Horrible Return Policy & Customer Service. Beware!
August 22, 2022

Like another reviewer said: beware because Aritzia's return policy is awful. I've purchased from them last summer and returned things before so I never had this issue. I can't tell whether they changed their return policy?

Anyway, I bought something last week that was discounted for sale for a measly $4 off. Not that serious. Not even 50% off. Less than 10% off. The discount was for no reason, so it's not like I asked for it.

The tops ended up being too big so I wanted to exchange them for a smaller size. I live chat them and they told me that if I want them for the original sale price ($4 off per top), then the new order will be final sale and non-returnable because it's considered a "price adjustment". What kind of company does that?

Not only that, but when I said I'll just return the tops (since I didn't want to deal with the potential of getting a new item that still won't fit and can't return), they told me that the return of my original order would still be store credit or gift card only. This is incredibly infuriating because this item was less than 10% off and it wasn't even a choice nor listed as final sale. Imagine buying a $200+ blazer from them and getting a $20 discount then being told you can't return the blazer for a full refund if it doesn't fit? Also, the person on live chat messaged me sounding really snarky like they're selling some $500 luxury underwear. Relax.

I'm tempted to file a dispute with my credit card company now because I never heard of such a horrible return policy. Because of this measly <10% discount, I'm forced to return this item online for store credit, PAY for the return, wait 7-10 business days AFTER they receive the items to get store credit and forced to re-order a different size at full price along with losing money from shipping. There's no guarantee that the sizes will be available in the colors I want after all this. And again, this is expected for scam websites, cheap companies like SHEIN but I didn't expect this from Aritzia especially when their prices aren't exactly low. I'm never purchasing from them ever again.

FYI: the 2 items I bought were the Babaton Knit Bra Top that retails at $44 a piece.

Invoice only said "Sale items marked at 50% off or greater are final sale." It's only if you go on their website and read the confusing return policy, that this is: "Sale items marked with a discount less than 50% can be returned for merchandise credit on an eGift Card if returned within 14 days of the shipping date. Sorry, no refunds to original form of payment for sale or discounted items." This seems like a scheme that they came up with to avoid getting returns and full refunds to customers. Do better, Aritzia.

[Edit] I've went ahead and filed a dispute because Aritzia kept playing games. For 2 weeks, they told me they refunded to my original payment (Paypal) but I've yet to receive it. I contacted them twice and each time, they asked me to speak to Paypal so I filed a dispute on Paypal. I've never had this problem with any other company that refunds via Paypal. I suspect Aritzia is purposely trying to get me to use the merchandise credit DESPITE agreeing to refund me via Paypal. I'm tired of companies constantly playing games. Paypal finally closed the dispute in my favor because Aritzia didn't even care to respond. Avoid.

STAY AWAY!
January 7, 2020

I've been a loyal Aritzia customer for years, and I've spent thousands of dollars here. Over 60% of my clothes are from Aritzia, and I get most of my friends' presents here as well. I mostly shop online/over the phone since I am not a big fan of in store shopping. I am aware of Aritzia's hideous return policy, so I've made a habit of always checking their return policy before making any purchase online. This is why they didn't get me on their recent update on their return policy: anything over 50% off is final sale even if you purchased online. So far I have not had any problems with the store despite their hideous return policy. However, my recent experience with them was the deal breaker.

I purchased a coat over the phone and confirmed that I'd have 2 weeks to return the item for store credit if I change my mind. I even sent a copy of the chat to my email because you never know if you'd be told otherwise when you make a return. When the package arrived, I opened it, tried it, didn't like it, so I brought it back to the store to return it the next day. I was then told that there is no tag on the coat. WHY IS THERE NO TAG ON THE COAT? SURPRISE SURPRISE. THEY SENT ME A COAT WITH NO TAG ON AND NOW THEY ARE REFUSING TO LET ME RETURN IT B/C IT HAD NO TAG ON. I called customer care right away. I was told that an email will be sent to the store about the issue and It'll be up to the manager to decide if I can return it, depending on the condition of the coat. I felt good about it. After all, I only tried it on for 2 minutes, so of course the coat is in good condition. So I went to the store again the next day, and was told that no email was sent to the store, and that I never called customer care The manager then told me that I can't return it for store credit b/c the coat is not in resalable condition anymoreARE YOU SAYING THAT YOU GUYS SENT ME A COAT THAT WASN'T IN RESELLABLE CONDITON?! She then even lied to me and said that all on sale items are final sale, so I wasn't even allowed to return it in the first place.ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I ALWAYS SHOP ONLINE SO I KNOW THAT I HAVE 2 WEEKS TO RETURN FOR STORE CREDIT. STOP LYING!

Anyways, the thing to take away from this is that even if you are fully aware of their hideous return policy, and you did exactly what you are supposed to do to get a return, THEY CAN STILL SEND YOU SOMETHING WITHOUT A TAG ON AND YOU'D BE STUCK WITH IT! DON'T' BOTHER BUYING FROM THIS PLACE!

AVOID shopping here at all costs
February 15, 2016

I purchased a sale skirt from their website (the one teaspoon 2020 skirt). Under standard delivery, the skirt came in within about a week and a half. Right away, I noticed the button was missing (not a regular sewn on button, but the metal type you usually find on denim that you would otherwise need a professional to repair). However, even on sale, I ended up paying 65 dollars for the skirt; I felt I should not have to be paying additional and going out of my way to have it repaired. They should have looked it over more carefully before sending it from their warehouse, however people do make mistakes, and I was willing to let it go once as long as it was properly handled. I called their customer care number, and was told that a special note would be put in at a location of my choice, which would allow them to refund it for me (since they do not due refunds on sale merchandise, even if bought online), and I would have to repay for a new skirt over the phone (they cannot refund shipping costs in store, so the representative waived the shipping the second time I paid over the phone). Typically, at this point of inconvenience, most companies would offer you some sort of gratitude/compensation; not Aritzia. In fact, I was told by their charming representative that they were already accommodating me by "providing me with express shipping the second time." How moronic does that sound... you would not have to be "accommodating" me if you had done the job right the first time... I would have had the skirt earlier, regardless of your express shipping. Now I have to take additional time off to go return another one, and pick up the new skirt from Canada post. Anyway, the second skirt comes in; its ripped completely from the leg to the crotch to the point where you cannot wear it. Completely different from what was advertised from the website and the first skirt I received. I told the Fairview Mall associate that I would either like to return both (though I loved the skirt very much) because both were extremely damaged, or that they provide some sort of alteration service for the button. After talking on the phone with customer care for about 25 minutes, another colossal waste of my time, I was told neither of these could be done and I was forced to keep one. Along side this, the associate would reiterate over and over that it was not Aritzia's house brand, so they cannot be held responsible for it--um, yes you very much are responsible for it, considering you are the retailer who is carrying it and the damage probably occurred within your warehouse. Regardless, it is your responsibility to make sure your customers are receiving what they paid good money for. If I purchased from the One teaspoon website, then it would be their responsibility. See how that works? In addition, she actually had the nerve to argue and say that the second skirt was "completely wearable" with two massive holes well into the crotch area. Meanwhile, the associates around her as well as customers were looking at the skirt on the table with a look of disgust and disbelief... commentating and actually thinking I was actually purchasing that item to wear or something along those lines. Regardless, after all of this, I am stuck with a button-less skirt, which I am going to have to make an additional trip to have fixed (with a button that will noticeably not resemble the designer's button--they have their logo on all their buttons) and have to pay extra. Needless to say, almost every single person I have come in contact with on behalf of this company is a complete dumb $#*!, for a lack of a better word, and immensely thirsty for sales. Do NOT shop here if you value your money or time.

Note: a photo of the two damaged skirts I received, along with the photo advertised on the Aritzia website for the product, are attached. See the difference for yourself.
