you can buy somewhere else. The only reason I bought from them is that they promised $199 for my trade in. When they received it, they only offered me $6 for a perfectly good phone
Their insurance is a con, they will not repair or replace your phone.
Bought a couple of phones from them, the whole good, excellent, new condition titles do not represent how they function. Battery life varies, one phone barely lasted half a day with little - no use. It was sold as new condition.
I ordered a phone in "excellent" condition. The phone arrived with one of the screws in the bottom sticking out completed rounded off on top. I gave a detailed explanation of the issue, sent photos, and returned the item. Not only has this completely wasted my time but I have not been give a full refund. Absolute scam of a company. Avoid! No way of communicating to anyone to resolve. Would have better service buying from the black market. Horrendous experience.
Attempting to buy a used iPhone from them for someone's Christmas present. After Fedex made a delivery attempt, it turns out, according to FedEx, that *I personally* (NOT my spouse, roommate, other adult, etc.) but ME and only ME can sign for the package. I request FedEx to change the shipping address so it will come to my workplace and I can then sign for it, and they say that Back Market must "authorize" that change. 24 hours later, after typing messages and waiting several hours for a "response" each time, it's clear that whoever I'm dealing with there does not have the first clue on what the issue is or how to resolve it, and sends back some useless non-answer in "response" to each of my messages. No, you cannot call them. No, you cannot even chat with them. Just send messages into the void and then wait a few hours. I will never ever ever buy anything from these idiots ever again.
Delivery was quick. Phone was exactly as described, but did have to be returned. Very good communication throughout, and speedy return process. Fully refunded as promised. Details: Ordered an Samsung Galaxy S9 on 11/27/20 in mint condition. Arrived on 12/8/20. It was as described, exactly in mint condition. Put in Sim and everything was working fine. Got a message to update the software, so did. Afterwards, phone would not connect to internet. Learned that phone was on Sprints blacklist rendering the phone useless. Contacted Back Market who notified seller Wireless Boss. Received right away a return label. Printed it and returned the phone the next day 12/9/20. It was received by seller on 12/16 and process was started for a full refund. Checked my credit card statement on 12/26/20 and the credit was received. I'm sure mail would have been quicker had it not been Christmas.
The screen on my MacBook does have issues. Oddly, the body and keyboard of the computer are perfect, meanwhile the screen has burn-in areas and a few dead spots right in the middle which is disappointing given that the screen is supposed to have no visual artifacts when turned on. I don't have time to deal with a return or exchange so not sure if I'd buy from these guys again or not.
I purchased some beats studio 3, and my shipment was delayed and when it arrived the charger port didn't work neither did the cord for uncharged uses. I've contacted the company headquarters for information to the seller so I emailed the seller and haven't gotten a response since I've put in the email.
I have a receipt show my full address with my apartment number. But Back Market forgot to include my apartment number. So I never received my laptop which I needed to work from home. Costing me even more money. I reached out to them and they were nice but absolutely no help. I held with USPS for almost an hour just to get hung up on. I will not be purchasing from them again.
I bought a iPhone XS specifically because they came new with a OLED screen. Received the iPhone 3 days later, in good cosmetic condition and works really well. I found that it has a LCD screen installed somewhere along the line. That sucks but, there is no way I found to ask questions before making a purchase. I would return it but how do I know that I won't get the same situation all over? Sucks...
Second problem I found is that the battery life is at 75%. Will be required to spend more dollars to replace it. Apple says batteries need to be replaced at 75%. I doubt they will allow a return for that reason since they seem to send out iPhones with low batteries. I've seen several complaints in this site about it. Have to remember a pre owned iPhone 5 years or more old is going to need a battery soon. Since you can't ask questions, it's buyer beware at Black Market. I won't be going back...
I'm very pleased with the appearance of this phone, my problem is the battery life, I have to charge at least once a day and I only use for Facebook. I know they would exchange it, but that means I would have to do without a phone. So I just have to make sure I have a charger at all times.
There were a few minor scratches on the phone near charging port and speaker but it does not effect the phones performance. The camera is incredible! Fast and such an upgrade to my previous phone. The shipping was fast and kept my phone safe from sticky fingers. Will be using again!
It's all depend about the product that you purchase. Sometimes the product is good you're lucky. Sometimes the product has some problems you're stuck with it nobody's gonna help you and they mentioned that it was your problem.
I ordered an unlocked Samsung phone. The phone did not work. The company has NO ways to get in touch - no working email, no chat on their website, no insert with retur instructions and order number in the package. I had NOTHING, except for the transaction record in PayPal. The help files on company's site were pages and pages of dross generated (I suspect) by an AI-assisted law student. My advise: go to brick-and-mortar store like Best Buy, spend $50 or so more on your contraption and save yourself frustration.
Let's start with quality, buy "excellent" get like new.
Buy "very good" and you get excellent!
That is a win where the rubber meets the road.
Unquestionable ethics, integrity and five stAr support & communication.
What else is there?
Customer for life.

UPDATE: - Back Market worked diligently to make good on my complaint and I am very satisfied - so much that I will attempt another purchase from them!
----------------------------------------
I've purchased many products from Back Market with very satisfactory results. However, the last three refurbished computers I've purchased have not lasted one year... (June 2022) A Dell laptop lasted 10 months before completely dying...(Feb 2022) A Dell desktop began locking up after a few months (when using multiple applications at one time), requiring a reboot to "reset the memory"... now it requires a reboot several times a day... (Feb 2024) an HP Desktop that shows various blue screens that require a restart...I've gotten four of them today...
Their support response has been good, but they offer nothing on the first two units as they are now out of warranty... and the recent HP purchase - they only offer to fix it if I return it to them. I have a work at home job and can't be without a computer, even if it keeps restarting... Three units in 2.5 years and none are working correctly - from three different sellers... A waste of my (senior on a fixed income) money.
I am very satisfied with Back Market. They gave me exactly what I purchased and it arrived on time. When I received my MacBook Pro, it was in exceptional condition. Whenever I need electronics of this sort I will check with Back Market first. You can save some money and get a great product.
I got a phone in fair condition and it came with no scratches or marks. It was half the retail price but just as good. I definitely recommend buying electronics from here because their sellers are verified and customer service is really helpful.
Clear communication about every step of the buying process. I bought a refurbished garmin watch for my husband and it has been great! Will definitely return to back market for future electronic purchases.
Came to Back Market looking for an old tablet, what I found is my new favorite site for used electronics.
Amazing values for refurbished products that are just as good as new. Everything I've ordered has arrived on time or early and looked exactly as expected or better-and worked perfectly out of the box. Can not recommend this place enough!
I've ordered a few monitors and other refurbished electronics from back market and had one issue which was quickly remedied. Great company trying to keep electronic waste out of landfills, and getting us good deals while doing it.
Answer: Bought a refurbed iPhone 11 unlocked, as a Christmas gift. It arrived and I had it activated. I had no problem with the phone. I went to Simple Mobil, and got their 25.00 plan. The phone is in great condition, works great, and I am happy with Back Market.
